Research I’ve been using the Growatt Shine app for the past few months, and I’m thoroughly disappointed with it. So, I decided to conduct some research to identify areas for improvement.
I’ve been using the Growatt Shine app for a few months now, and, honestly, it hasn’t been the best experience. The app feels like it’s lacking in several areas, and I’m determined to dig deeper into what can be improved.
To do this, I’ve put together a short survey to gather feedback from fellow Growatt users like you. If you’re using the app, I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts, what works, what doesn’t, and what features you’d like to see improved. Your feedback will not only help me understand the common pain points.
If you’re interested in sharing your experience, here’s the link to the survey:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScoaVWUFaz4pOBPUTR8VAVoSeE2P9a-C7uOYVLzOBmPiUIrEg/viewform
Please note that this is not an official survey or design initiative from Growatt. I am conducting this as an independent case study driven by curiosity and a passion for improving user experiences. Your feedback will remain confidential and will only be used for research purposes.

Literature/Nonfiction Looking for Advice
Hi everyone,
I’m new to the field of GPU hosting and cloud infrastructure, but I’m currently working on an exciting project and could use some advice and ideas from the community.
Here’s the situation: We are setting up a 999 kWp solar park in Lower Bavaria, Germany, producing 100% green energy. The idea is to use part of the energy to run a GPU cluster for tasks like AI and machine learning workloads, while the remaining energy is fed into the grid.
As someone just starting in this space, I’m unsure about the best way to proceed: • Which platforms are ideal for hosting GPUs and renting out computing power? • Are there specific hardware configurations that are beginner-friendly but scalable for growth? • What are potential challenges I should anticipate when combining renewable energy with GPU hosting?
If you’ve worked on similar projects or have experience with GPU hosting, I’d love to hear your thoughts, recommendations, or anything else I should consider.
Thanks in advance for your insights!

Aesthetics Fixed Some Right-Wing Propaganda on Facebook to be more Solarpunk
galleryI was scrolling Facebook and came across this post that looked cute and gave me "I want to live in this nice little world" vibes, but then I looked closer at it and saw it was right-wing conspiracist antivaxer propaganda. That made me sad, because I feel like the world the picture depicts is only really achieveable through a solarpunk-esque, leftist future, yet they were arguing from the wrong end of the political spectrum. So I decided to use my super amazing MS Paint skills to change it to align better with my solarpunk-influenced values. Just wanted to share with some like-minded folks, thought it might give you all a chuckle.

Ask the Sub How to run a Solarpunk D&D 5e campaign?
Hello all, I have been recently enamored with the Solarpunk aesthetic and thought it would be really interesting to run a d&d campaign based around that kind of society. My main issue is that I'm struggling to think up how to shape the world in general and how to handle some of the more mundane issues. A couple of the ideas I've had so far is occupations such as someone sweeping snow off of solar panels in colder regions, or various farming professions like coral farming. I'll take advice or inspiration on anything in the world that I might be able to add. Thank you!

Ask the Sub Need feedback on a game design, IRL eco action to in-game updates
Hi! I have a game I made that's free to play and is something like Tropico meets Dorfromantik meets Climate. You play a dictator charged with eco city building in a simple puzzle. We want to make a paid expansion that is a management game that reflects your real life eco action. For more details and to help guide the creation of this game, I would like to invite DMs so that I can carry out some qualitative research as to how best to serve ecologists with this game!

Literature/Fiction I would like to add a book to the media page: Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
https://www.reddit.com/r/solarpunk/wiki/media/books_fiction/
This is the media page that, according to the underlined info, by this day wasn't edited in 3 years. Can I ask admins to change that by adding one more book?
I think there must be someone who will also back up my claim that the book below is Solarpunk in nature.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parable_of_the_Sower_(novel))
"Parable of the Sower is a 1993 speculative fiction novel by American writer Octavia E. Butler. It is set in a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and social inequality. The novel follows Lauren Olamina, a young woman who can feel the pain of others and becomes displaced from her home. Several characters from various walks of life join her on her journey north and learn of a religion she has envisioned and titled Earthseed. The main tenets of Earthseed are that "God is Change" and believers can "shape God" through a conscious effort to influence the changes around them. Earthseed also teaches that it is humanity's destiny to inhabit other planets and spread the "seeds" of the Earth."
This book takes place in 2024 and continues to later years. It talks about slow decline, social disparity, coming back to slavery, and for a while it's also about not losing hope, being ready for ecological collapse, rebuilding for the better, and the importance of teaching, reading, and skill-sharing. It's not about building utopias, it's about surviving this world so that in the future, we can build utopias.
Btw don't be distracted by the allure of the new age or any kind of belief system, the main protagonist is the child of a priest and she is a non-believer, who is creating a very atypical reasoning-based religion with no deities.

Please, those who read it and are in for adding it to our resources, upvote this so that admin can see the suggestion, and, I also think it would make sense that if it is decided to add/not add, this thread can be closed.

Project Capstone
Hello, I am a Grade 12 STEM student currently taking a capstone subject for the first time. I am brainstorming and searching for a good capstone project. I thought of creating a powered window wiper inspired by car windshield wipers because my brother said it is only powered by wiper motor but it is too heavy for a prototype model. What motor do I use instead of wiper motor? Do you think this is possible?
Please! I really need help😭

Literature/Fiction Dying Light 2 and Solarpunk
While I’m well aware that Solarpunk ideals don’t require the end of the world, I can’t help but be amazed at some of the ideas in Dying Light 2 that could be used today:
Roof Gardens that provide food for inhabitants and protection from zombies during the day.
The inhabitants of the Bazaar and their communal way of life.
The role of ‘craftmasters’ and how engineering focuses on aiding survivors rather than just making weapons.
The use of mobility and melee weapons rather than relying on brute force and firearms.
Am I wrong in seeing these Solarpunk aspects in such a game? What are some video games that do a better job exemplifying Solarpunk ideas? Comment down below.
