Fixed the fan on my external HDD enclosure
galleryThe fan in my HDD enclosure hasn't worked for ages, finally decided to fix it. Had to tap into the switch wire, and ground it to a screw on the board. If I used the ground on the switch wire, the fan would only operate when the switch was off. The variable fan speed knob on the back won't work with this hack, but overall, great success!

Easy Way To Check History Of Important Audio Files??
My high end audio recorder I use for lyric/melody progression ideas disappeared, 2 days later I got it back. I'm just wondering what the easiest way is to see if any of my recording files were opened, copied or transferred?
A bit of background: I thought it was gone, stolen, looked and looked for almost 2 hours, the next morning looked again for an hour before thinking I left it in my car and it was unlocked and someone must've taken it. Told my roomate I was leaving to report it because I thought it was stolen. Turns out they took it, then supposedly plugged it into their computer "just to charge it". Plus they didn't mention it for days until I was about to report it. I'm just wanting to know if the files were transferred off or played and how to do that? This is mostly to see if they're honest(we haven't lived together that long)

The Monster Mic
After coming home for the holidays from university and bringing my PC, I noticed that the headset back home only had a combo Jack that wouldnt work on my PC.
Therefore instead of getting an adapter I made the only logical decision to tape a cord to some wire and directly to the detachable headset microphone using some medical tape.
Now I only needed a stand which my monster can that I never cleaned up, came in handy for.
Its not trash, its a future solution!

Repaired this garbage laptop with every single hinge screw thread broken off plastic. Still good enough as 3d print server.

Custom accidentally shorted out the motherboard fan headers, they're permanently at 100% 12v. Wired into the 5v rail so the customer can go over Christmas, then return to install a new fan controller

How can I keep this joint from rotating at all I want it gone
I’m thinking of wrapping a piece of flat bar around it or taping it to keep it still, any better ideas? Wish I had a 3d printer…
