Ben would make a great Senator Ben Shapiro Discussion/critique

What do you think about Ben replacing Marco Rubio in Florida? Ron DeSantis is a solid governor and I'm sure the thought has occurred to him already. Ben has a good understanding of our history and has good priorities. A senator without scandals would be cool.

Ben wouldn't take the press secretary job in this admin. Too many differences of opinion on things, and Ben likes his opinions. Plus a hell of a paycut. Trust, I would love to see it because he would shred the reporters, but being a press secretary for a president you don't fully agree with is a hard job because you don't speak for yourself, you speak for the president.

I think ben would take the press secretary gig. If he does, daily wire becomes the establishment media. His business goes from being an online show, to possibly surpassing Fox. He's already doing a bunch of other stuff. He could drop all that and keep his show and be the press secretary. He'll be busy, but I bet he could do it.

Ben does not want to be an elected/appointed politician. He has way more influence as a podcaster and owner of Daily Wire. There is no upside for him.

Maybe, but I believe there is a rule in congress that they can’t profit from a Podcast so that would suck for him.

I generally don’t understand why anyone would support Gaetz. Dude is clearly a pedophile and has single handily done more to damage the GOP image than any other politician. I’m all about clearing the swamp, but Gaetz is the swamp, he clearly has enjoyed the spoils of nepotism and hopefully will now go away.

Is there some conviction or private settlement? Anonymous accusations? Not that any of that is definitive one way or another but I legitimately am having trouble parsing the I’ve found.

The difference is that there seem’s to be electronic records supporting the misconduct and very detailed accounts of what happens. And while certainly circumstantial the fact that he resigned from congress days before that ethics report came out makes me even more suspicious of his behavior.

Also, in Kavanaugh’s confirmation, the allegation came out because of his appointment recommendation. This Gaetz investigation has been going on for years and is the reason he ousted McCarthy. McCarthy would not put a stop to it, so in order to save himself he created that situation last year which made the GOP look like an absolute circus.

I mean, the McCarthy ousting alone would be enough for me not to support him. But the fact that these allegations seem entirely credible and they are publicly coming out makes me think he is guilty and utterly disqualified to be in congress or public service at all.

I read a theory on another sub that if Gaetz didn't get the AG nod he was going to use the time to gain support for a gubernatorial race in two years when DeSantis terms out.

Have you ever been to Zion National Park in Utah? That's where the real Zionists are. I've been there two times, man, it's awesome. Is there a state that doesn't have a lake or city named Zion? What about Shiloh? What about Salem? Salem, Mass goes way back in our history. It's also the name of the capitol of Oregon. Maybe they will go full Zionist and change the names to Jerusalem. "In God we trust" is still our national motto. What about that "Gideon's Bible" song the Beatles wrote? That was really bad. Gideon was a Zionist that fought for his country.

Others will have something to say, but the senate will be Republican led for the next two years. That leadership is more respectful toward religious liberty than the Democrats in my opinion. Also JD Vance would likely be available to break ties in the senate in the event that Shapiro was absent.

The company moved to Nashville due to the media infrastructure there, and he moved to Florida.
