Jim Cramer speaking has to be a bear signal
28
u/Stogies_n_Stonks 17d ago
But Cathy Wood sold palantir so it should moon by the inverse-Ark theory. Inverse Cramer, or inverse Ark?!
12
u/johndsmits 17d ago
Inverse Ark first then Cramer always that order cause ark is feed forward, where as cramer is a lag function.
Why is Cramer a lag function? When are opts/investors/hedges/markers/corps a bag holder? Retail is always the bag holder.

u/Throwmeaway50472 20d ago
He probably is a signaler for an insider trading ring that operates through his “recommendations.” That or enough fuck you money rich people hate him
169
u/thememanss 20d ago
My guess is he only recommends hype stocks. Basically waits until sentiment is already bullish to say buy, and by that time there isn't much potential upside left, and a lot of downside.
81
u/Throwmeaway50472 19d ago
That could be it, but I find his timing from what I’ve very anecdotally observed to be too coincidental to be an accident.
Maybe he’s like the smart moron that big money uses as a litmus test of when to buy/sell as he signals to normie boomers
35
u/thememanss 18d ago
Eh, he's apparently a little worse than 50/50 in reality. I was reading he is about 40% accurate or so on the buys, and 60-ish on the sells. Now granted, this is only on whether things would go up or down after his recommendation, and not on how much. It also doesn't get into managing your portfolio actively, which can weight certain gains in your favor heavily or overweight your losses.
That said, he has also been pretty epically wrong to the tune of nearly wiping people out (Bear Stearns).
Frankly, he's an info-tainer. Nobody wants to hear the mantra "Voo and Chill", which is frankly what theb ast majority should do. So he takes whatever is in the news right now, and adds a flair to it.

It is the corollary to selling the stock because the bag guy at the supermarket was checking on his portfolio. By the time it hits that level in the zeitgeist all the juice is gone.

he's basically the siren signal for the big money - they (and most of us plebs) have figured out that the market will do the opposite of what said - in this case, there's problem some option seller than needs to price to end under $100, so they called up ole Jimmy to be bullish on the stock - knowing it will have the opposite effect. Hard to prove any violations. He probably gets paid in speaking fees, book fees, ads, etc.

Bought at ~17$, sold at 45$.
Happy with my profits and moved on to something else that also made money. Money made is money made. Don't loose it to the FOMO. I knew the company had more value than what I bought it at. I don't believe it's actually worth more than I sold it at. What regards do is not my concern.
74
u/PsychologicalCat8646 19d ago
Gotta go through hundreds of comments to find sensible ones like this. It’s never too early to sell for a profit if a profit is what you’re after
25
u/bullwinkle8088 19d ago
I felt the company was worth investing in, but the newfound meme stock status and their moves to drive the stock price up for the sake of driving it up made me reevaluate and move.
I still think they are solid in their niche but I’m not comfortable with them as they are at the moment.

u/Property_6810 18d ago
This is the problem with a CEO having their pay tied to stock price through incentives. It misaligns the goal of the CEO from the goal of the business. In general, CEO's are incentivized to drive up the stock price for the sake of it. But realistically, stock price isn't super relevant to a company unless they're actively issuing stock, which they shouldn't be without good reason.

Don’t think it is worth more than you sold it at…oops. The price kept going up proving you wrong. I bought some at $12, some at $23 the last at $39 -average price of $33 a share. This stock could go to $150 ….it is worth what the market says it’s worth…not what you think it is.

u/bullwinkle8088 19d ago
I was referring to actual inherent value of the company as in the value of the goods and services it actually produces or will produce in a realistic timeframe as opposed to market manipulation.
There is no oops there and no, companies are very frequently not worth what the market says they are worth.

the one pltr post on wsb i see hit rising and it's bear bullshit because cramer said some shit. 😂
who gives a shit about cramer. or cathy. cathy sold. doesn't that negate this? 🤔
i'm not selling at 100. people don't get it. they're going to be balls deep in literally everything in no time. the only stuff that gets press releases are government/defense related. the other stuff you see on earnings in numbers but they don't have to disclose all that shit. all you have to do is listen to any ceo's talking about working with them and their efficiency increases. other ceo's aren't actively trying to sell pltr products. they're stating the increases because it helps their product in a way that would make auditors skeptical, and stating the why so openly is how to get those auditors off your back.

I’ve always wondered if Cramer is in there just to alert the big investors on what to sell or when to buy. If Cramer was used as a generally-fixed means of buying low and selling high with guarantee on return?
Ties into how I’ve wondered if big companies are shorting their own stocks when they know their product will flop?
Call me crazy, but a big investor would find means to sway their way in ensuring success. Wouldn’t they?
I could definitely be wrong of course, but it’s Just a thought.
