Wanted ad Looking for sustainable lawn care service

It's time to admit lawn care is not my strength. I need regular front yard and garden maintenance and special projects for backyard cleanup and pruning. I'm looking for a company that uses electric or battery powered equipment and eco-friendly products.

Shout-out to Lawn Be Gone for reducing the amount of grass to be maintained, but I still need help :)

Looking to meet new people? Come hang with the Eugene Men's Social Club today, Sunday JAN 5th, 1-3pm @ Chambers Grill!

It’s time for another Beers with Buds with the Eugene Men's Social Club! The event will take place from 1-3pm Sunday (Today) January 5th at the Chambers Street Grill and Taphouse near 18th and Chambers!

We are a social group that was created in October 2022 for the purpose of creating a place for men to socialize and hangout with other guys in a neutral, fun, supportive environment. A few common threads among many members include working from home and needing to find ways to get out and meet others. Sound familiar?

Most of our group activity happens on discord where we have a very strong group of regulars. We talk about everything from finance to home improvement to food & drink to video games. If you can think of a topic, there's likely someone who shares a similar interest as you!

We also do very regular in person meetups & activities such as this one at the grill.

Please feel free to join the Discord and get to know us! -> https://mens.eugenesocialclub.com/

Art House: which theater is Theater 1 and which one's Theater 2?

Theater 1 at the Art House is the older probably-former-churchy space on your right as you enter, past the ticket sales desk, right? And Theater 2 is the one on the other side of the courtyard? Google ain't helping me.

Metal lathe training?

My husband picked up a 1950 Southbend metal lathe. He's a welder and has been fabricating parts for tractor restorations. The classes at LCC are geared toward modern machines. Anybody out there in to old school belt driven lathes?

Birth Centers - Thoughts?

The two birth centers I know of and would like to compare are Our Community Birth Center and Oregon Birth and Wellness, both of which are located in Springfield. What do people, pregnant and partners, think of these? I’ve heard great things about both. Is one better than the other depending on what you’re looking for? Decided to post since the last birth center threads are from years ago.

Does anyone know who the lucky folks are out by the Springfield Country Club who have an entire 1980s Mcdonald's playground in their backyard?

I know a coffee shop in town that would be extremely interested in an introduction to see if they would be willing to sell it. Thanks!

Looking for Vintage Auto Repair Service

I have a an old car (68 Impala) that needs a new frame and some related chassis parts replaced. I am not looking for a high end restoration for show - I just want it safe to drive around. The body is in great condition - but the frame/chassis that needs attention. I know there are a couple of specialized auto restoration shops in town but they seem like overkill for what I need. Any suggestions about people/places that have the necessary equipment, experience, and interest to do this kind of auto work?

Any recs for local cow milk? ISO pasteurized cow milk sold in glass bottles, ideally that I can buy directly from the farm. Or if someone would like to bring back the milk man, I’d sign up! 🐄🥛

Moving Experience with Westmoreland Village apts?

Hi all, me and my partner currently rent together in Eugene and are looking at others apartments to rent from in the summer.

Westmoreland Village is on our list of ones to check out more in depth, and I was curious if anyone here has experience renting there.

I currently have Jennings as my property manager and I’ve heard mixed reviews on them.

In search of old sushi

Howdy folks- I lived in Eugene around 2013-2018 and there was this fantastic, tiny sushi spot in the Whit. Can’t remember what it was called but it only sat like 20 people, always needed a reservation, no menu, chef just hooked up the freshness.

Anyway, we heard he closed down to open a larger space and now we are back in town. Anyone know if that newer place exists and what it’s called?

Thanks!!

Activism Are CSAs worth it here?

As someone who frequently went to the farmer's market when it's open, I saw the signs for the CSAs often. It seems a bit $$$, but it also supports local ag/farmers, so it's a mixed blessing. I have never done a CSA, but remember hearing about the concept and thinking it was cool.

Have you used a CSA before? Did you think it was worth it? Any CSA you would recommend?

Meetup Eugene dog meetups?

Hi! Any local dog meetups? We have a little chiweenie that would love to socialize but the dog parks are too much for him right now during the winter. Any indoor dog meetups around here? Or anyone wanting to host one? We would but we don’t have the space.

Thanks!
