High Protein Meals

I've seen a couple of things about insulin response, but is there a specific reason for high protein spiking blood sugar? Is there a point where I should start bolusing for Protein as well as carbs?

for low carb or very high protein/fat, you need to bolus for the protein/fat, add the protein and fat amounts together and treat each 30g fat/protein the same as 10g carbs
