Discussion [ModPost] Don't feed the trolls. Please use the report button for this kind of behavior.
Don't waste your time getting into internet slapfights with trolls. After the US election, there's been an influx of users here looking to get into arguments and make people mad.
If you find yourself 3 comments into a discussion and it's dissolved to ad hominems or no movement from either side, just stop. Report the other user and move on with your life.
Report people who are clearly trolling so the mod team can make a determination on if it is ban worthy or not.
As stated in previous mod announcements, my goal is to pretty much let anything go in this sub with minimal mod intervention, as long as submissions and comments are on topic. But the mod team has no tolerance for trolling, antagonistic behavior, and otherwise being a shit head.

HUMINT Bias: SIGINT in the Novels of John le Carré
This article originally appeared in 1992 in a National Security Agency publication.
The nine espionage novels John le Carre has written since 1964 have been widely read and analyzed on many levels-authenticity, political slant, and even literary symbolism. This article will look at the ways in which SIGINT has been portrayed in those novels-how often, how accurately, and to what effect. It will also demonstrate that, while le Carre has often found it handy to use SIGINT as a plot device, he does not hold SIGINT or the other technical intelligence disciplines in particularly high regard.

Am I being spied on?
I had someone in my house yesterday leave a bag. The lights in the house were on, then they completely shut off and our router was reset - this happened twice. While this was happening something was buzzing in the bag at the exact moment the lights would go out and the router would reset. Could this be some kind of bug? The person whose bag it was was pretty far away at the time. Could it be a bug or something triggered remotely? Inside the bag was a Chipolo airtag, selfie stick with wired handles, and two selfie lights. Could the device be sneaked into those things?

Discussion DIA Poly then... silence?
I did my DIA polygraph and have not heard anything back in almost a month. I was told I passed by the examiner and that I would get an email in about a week... what gives?
I already have my TS SCI and finished all other tasks for my onboarding.

Some OSINT Tools For Intelligence Collection
- Reddit OSINT Bot: Developed a bot to systematically collect comments and posts based on specified trigger words and subreddits. Data is stored in a structured format, enhancing its usability for analysis (JSON file). https://imgur.com/a/reddit-osint-bot-TIT30Ri
- Reddit AI Bot: Designed an AI-powered bot leveraging GPT-Neo (1.3 billion parameters) to generate replies to posts and comments on selected subreddits.
- Reddit User Data Bot: Built a tool to aggregate and export all comments and posts from a specified Reddit user, with output structured into a JSON file.
- Telegram Data Collection Bot: Created a bot to collect and archive chats from specified Telegram groups, saving the data in a structured JSON file.
Next step would be sentiment analysis for both marketing and intelligence related purposes.

Degrees & Education
Maybe a dumb question (give me a break, i’m 15 LOL.) , but does my university degree need to correlate with intelligence if i’m planning to go to the military (intelligence officer) & do paid education then work in intelligence (either csis or a private agency)
I could do Languages, Pol Sci, or International Relations— but i want a more flexible/versatile major. So, should I major in something more connected to intelligence or should I choose my own major?

Belarus Travel Advisory
travel.state.govReissued after periodic review without changes to Level 4: Do Not Travel status.
Do not travel to Belarus due to the Belarusian authorities’ arbitrary enforcement of local laws, the risk of detention, the continued facilitation of Russia’s war against Ukraine, the potential of civil unrest, and the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens residing in or traveling to Belarus. U.S. citizens in Belarus should depart immediately.

WW2– Survival population. Thoughts?
reddit.comMany analysts believe that after World War II, Russia’s devastating population losses created a demographic imbalance that requires strategic immigration policies to restore stability and ensure long-term growth. They argue that addressing this challenge demands immigrant groups that align with Russia’s cultural values, resilience, and military capabilities.
Some experts advocate for a well-structured, long-term program focused on integrating Kurdish ethnic groups into Russia. They suggest that such an initiative could preserve Kurdish cultural identity while enhancing regional stability, particularly in areas such as Syria, Iran, and parts of Turkey. Proponents highlight the Kurds’ adaptability, resilience, and alignment with Soviet-era military doctrine, emphasizing their potential to strengthen Russia’s security framework and strategic depth.
Analysts also point out that Iraq’s Kurdish region already serves as a critical buffer zone between Iran, Turkey, and the Arab states. They believe its stabilizing role should remain intact, ensuring continued regional balance. At the same time, they argue that efforts should focus on providing security guarantees and long-term development opportunities for Kurdish communities outside Iraq.
Overall, this perspective supports the idea that such a program could address Russia’s demographic challenges while promoting economic growth, defense readiness, and cultural preservation. Advocates see it as a mutually beneficial partnership grounded in shared values, strategic interests, and military cooperation, securing lasting stability and sustainability for both Russia and the Kurdish populations involved.
