This normally runs every week, but we will try having it repost a new thread every 3 days for now.
Previous OIC threads will be able to be found Here

Exporting firearms, ammunition, parts and accessories from the US: most items are controlled under ITAR and you cannot, as an individual, export these items from the USA. Canada does not care in most cases. If you attempt to bring any of these items across the border yourself and you are caught, you will face prison time in the US.
If you wish to export items from the USA, use a broker such as IRUNGUNS, Aztech, or Prophet River.

Got my PAL last week and went out to pick up this beauty yesterday. It’s a Mossberg 590A1 Marinecote and shoots with one hell of a kick I love it! Can’t wait to get more pieces for the collection in the future.

Range day with crypto
galleryTook my Dad to the local range so he could blast some papers for my birthday.
Crypto handled super well and was pretty flawless until I got some weird feeds where they didn’t feed right and smushed the bullet in.
My assumption is we shot too much and it needed to be cleaned 😂
Otherwise, the crypto was amazing and the envy of A LOT of people.
I felt bad when the RSO had to keep telling people “this one is currently legal, yours isn’t so no you can’t shoot it.” And people freaking out asking why.
Also, my dads no currently a PAL holder so I have to stand over him like he’s incapable. Oh well!

My dad and I tried Skeet today for the first time. Safe to say he kicked my ass.
He got 10/25 and I got 8/25 however he got 4/4 on station 7! Insane. Anyone else try any new shooting styles or sports lately? We fell in love!

Throwback to the day my kids found a short barreled, .38 spl on the beach.
galleryIf I wasn't licensed, I probably would have kept it. Found on a well used beach in southern Ontario. The little plastic tag was interesting. I assumed it was a price tag at some point.

Where do you think the belief that Americans have about Canada not having firearms originates?
I'm Canadian, and I considered getting my Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) in my early twenties. At that time, I decided against it because I couldn't afford the associated costs, like memberships. Now that I'm older, I'm reconsidering obtaining the license. When I was in my twenties, I studied the regulations and engaged in discussions on social media. I often noticed that many Americans assume Canada has no firearms or has very little access to them. However, this isn't true; Canada has nearly 40 firearms for every 100 people. When I explain the process of obtaining a firearms license in Canada, many Americans think it's excessively restrictive compared to their own laws. They often mention how they can simply go to a Bass Pro Shop and buy an AR-15 with little difficulty. In my opinion, the application process for the PAL license is quite reasonable, I'm also surprised that many Americans don't have to take a gun safety course when acquiring firearms. I'm interested in hearing the thoughts of actual Canadians on why they think Americans hold these assumptions. I'm not writing this to criticize anyone; I'm just curious because the only person I could talk about firearms with was my grandfather, and he has passed away. I don't mean to be hurtful or condescending; I'm just genuinely curious. and When you're curious, you should ask questions.

Updated review on the Savage 42 (.410/.22wmr)
galleryAfter putting a decent optic on this gun, handling some other combo guns, and really putting it through the ringer I admit I judged this gun a bit harshly. It's now my favourite rabbit gun hands down. It is still a cheap construction and I find it hard to justify the price point but it's still useful once you put a good reddot on it.
.410 patterns well out to only 25 yards since it's a fixed IC choke. But it's super easy to slam rabbits with and you never destroy the rabbit. Slugs also group within a couple inches at 25 yards.
As for the. 22wmr you can get sub 1" groups at 25 yards and I would be confident in dropping a jack rabbit at 100 yards, maybe even more. Which is nice because it makes up for the limited range of the .410.

.410 lever actions
My .410lv brothers from Ege Arms.
Just got them this week. Tried the longer one (20") and it shoots accurate out of the box. The shorter one (12") i have yet to try out. Both rated to take 2 1/2 shells, and does have invector styled chokes.
The longer came with an "axe" like pistol grip stock, which i'm thinking of installing it on the shorter one. But i dunno if by doing so, would change its classifications, as both are non-restricted.
Anyone else owns these? Let's hear your reviews, stories & opinions.

Ruger American predator .223 oryx chassis
galleryAfter about 5 years of owning the predator in .223 and running through about a dozen factory ammo’s match/cheap. And about a dozen different combinations of hand loads. I can’t get this thing to group as I feel it should.
I’ve always wanted an oryx chassis so said screw it and got one. Looks way cooler. But I’m still on the hunt for the perfect load for consistent cloverleafs at 100m.
That being said it’s not nearly as bad as a lot of threads I’ve seen not being able to get ruger Americans to group well. Still a very fun set up.

Mineral Spirits
I'm awaiting the arrival of my SKS and I've been gathering the things I'll need to clean up the cosmoline. However I can not find mineral spirits anywhere. But I found this jug that says it's a substitute. Anyone ever use something similar?
Also did Canada ban spirits or something? Because everywhere says out of stock except substitutes.
Thanks in advance.

What was your first gun?
Years ago, my dad gave me my first gun. A .303 Enfield that his dad gave to him. I now have a son that I plan to one day give to him as well.

Got my PAL and restricted this last week in the mail. First guns.
My PAL was issued on Jan 2nd, came in the mail a few days later. Jan 2nd was the exact day of the mandatory 28 day wating period after applying.
Henry 22LR large loop lever action
Sauer SL5 semi automatic
I was planning to get a supernova ordered in as they didn't have one in stock, but got talked into the Italian hot rod. I have a range membership safety course tomorrow and will get to finally shoot this week!
Sight recommendations? Also, it's chambered in 12ga 3", holds 3+1, however it will hold 4+1 2.75". Any recommendations on magazine tube extensions to bring it up to the 5+1 legal limit? I read it was compatible with Benelli M2 tubes but I'm really not sure. Any input helps!

Lastest acquisition
Swedish M1896 Bayonet
Was checking out some pawn shops on my day off just for shits and giggles and spotted this in their corner case. Talked them down to a more than fair price. Just a little rust and pitting but overall decent

Canadian Rangers Lee Enfield
How did the Canadian Rangers maintain their rifles in such extreme conditions? Most Lee Enfields are blued so I'd assume that they would rust like crazy.

Was given an old sporterized Enfield by a neighbor, I've only put one round through it and the brass cracked almost all the way around. I know case head separation is a thing and can be dangerous but ive never experienced it. so just wondering what yall think?

Sand/dirt in brand new Sauer S100 Veil Alpine
galleryBack in August 2024 I got a Sauer S100 Veil Alpine .308, but unfortunately due to a injury I couldn't shoot anything high-powered. Went to take it out yesterday and noticed the end of the barrel had some dirt on the inside. Took it apart and found a TON of dirt all throughout the rifle, in the magazine, bolt, barrel, everywhere. Was never fired, was stored with 10 other firearms and none of them had this happen
Has anyone else experienced this from Sauer before? What should I do, it seems like no matter how much I clean there's always more.

Rasheed
Hi All, I was wondering if anyone in the great white North has any Rasheed rifles, I’ve got one myself and love it! However I’m LOOKING for a magazine, or maybe someone knows if it’s possible to modify another magazine from say an SKS to fit. I don’t care if it’s OEM just want to get the gun fully functional. It works great without mag and is near mint!

Marlin/Henry Stock
Hey guys, new here and thinking about getting my pal. I love lever guns and more than likely will get one as my first gun, I don't really hunt but am open to it so I was thinking 30-30 to keep that possibility open. It looks like Henry's are fairly easy to locate but any model of Marlin are all on backorder/not in stock. Are Marlin's usually tough to find?
