I(15F) have an iPad where the the battery is SWELLED. I don’t have a pic, I’m scared to approach it. I’ve seen videos on how dangerous they can be. My mom thinks it was just me mishandling it and that the battery is just bent. How do I convince her to take me to dispose of it?? I’m terrified it will start a fire and or explode in the night.. as of right now it’s in our garage, but the garage does have flammable things in it. Please help!!

I bought an Air11 M2 BRAND NEW for christmas, the main use that I got for it is taking notes in uni and some media consumption. Two days ago I needed to take notes from a video lesson in late night, that I desperately needed for the morning after, since I had an exam that morning.

Well, my experience in using THEIR NATIVE APP, not some bullshit third party, THEIR FREAKING NATIVE APP, Apple Notes, begins that night and ends that night. Every 10/15 minutes i needed to restart the whole thing, because the lag input from the Pencil to the document was hilarious, as you can see in the video.

And OMG the thermal throttling. Yeah, it’s winter, the time of freezing cold, but i don’t need a oven under my hand, the whole time that i’m typing.

Come on Apple, you have a CPU that can outperform my desktop and you optimize your notes app like my ass AND you can’t find a way to not cook my palm with the most basic use of your product? F*ck u. I’m thinking about returning this slate of aluminum and sadness.

The iPad is around one year old and as far as I'm concerned, it was not treated In any harsh way.

I haven't charged it in maybe 6 months, the charging hole is clean, and when I plug it, there is an indication that it is being charged. It has been connected for more than a day now and it still hasn't reached 1%, I also tried different cables.

Or at least vex is. haha.

Hello, everyone. I can’t identify anyone else who has had the same issue (which isn’t really what anyone wants to run to). It’s a recently purchased product (2 months). Siri isn’t responding to any commands. I can touch the screen and it turns on, and I can unlock it, however, it doesn’t respond to any commands other than turning the screen on. The device doesn’t answer to commands made by mouse and trackpad as well. The device won’t restart, and yes, the buttons are working perfectly, and yes, I am doing the procedure correctly. And yes, it happened suddenly. I tried to open the Pages app with the trackpad it was more like a ghost touch. The device is properly updated.

I used the Apple Pencil to take a screenshot of the Home Screen to test around, and when I turn on the device, all I see is the screenshot interface. The Lock Screen doesn’t show up, even if I turn off the screen.

Am I a moron? Is this a simple touchscreen problem? Just trying to grasp how screwed I am before I contact Apple Support, it’s the first time I can’t fix a software problem by myself. Cheers to anyone who can take their time trying to enlighten me.

No they are not stolen. My company sends out them occasionally to our customers for R&D purposes. This customer sent them back with passcodes on them and their support person is not giving us anything to go off of as to what the passcodes would be.

I've been using the built-in file app on my iPad pro for annotation and note taking, and for some inexplicable reason, the app keeps crashing and either deleting my annotations, or disappearing/eating the actual text/images of the PDF itself and leaving only my annotations on a blank white screen. It and the built-in notes app have given me so many headaches.

I've given up on the files app, and am looking for something that isn't going to cost me a lot to use in its stead. All I need is it to be able to view PDFs and annotate them with a pen, highlighter, and eraser tool. It would be even better if it's also a file storage/viewer app like the files app is or Devonthink.

My new IPAD arrived today and after using it, I decided to charge it a bit. I was not expecting it to charge so slow LMAO. I am so accustomed to my Iphone charging fast it caught me off guard. Charged 26% in 35 minutes. Thats normal right? I am a little worried because of the speed.

I am mainly using my ipad for note taking and I'd rather convert my handwriting to text so I can then format it and use the search function. The problem is that it seems to recognise only one language (and I usually write in different languages) and it just doesn't want to accept that I might use neologism or a made up word. Even if I write it in capital letters, it won't recognise made up words. Is there a way to tell it to add that word on its dictionary? And to make it recognise different languages at the same time?

Hi! I, 21F, am a full time undergrad student set to graduate next fall. I currently have an ipad air 5th gen with a gen 2 apple pencil in my set up. I use my ipad for note taking, reading digital textbooks, emails, occasional zoom meetings and in terms of hobbies I enjoy watching youtube, NYT games, some cozy games and reading via kindle app (i have a kindle but ipad is good for graphic novels!). I have considered trading my current ipad in for the latest ipad mini for ease of portability and use once i graduate however I’m curious if the size of the mini is still realistic for my current uses. I should note I do also have a Macbook pro for typing and things the necessitate a larger device, but i tend to not carry it often due to size and weight so it usually stays at home hooked to a monitor. I am slowly getting into digital minimalism so I hope to be on my devices less in general however if I downgrade to a “dumb phone” my ipad will serve as the hub for my online banking, insurance and anything that has gone completely online regarding life necessities. Since I am still in school for about a year, it may not be realistic to do so now however there is a chance I will be going to grad school and i’m not sure what that will look like for me! I study environment science with a minor in bio so much of my time is spent in labs or doing field surveying, so any technology usage is charts, and organization of data. Any input is greatly appreciated, whether you may have varying ideas or not!! Thanks in advance! :)

My daughter’s iPad 10 (wifi only) has a weird behavior and I’ve searched for days now online and can’t find anyone else describing this particular situation. When she messages someone the contact turns red as soon as she taps the dialog box and can’t type anything. This part I have found other people experiencing, but the circumstances are different. However this next part I haven’t found a similar case. If someone else has her Apple ID email address they can message her and then she can message back like everything is normal, even though if she initiated the chat it wouldn’t let her. What’s going on? What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated. I have been wracking my brain trying to figure this out for her.

Hello ! I just received a 10th generation iPad for Christmas and I plan to use it for drawing. I saw that the compatibility was not the same between the different ipads for the apple pencil. Do you have any techniques for making a 2nd generation apple pencil or apple pencil pro compatible with the ipad 10 gen?

My Apple Pencil will write perfectly fine with no cutting between words and no issues, then will gradually stop writing for 1-2 seconds then start again, and then eventually stops writing altogether. The only temporary fix that works is forgetting it in bluetooth settings, which works for about a minute or two, and my problems start to happen again. I've tried every solution I've found, including resetting and hard resetting my ipad, and I even erased all my settings (factory reset) my ipad and still have issues. I have ordered new tips that come in tomorrow to see if that could be a solution, but have doubts that it will fix anything. Anyone know anything else I could do before I have to contact Apple themselves? I have had my IPad and pencil since March 24 so it has not even been a year that I have had it.
