The one ☝️ thing I will say is to get raid of the things that easily entice you into the coven and verge of Lust Hebrews 12:1, James 1:14 and this can be achieve by the help of the Holy Spirit whom have been sent to help, teach, direct us etc John 16:13,Romans 8: 26a

It is a gradual process but with God involve and you been intentional and desperate about it in prayers you will be free from it’s yoke and shackle

It doesn’t have to be food right. Can it be anything that I do more than spen time with God like my phone?

Sure but have you seen emmmhhh the theory behind abstaining from food is that, that’s the fundamental and first thing you body needs and has been taking for so long so starting with food because if you do away with the one thing your body have been depending on since you start to exist doing away with the auxiliary things that came along like your phone etc is going to be easier so it will be good if you abstain from food if only you don’t have any health complications with regards to that.

However looking at you response I will say at least you should start with a half day fast which is from 6am-12pm

it's good to know a young person is focusing on doing God's will. The best thing to do is continue to build a strong relationship with God and Christ. Philippians 2:12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. When we learn to have godly gear, it will help us control our fleshy desires. We do that by studying the Bible, by our associates, by the things we listen to, and watch. And understand you're not in this alone. We all are fighting to do God's will.

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

This is how the devil has held many children of God in bondage: the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

There is a point in addiction where a demon gets involved. They attach themselves to the individual, bind them and nothing they do can set them free. They are stuck in a cycle of defeat. You will hate what you do each time you do it because there is a pure spirit in you reacting to the bad that you have introduced into your system, but after repenting, you will return to doing it again. Christ calls this demon the strongman.

Mark 3:27

In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house.

Fortunately, Christ has given the believer authority over the powers of darkness (yes, they do have power).

Luke 10:19

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Mark 16:17-18

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

The believer, not God, shall cast out devils. Force the demon out in the name of Jesus. Mark 16:17, Mark 5:8, Mark 9:25. Command the spirit of pornography, [insert sin] to leave you in the name of Jesus and never return.

After this give your heart, mind, and body to God. Tell God "Heavenly Father, I give you my heart, I give you my mind, I give you my body and soul in the name of Jesus." Let this be your daily consecration.

The porn addiction isn't universal but conditional; for men in our society it develops in stages: 1. curiosity about women's bodies, 2. objectification, or sexualization of the women's bodies, 3. addiction to dopamine release while looking at erotic material, 4. numbing to porn content and switching to hardcore porn. While step 1 is normal for boys of 5-9 years of age, if not addressed, will switch to step 2 when a boy is introduced to sexual content, erotica, porn (typically by the age of 16). It is possible to prevent it from developing past stage 1, but if a man or a woman is already in 2, 3 or 4, addressing the issue becomes complicated, but possible if a person has a proper relationship with God, spouse, and his/her own body being God's creation. Association of beauty with sex creates porn addiction. Just as you wouldn't want to have sex with a beautiful sunset, the same way you shouldn't want to have sex with a beautiful woman. To do that you need to stay away from social conditioning of Hollywood and social media.

Just need to be more focused on God Than looking at Girls and stuff

Your brain is hardwired and designed to think about girls and stuff.

I know but it’s on a way deeper level at this point and I started to do things that I’m not really proud of as a child of God.

There is nothing whatsoever in the Bible that suggests nor implies that masturbation is a sin. Nothing. Zero, Zip. Nada.

Here is what the largest Presbyterian denomination says about it:

We find no evidence for any theological, psychological or medical strictures against masturbation per se. The medical myths concerning the ominous consequences that might follow masturbation (diminished intelligence, aggravated acne, impotence in normal intercourse, etc.) have long since been dispelled. On the contrary here is nearly unanimous medical opinion that no physical harm to the body is produced even by frequent masturbation.6 There is even some argument for the positive values of masturbation in re- lieving sexual tension and attendant physical discomfort in the pelvic region, in contributing to psychosexual development, and in providing a satisfactory alternative form of sexual gratification to single persons or to married persons during periods of separation, where intercourse would be inappropriate or impossible.

Masturbation is often one of the earliest pleasurable sexual experiences which is identifiably genital, we consider it essential that the church, through its teachings and through the attitudes it encourages in Christian homes, contribute to a healthy understanding of this experience which will be free of guilt and shame. The ethical significance of masturbation depends entirely on the con- text in which it takes place. Therefore, we can see no objection to it when it occurs as a normal developmental experience or as a deliberately chosen alternative to inappropriate heterosexual activity. We can see valid ethical questions raised about masturbatory practices which become or which inhibit normal heterosexual development. In most instances, however, we believe that masturbation is morally neutral and psychologically benign.

Ok but I still have a personal conviction for it. I feel it’s wrong and the Bible teaches if you go against your own personal convictions , it is a sin. Just like Alcohol . Some Christians don’t really have a problem with drinking as long as they don’t become drunk or addicted. But some Christians don’t drink because they have a personal conviction that the Lord has placed in them maybe because they had an alcohol problem in their past they just broke free from. And the conviction keeps them from going back to that addiction.

If you have a spiritual conviction about it then don't do it.

Alcohol is not a good analogy. Alcohol harms your body and your brain. Masturbation doesn't.

“If you have a spiritual conviction about it then don’t do it.” I’m not trying to be rude when I say this but that’s the point of this post I’m trying to stop but it’s challenging and hard.

“Masturbation doesn’t” Yeah you’re right but it can become an idol in my life and cause a rift in my relationship with God

bruh lustful thoughts are considered sinful, and it's these thoughts that lead to masturbation since masturbation usually involves fantasizing about something sexual or whatever

You do not know what the word in the original Greek language that is translated "lust" actually means. Unfortunately, few Christians are willing to tell you.

u/PartyPacket 7d ago

What is it??

1

u/Byzantium Christian 7d ago

The word is "epithumeo" and it means to desire something strongly, intending to get it if you can or could.

The word is also used for Godly men wanting Godly things.

But in the context of sex, it means that you are looking to have sex with the person that you are thinking about.

I seriously doubt that when you masturbate, you do it with the intention of getting or wanting a real person to have sex with.

Haven't you ever thought to yourself that maybe you wrong and it is actually a sin? (why am I getting deja vu)

Id recommend asking God to give you the strength to overcome lust (James 1:5) and trusting and relying on Him and not your own strength (proverbs 3:5-6)

Have you talked to your parents about this?

Don't listen to nutcases here claiming you can do some ritual to "cast out a demon". Talk to your parents about this and be honest.
