Outdoor dining + parking
I'm eating lunch with a friend on Saturday who cannot walk long distances and is a vegetarian. What suggestions do you have for a good restaurant with outdoor seating (preferably heated) plus a garage very close by that's not ridiculous?

Best Chinese Restaurant open on Christmas Day in SF?
I've typically gone to Fang, as it's near the Metreon (stereotypical movie + Chinese food dinner tradition). However, this year we're going to a different theater that's less crowded [It seems a lot of folks are going to the cinema & have snatched up the best reserved seats]. We could still go to Fang, but we are also considering Dragon Beaux & Palette Tea House; we have reservations & now need to finalize our choice for tomorrow.
Also curious to hear recommendations for other spots, though I doubt we could make it happen this year. I also contemplated a few others like Empress by Boon, Mister Jiu's, and Blue Whale Restaurant & Lounge. I did Wonderland Restaurant one year, but it closed a few years ago; learned one really should have reservations, as we couldn't walk-in & get a table at House of Nanking, as we had wanted.

Restaurant with wontons without shrimp?
Does anyone know a good place that serves wonton soup without any shrimp? My girlfriend is allergic to shrimp and it’s hard to tell from the menu if a place we want to go to will have shrimp in their wontons

Late night eats near Orpheum
Planning on seeing Hamilton next week which will end around 10:45pm. Is there anything in the area that's walkable for a bite after?

Best scallops in the city?
My partner has never had scallops, and can be kinda particular about textures. I've only had them a couple times and tried to describe the lovely texture of scallops. But he should experience it first hand. Where should we go?

Selling two tickets for 11/3 Big Bad Wolf x Yuji Ishikata Sold-Out collab dinner!
Hi all, I recently bought tickets to this lovely dinner but unfortunately my partner has had a family emergency and we cannot make the event on November 3 at 6:30 PM in SoMa.
The dinner will be a Korean Japanese menu, and natural wine and other goodies are included as a part of the meal:
1- Kabocha jook with mochi, and black garlic oil.
2- grilled squid With pine nut purree, persimmon and a lime-fish sauce vinaigrette
3- meat Jun Wagyu, dashi Demi glaze, chive kimchi
4 Dduk boki Kimchi-crimini cream sauce with shaved ankimo
5- spicy tofu seafood stew -nabe
6 - dessert. Banana milk ice cream with Injeolmi toffee crumble.
The two tickets were $275 total but I don’t mind negotiating a lower price. If anyone wants verification about ticket transfer, you may inquire with the host via: https://www.instagram.com/bigbadwolfsf?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Thanks so much! Please DM me if interested.

Updated post: San Francisco Cooking Club initial potluck this Sunday!
Hello again! Thanks to everyone who responded to my Doodle. Our initial potluck will be THIS SUNDAY! November 3rd, 1-3pm at the Francisco Park picnic tables.
Please bring any potluck friendly dish and a drink to share if interested! RSVP would be helpful so we can make sure to have enough cups/plates, etc. If you have any questions or ideas for the get together feel free to message me or my co-organizer on reddit: u/Adorable-Fan389, u/Huckleberry2419
Info from the original post for those just joining the party:
I’m trying to gauge interest for a cooking/dinner club here. I feel like there are so many people who are looking for ways to build community in San Francisco, and I’d love to do that through a mutual passion for cooking/hosting/a good old dinner party. Maybe we start with a potluck in the park? Then we feel out the vibe, and chat about logistics/fun details for this sort of club?
For aesthetic reference think: Alison Roman, Molly Baz. How fun would it be to find a group to share food/wine/recipes with?!

Unexpected layover in SF - looking for last minute dinner rec
Coming in from Chicago on a layover but our flight is delayed so we have an unexpected night in SF and are looking for somewhere great to eat that doesn't require a reservation. Staying near the airport, but willing to grab an Uber to any part of town, and not opposed to eating late. Budget is ~$250 for 2 people. Thank you!

I'm off for today! There was a lot of request and I wasn't able to get through everything. I'll get back to everyone tomorrow!
I'm a foodie and I've spent way too much time researching and finding the best spots - I've tried a lot of SF's food scene from grubby to Michelin star.
I'll manually find something according to your preferences and occasion: dietary restrictions, cuisine, budget, vibes, and availability.
Here's my number: 628-287-4413 or message me on Reddit. I'll just be doing this for today only since I got off work early :) No strings attached

Nice Thanksgiving Meals at SF Restaurants? (Actual Thanksgiving day)
Hi all! SF native but have never spent Thanksgiving in the city, usually visited family elsewhere. This year we're staying and it's just my dad, brother and I so instead of cooking we're looking to go somewhere upscale with great food and with all of the Thanksgiving classics. Anyone been to good Thanksgiving meals in the past?

Tiya vs Abaca
I'm in town for work for 1 dinner next Monday and was looking at Tiya or Abaca tasting menus, anyone have thoughts on comparing the two or suggestions for other places in similar price range or slightly higher for a Monday night for single diner?

Lahore Karahi & Pizza - 16th & Valencia
Tandoori chicken leg, cheese naan, mango lassi $16-17
I asked the older man working there if this was related to Lahore Karahi in the TL he said it was. Further investigation on yelp shows this place, which was once called Alhambra, is run by the father of the owner of the Lahore Karahi in the TL.
Really good vibe in there seemed like many of the patrons were regulars and very friendly with the people working there.
Service is a little slow, but you can see the workers are preparing your food from scratch.
Overall I thought it was pretty good. The pizzas in the display were always a turn off for me in the past but it’s good Pakistani food.

Dim sum carts
What places still do dim sum carts today? I know lots of restaurants have stopped the carts so wondering if anyone has been to a restaurant recently that still has carts. Thanks!

Fine dining restaurants that are open on Sunday or Monday?
I plan to be in town from Sunday-Wednesday a few months from now, and am noticing that most high end restaurants are closed Sundays and Mondays. If you had to pick two between State Bird Provisions/Foreign Cinema/Kokkari Estiatario/7 Adams/Nari/Kin Khao/The Progress/Niku Steakhouse what would you choose?

Atelier Crenn :Reservation Transfer 9/24 @ 8:30pm at Cost (through Tock)
Hi,
I have a dinner reservation for two people for Atelier Crenn on 9/24 at 8:30 PM that I can’t make it to.
The reservation also has a zero proof and a cocktail pairing with it.
The restaurant doesn’t seem to have any availability for the day, So if you’re on the waitlist or interested, please DM.
I’m willing to let these go at cost through a Tock transfer.
Update: Transferred to someone. This is no longer available.
