INTRODUCTION

/r/tuesday is a political discussion sub for the right side of the political spectrum - from the center to the traditional/standard right (but not alt-right!) However, we're going for a big tent approach and welcome anyone with nuanced and non-standard views. We encourage dissents and discourse as long as it is accompanied with facts and evidence and is done in good faith and in a polite and respectful manner.

PURPOSE OF THE DISCUSSION THREAD

Like in r/neoliberal and r/neoconnwo, you can talk about anything you want in the Discussion Thread. So, socialize with other people, talk about politics and conservatism, tell us about your day, shitpost or literally anything under the sun. In the DT, rules such as "stay on topic" and "no Shitposting/Memes/Politician-focused comments" don't apply.

It is my hope that we can foster a sense of community through the Discussion Thread.

. . . the fuck? Let me get this straight. A post where people are unironically using "STEMlord" to excuse a man's murder is "a really good stickied post?"

Reported as non-center-right. The entire fucking internet has gone insane. Apparently the sitewide rule of not glorifying violence is a lie, provided the "right people" die. Let's see if this sub chooses differently.

I don't think this situation is even categorizable in current political doctrine, and it's a mistake to attempt to. This is a little spark of a bona fide class war, as detached from mainstream political BS as anything has been in years. When was the last time the left was cheering the actions of a right wing terrorist like this? I can't think of any. This is a unifying and rallying moment around a familiar set of ideological battle lines that has been lost to time as both parties attempt to court it in a superficial and distorted way while continuing to owe allegiance to the corporate backing they need to win these two-party elections. This event has brought this question back into the limelight in a very direct way.

It's going to be fascinating to see what the political parties latch onto as their key issues, we're already seeing the signs of a major flip as the GOP courts labor and the Democrats are forced to reckon with the fact that their worship of degenerating social ideologies lost to a mediocre Republican platform and will probably continue to for the foreseeable future.

What's funny is it's more like class civil war (with a twist that Brian was self-made and from the middle of nowhere wheras Luigi is the definition of priviliged rich kid), but thats really how it always is with the upper middle class.

Their origins are frankly irrelevant, the fact that someone was a plucky small town boy who grows up to be the CEO of a reviled multibillion dollar corporation that has a track record of screwing people over for profit doesn't make him more endearing to anyone. And if anything the fact that even a privileged and well-connected rich kid is brought down by health insurance in the face of a hereditary chronic pain condition is symbolic, when extrapolated to the average working-class person in the same situation.
