Welp, They Finally Broke Our Bud Datto Media

He's so right. There's a suit at Bungo that got paid for this decision. More concerned with the next few months of $$ than the next few years of players.

Hell, I played a fair amount of D2 at launch and was thinking of getting back into it recently, at this point I have no goddamned idea what I have to buy or what content is relevant for catching up (both in terms of plot and light level)

Can't imagine you guys see many completely brand new players if even someone who's trying to return is having this much trouble

Exactly, the forsaken pack shouldn't be a thing nor the dungeon keys.

Make dungeon keys part of the season or the expansion.

In addition to that, Shadowkeep, beyond light, lightfall and the final shape should be put in an order, and in-game cutscene(or better a mission) should exist to explain what happened in each season.

If bungie wants revenue, they should make stuff more approachable for new players instead of confusing the hell out of them.

As someone who just started about a week and a half ago, I’m so fucking lost, lol. I played D1 from start to finish and then moved on to other things shortly after D2 release, so I kinda know some of the lore, but I don’t even know where to start as far as content I should be doing.

Currently about 1770, so I’m doing nightfalls now. Almost finished unlocking the strand class fully, and trying to prep to raid. I guess just do the weekly stuff that gives good gear, and then focus on unlocking stasis as well? Not really sure what to farm for other than that.

Its wild how they don't give direction to the journey to "now". Forsaken(Dreaming City/Last Wish raid), ShadowKeep(moon missions/raid), Beyond Light(stasis missions/Deep stone crypt raid), Witch Queen(Throne world/Mars crafting table/Vow raid), Lightfall(Strand campaign/Root of Nightmares) is the order of expansions but we have Vault of Glass/Kings Balls/Scrotums End raids reprised just for fun I guess or bc making new raids is HARD!🤣 Best I can say is play what you want, Grind for weapon patterns on good craftable weapons(Most of them come from raids but most of the raids are at 1600 power so your GTG). Dungeons offer good stuff also. Farm good high stat armor from moon dungeon when it's up on the weekly featured bc its fast with great chance of stats you'll want. Artifice armor comes from master dungeons which is better but harder/higher lvl cap. Look up current meta for good dps options if need be. Monument of lost light offers good exotics if you have the currency needed. Get Witherhoard, And Outbreak Perfected 1st would be my suggestions bc they're so good but that's just my 2 cents. Exotics with anti champion built in are handy. Wishender is S-tier exotic bow you'll want but kinda complicated to acquire so YouTube be a good bet on steps guide. Spoils from raiding are important for some good stuff so stack/save them and use em wisely. Just some tips from a vet with far too much time in Destiny.😂 YouTube it if in doubt but look at date of video bc meta shifts can render some useless. Any questions just shoot, And I'll answer if possible. Best of luck. It'll be a blast for awhile most likely.
