Yet with these fast approvals, I’m on day 70 for an individual f4 😬

Was gonna say that I remembered posts from people saying it had been over a year back then. At that time, I ordered my first 2 (and only) cans and knew it would be a long wait but it was what it was. 2 weeks or so later after I placed my order, I was notified that the FFL that I chose, and who already had possesion of the cans, was sutting down their business.

When this happens, they notify the ATF of orders they are in possesion of. ATF fast tracks those orders simpy because the FFL is responsible for the items until they can legally release them. Ended up just shy of 3 months, felt like I won the lottery. Sad thing was the FFL/shop going out of business. They were very nice, informative and didn't judge newbies (I definitely was in regards to suppressors), they really enjoyed what they did. It just got to be too much dealing with the state and their never ending changing requirements and codes and what not.

If my next can is approved in under 30 days, I am going to send a thank-you card to the new head of the NFA division. I hear he's the one we have to thank for the fast approvals, because he cut the busywork and modernized the process.

Some still are, especially when using a trust.

I’m on day 123.  Seems like if you aren’t instant NICS approval then that is still the case.
