Resource Failing to remove speckles and scratches
I have a scan of an old photograph of my wife, wherein the emulsion got scratched and left (mostly blue) spots and scratches. I have tried to remove them with "filters" "speckle & dust" etc... all of the choices on the fly-out for "noise" filters. I also tried "generated" fixes, which were only good at changing the subject and not eliminating the noise and scratches. I could use some advice/direction.

Resource Imac M4 / which model to choose ?
Hello ,
I am a fashion designer working on a 2019 Imac Intel Core i5 with 40 GB of Ram.
In terms of design software I only use Photoshop, on which I work on several files at a time with multiple layers per file, while each file can go up to 220 MB.
Registering all that directly on my external disc.
My current 2019 iMac is getting slow, and I am now interested in buying the new Imac M4 but hesitating if I should get the 8 or 10 cores and also how much RAM I should go for (24 GB seems to be the maximum for the non Pro model ?), for my PS use to be optimal.
Any useful insights on the matter?
Thank you all in advance

Resource Currently making a photoshop plugin that allows you to “paint” block different compression algorithms. Anyone have interest in this?
In addition to being just kind of neato, this allows you to preserve areas from compression such as text, subjects etc. it would also allow you to paint away banding etc. And you can do so with a real time preview pane before exporting.
I mean you could just save as lossless but I respect our traditions.

Resource I made a tool to remove "Made with AI" Flags because of Generative Fill
I work in social media marketing and frequently use the AI features of Photoshop (gen fill to expand a background, etc) to touch up images for upload to IG and FB. Even if 99% of the image is straight from a photograph, even a small touch up will cause the image to be tagged and there's no way to tell if it will be flagged or not before I upload it. Obviously, this is not ideal for a non-AI generated image of a real product that has been professionally photographed.
It turns out it's pretty simple to clear the metadata that Photoshop embeds that marks it as AI created, but it's a manual process and a pain in the neck to do it for a lot of images. I made a simple site that removes the AI metadata from generative filled images, so when they're uploaded they won't be tagged with "Made with AI" - my site processes images totally in the browser (think like how Figma does in-browser image manipulation) so nothing's being uploaded to a server.
Wanted to share it with you all, since it doesn't seem to be just a problem for me. Right now it works for JPGs and PNGs - send me a DM if you have any other filetypes you want me to add.

Resource Export Groups as PSDs Script
Hey all I just made a script that exports top level groups as individual PSDs.
To use it, go to `file` > `scripts` > `browse`
You can get the script here:

Or right click this and press `save link as`:

Resource Searching for plugins for Ps - Type to find/Toolbar
Hey there,
[1] Type to find + execute
I have been looking around and can't find a complete tool/plugin/extension. I am trying to find a tool that can launch with a hotkey and search actions and custom scripts and execute on 'return'. I can see various tools that almost do it like this
https://exchange.adobe.com/apps/cc/1587 ... shon-trees
(Doesn't focus search box, doesn't allow keyboard execution, no actions)
Surely something exists for Ps ?
[2]
Also is there a defacto custom toolbar available that you can create icons, launch scripts, actions ?
This looked good but seems to be unmaintained.
https://exchange.adobe.com/apps/cc/19405/lascripts
Totally willing to pay for good software!
Thanks for any tips!
A

Resource Would people use a website for free stock AI images?
The idea is that you can search for the perfect photo and if you can't find one you can generate a new AI image. Every generated image will be stored and hosted by the platform forever (or until I run out of money). The goal of the website is to be the Unsplash but for free AI images.
I spent a few weeks building a demo that you can try out for free: gen2d.dev
Any feedback would be appreciated :)
The reason I used AI Pay as a provider is because they give users a huge free trial so you can generate more than 100 images before worrying about payments. Most users will never have to worry about the cost of generating images.

Resource Made a Simple Python Tool to Work with Photoshop TPL Files
Hey folks,
I wanted to share something I recently put together—TPLParserPy. It's a small Python tool that helps you work with Photoshop TPL (Tool Preset) files by converting them into JSON format.
Why did I make this? I needed a way to easily pull out and view the details from TPL files, and I figured others might find it useful too. With this tool, you can:
- Parse TPL files to get the tool names and settings.
- Save everything into a JSON file for easy access and editing.
- Use a simple command-line interface (CLI) to get the job done quickly.
If you think this could be helpful for your projects, feel free to check it out on GitHub: TPLParserPy
If this post feels like promotion, no worries—I can take it down. My goal is just to share something that might help others.
Thanks!

Resource Is there a way to make money from making .PNG images?
I get a lot of leftover .PNGs from my photo projects that I save in a folder because I might want to use them again for something and because I don't want to just throw away something that often takes effort and time to do, so I was wondering if I could post these somewhere and make passive income? I figure a lot of them would be free too, since they're not too complex.
