Homeless broke our complex hot tub jiggly
Our hot tub was broken for a few days, and we all chalked it up to maintanence not doing their job and something else broke. That was indeed not the case.
THE CASE: A homeless man had jumped the fence, dumped soap all in it and was bathing himself in it, making it a bubble bath.

Better than a homeless orgy in your Prius.

please tell me that didn't happen to you 😭

u/doorman666 Aug 24 '23
No. Lol. It's a reference to The Other Guys. Will Ferrell's Prius gets stolen, and "Dirty Dan and The Boys" have an orgy in it.

My roommate had her Toyota stolen and that’s exactly what happened inside it before she got it back xD so so so many condoms. We used this reference every time she talked about it

Just an inside joke for those that have seen the film. If you see it, put it on!

I was seeing a lady who worked as a security guard at several apartment complexes around town and let me tell you that’s probably one of the most sanitary things that’s happened in those hot tubs. You couldn’t pay me to soak in one. Trust me when I say your neighbors have done some heinous (sometimes literal) shit in that tub and he did you all a favor taking it out of commission.

It could be worse. Better that they used it as a bathtub than a toilet.

It's OK. Umbrella Properties has millions in assets and can definitely afford a new.

u/deputyprncess Aug 23 '23
But we all know they won’t.

u/Ent_Trip_Newer Aug 23 '23
I have rented from them for 5 years. I have nothing nice to say about them.

They bought the property we were living in and never actually fixed a thing. Maintenance came four or five times just to fix our dryer that wouldn’t dry. In the end he was telling me to stop it mid-dry cycle and clean the lint trap, then start it again.
He actually said the words “yeah, it’ll dry faster that way!” and when I gave him a really confused look he elaborated with “well because you’re cleaning it out and the air will circulate better!” Needless to say, the dryer never got fixed and we moved out as fast as we could.

Our dishwasher was installed incorrectly twice. They took the hose that drained dirty water from the bottom and ran upward to the sink. Water doesn't flow up naturally, obviously, so the hose would become full of mold and mildew, which would spread to the dishwasher. No amount of vinegar or cleaning could stop it. We now spend an hour a day hand washing dishes.

u/deputyprncess Aug 24 '23
OH! Yeah they pulled that one on us too! And then came back another time to fix it and acted like we were the ones who did it wrong!

Life circumstances have allowed me to receive credible testaments of Umbrella with regards to trades contractors, and their owner's behavior at church.
Dude is fully convinced of his own righteousness, the amount of sun shining out of his ass, his own humility, and the necessity of casually highlighting those things at church, and the company is a bunch of miserable nickel and dimers willing to cut any corner to get the cheapest work done.

Someone dumps soap in the salmon fountain in the park blocks a few times a year. Don’t know if they bathe in it, or it’s just a little vandalism.

I'd imagine if I were in that boat I'd do the same. We are all human. Bottom line.

Imagine having a "mental disability" in a society that forces thier citizens to conform to one way of contributing. Then having no guidance or understanding of who or how you can be a helpful productive member of society. Then becoming homeless because you can't mentally or physically do a 8-5 job. Then not having anything to protect. You're probably uncapable of that kind of insight or imagination.

Honestly respect to the guy for finding a way to wash up, sucks its broken but hey thats for your landlord to deal with, not you
Edit: I’d bet money that 90% of the people who are downvoting me complain about how the homeless people in town smell. At least this guy isn’t contributing to that issue.

Umbrella can use the $2k they stole from me years ago towards it. Considering they do that to hundreds of people a year it shouldn’t be a problem for them.

"Hey man, good for him for getting a car, sucks for the dude he stole it from"

u/Snoo1643 Aug 24 '23
Man didn’t steal the fucking hot tub, grow up stealing a car has nothing to do with someone taking a bath

u/InfectedBananas Aug 24 '23
Then let them use your bath if you care so much about it.

u/Snoo1643 Aug 24 '23
I dont have one, but I genuinely wouldnt care if a homeless person used the hottub in my apartment complex. Im not paying for repairs after all, and my apartment complex definitely has the money to deal with repairs

He stole a few thousands of dollar in damages, no different than stealing a car.

u/Snoo1643 Aug 24 '23
Boo hoo, poor landlords who have to fix things that get broken. Time to bust out the world’s smallest violin.
2
u/InfectedBananas Aug 24 '23
Play the violin, then let me get a shot at it when it's your stuff they steal or break.
1
u/Snoo1643 Aug 24 '23
Piss and cry about it lmao, at least half a dozen people in the comments are talking about how the company that owns the property this happened at fails to fix shit and steals money from the people living there. If you wanna complain about theft, bitch at them
2
u/2tusks Aug 24 '23
hey thats for your landlord to deal with, not you
You can bet it will be passed on to the residents.
3
u/Z0ooool Aug 24 '23
Yup, it's the same "logic" these entitled people have as shoplifting.
"Hurr hurr, it's WinCo's problem to deal with, not yours!" Not realizing/not caring that the cost is passed down to all of us.

Wow, your life must be great, if a broken hotub is pissin' you off enough to bitxh about someone who live unprotected on the streets. 👏
38
u/DuckDown00 Aug 23 '23
I mean they're upset something they pay for in their rent is broken by someone who doesn't live there misusing it.
11
u/purplemistprincess Aug 23 '23
the complex almost never fixes the pool or hot tub so I'm just grateful it works. literally the 1st time this has ever happened so yeah it was a shocker to me and everyone.
13
u/InfectedBananas Aug 24 '23
Imagine coming to the defense of trespassing people destroying property that people pay to use.
