Discussion Have you ever used your iPad with Ethernet?
galleryI tried it today for the first time fully expecting it to not work, but it just worked without any fuss or anything.
I had to put it in airplane mode because my device also connects to 5G, turning off WiFi wasn’t enough.

Question How do you use your ipad? Like a mini-computer or a bigger phone?
I am new to tablets and ipad, and confused. I keep switching between putting it on a stand with keyboard, or just using it while communting to do some work tasks. It's a struggle to do both frankly. Wondering if you've found what it works best as, for you?
Also, do you use it with a stand/keyboard or handheld like a phone?

Discussion After using an 8th gen iPad again for a bit I have some thoughts
galleryA good few months ago now, I upgraded the kids iPads and did the customary device reshuffle and ended up with my daughters 8th gen iPad sitting unused, shortly after that my grandmother had a fall and was in the hospital recovering from both a hip replacement and having a pacemaker fitted (hell of a way to get doctors to take your concerns with your heart seriously, Nan). Since this iPad was sitting around doing nothing and I figured she must have been bored out of her mind with no entertainment, her own iPad being at home 2 hours away, I loaded it up with books and outlander episodes and dropped it off to her at the hospital. I only just got it back from her when we all caught up over Christmas and have been using it casually myself since… and honestly loving it. I already have an iPad Pro m4 and Magic Keyboard and that’s great and all but the old design is undeniably so much more comfortable in the hand. It’s been such a joy to use for casual browsing and really any sort of handheld use case and the colour of the iPad itself coupled with the leather Smart Cover are just 👌👌👌 I will also probably die mad that Apple stopped making leather accessories (and wonder who the hell decided that the synthetic and flimsy BS that is FineWoven is more environmentally friendly than natural and more importantly long wearing leather products.

Discussion What is your favourite one-time purchase or free apps? No subscriptions or games included.
Hello, everyone I just got an m4 iPad Pro and I’m looking for great one-time purchase apps, I hate subscription based apps that try to extort more money out of my pockets lol. So far I have;
Procreate Obsidian

Discussion Joined the family today!
Hi! It’s been almost 14 years since I bought my first iPad (second generation). After giving it to my sister years back, I decided to buy a new one last week. I went with the 11-inch M2 iPad Air, which I’m mostly using as a work tool for personal notes and reading guitar tabs. I’ve found the Apple Pencil to be really comfortable and useful for note-taking. I might get a Magic Keyboard in the future, but for now, I’m loving everything the iPad Air has to offer.

Question iPad for presentations
Hi community. I own but don't use much my iPad Air. Due to my main job responsibilities being done on windows computer. However, I'm trying to switching completely to iOS. While using keynote, i was wondering if there is a better way to connect ipad to smart tvs/android tvs and use tablet for presentations. To use it for example as a whiteboard, when you want to demonstrate something, as I have a pencil as well. Any recommendations are welcome.

Question Light iPad + keyboard combo
I have a 13” MacBook Air (2.7 pounds), looking for something lighter for traveling. I was thinking of an iPad + keyboard combo, but shockingly some of them weight just as much (if not more). Does anyone have any suggestions? I don’t think I can feasibly pair an iPad mini (the lightest one) with a keyboard

Question Identify Case
Hi, I’m hoping someone can help me identify the folio/holder in the pic. I am looking at Nuphy keyboards and saw this setup with the keyboard, iPhone and iPad in the same holder. I’d like a setup like this but can’t find any holders like this online. It’s quite hard to see in the pic because it’s underneath everything, even if you know of a product that is similar to this setup that would be great. Thanks.

Question ConversDigital MConnect on 10th generation iPad - “Device sent an error response”
I’m encountering an error using the Mconnect UPnP/DLNA control app on an iPad.
The setup is as follows:
10th generation iPad with iPadOS 18.2
moOde Audio Player 8.3.9 / RaspiOs 11.6 on a Raspberry PI 3B+
When streaming Qobuz, after playing one song and then trying to start a second song, Mconnect reports “Device sent an error response.”
I also use Mconnect on an Android Samsung S10; that works fine, so this appears to be an iPad-specific issue, not Qobuz or moOde.
I contacted ConversDigital, supplier of Mconnect, about this, but received no response...
Any ideas?

Question Ipad Air M2 Touch issues
I've had my Ipad for about a week now and I believe there's some kind of issue with its touch sensitivity. It is unresponsive to some of my touches. It does have a screen protector, but I don't think that's the issue. I did some research and found some other people have also experienced the same thing and that it is a "grounding issue" which seems about right. When I'm touching something metal (like the power button as demonstrated in the vid) it responds properly. It also responds perfectly when it's plugged in.
I'm wondering if this is considered defective and if I should get it replaced or if this is something all air M2 users are experiencing?
UPDATE: Removed the screen protector and it works much better but still has that unresponsiveness every now and then (goes away for awhile if i touch the power button). Should i still get it checked?

Question Promotion to no promotion??
Ok so I know pro or air is asked a zillion times a day but what im really asking is how obvious do you guys think 120hz to 60 is? I’ve compared and compared and the 13in air would suit my needs. I like all the added features of the pro but it’s an extra like 3-400. I like that both have Apple Pencil pro support, but my thing is I have a pro max phone, so I’m used to seeing 120hz, my worry is if I get the air im going to constantly feel how choppy it feels compared to my phone. For instance, when I use other peoples phone I think “gosh this feels laggy, even on a out of the box 16 plus, but I don’t know if it’s because I truly can see the difference or im just tricking my mind. But like I said, im scared I’m going to feel the same way using the air, or do you guys think my eyes will adjust? Right now im thinking I need to get the pro but I love the air in most other aspects, especially the color choices, but I know the air wouldn’t be a bad choice, just no promotion :(

Discussion Have you done this? Is it a waste of money??
Is it dumb to want an ipad 11 inches and a laptop 15 inches? Should I simply get a 13 inches ipad and use it as both?
Ipad air 11 inches M3 + apple pencil = $678 Macbook air 15 inches M3 16RAM 512GB = $1,500 Total = $2,178
Ipad air 13 inches M2 512 GB + apple pencil $1,178 Keyboard = $130 Total = $1,208
Thank you!!

Question Why did my iPad pro 5th gen 12,9 slow down?
I was very happy with my old iPad pro, but unfortunately it fell in the ground and my insurance gave me a new refurbished 5th gen (similar) iPad pro. It wasn’t until I started using the new refurbished one I realized how much faster this one is. It made me question, why was my old iPad slow? I backed it up and I am running the exact same iOS and apps. Does the battery slow down over time? Other reasons?

Question Accidental cold coffee spill Ipad 10th gen
Someone accidentally spilled coffee on my ipad 10th gen, i don’t know how long it was on, but the case still looks wet, it didn’t get soaked but it did spill all over my ipad. I’m kind of scared about the front cam condensation because it means my ipad did get water damage, but how long will it show some major signs of liquid damage?
Note: my ipad is still working pretty well, i just had it turned off as of now.

Question iPad Air 4 not coming on after iOS 18 update
Hi guys,
I need some help with this.
I currently have an iPad Air 4 I got in 2021.
Recently, I did an update to iOS 18. A few days later, it went off and hasn't been on.
I've been using it before then.
Every time I connect it to power, I can feel the warmth at the back but if I try turning it on or doing hard reset, I can't see anything.
This has been up for months. I left it for about 2 months, expecting a change, but the case it still the same.
Please help.
Question iPad Magnetic Connector

Discussion [M1][lightweight coding] I am using my iPad Air like a MacBook over Macmini for coding
I got an Apple Pencil , a mx mouse , a Magic Keyboard , an external 27” monitor all connecting to my iPad Air M1.
Now , I can enjoy a lightweight coding , open at code online using GitHub login , and extend to 27” display , meanwhile on iPad screen, I can watch Netflix, open a goo note to jot/draft some idea with pencil , or even show the Spotify lyrics, switching app using keyboard shortcut….etc …
don’t underestimate the use case of iPad Air M1.
