Taken in to custody immediately too. Good.

167

u/unweariedslooth Sep 23 '22

This is a big win for him he gets to start on his sentence now. The quicker he goes in the faster he gets to watch Fox again. The only sad part is he's going to miss all the Trump leaning hard into Q, as his burning ship sinks.

57

u/SkullLeader Sep 24 '22

Hopefully the judge will tell him to take his time served and shove it.

64

u/unweariedslooth Sep 24 '22

He broke his conditions to stay out that's definitely reasonably likely.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '22

Most Fox viewers will miss this.

41

u/MascaraHoarder Sep 24 '22

good because he will most definitely commit another violent crime.

2

u/blaze980 Sep 25 '22

On the upside, he probably wouldn't be very good at it.

I'm curious - how did they know he had a knife in his pocket that day? Is there footage of him showing it/talking about it? He was never searched that day, right? Did he just........tell them "hey by the way, also had a knife on me, don't forget to write that down".

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

He is likely that stupid, yes.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

Actually he wasn't very scary to me on 1/6. He never went for Officer Goodman when he had lots of his own backup and he completely deflated once there were 3 officers and one with a long gun. So Jensen never scared me much except for how stupid he must be believing in Q.

Still I hope he gets the max for being that stupid.

97

u/ScaredAd4871 Sep 23 '22

It sounded like he was already in custody. According to the article, his bond was revoked 2 months after he posted it.

Why was his bond revoked? Because he couldn't help but watch the My Pillow conference with Mike Lindell. Which was apparently against his bond conditions.

14

u/Coercedbycake Sep 24 '22

That is pathetic. No self-control. No understanding of consequences for his actions.

2

u/going-for-gusto Sep 24 '22

Hol Up

But it was Mike Lindel I was watching.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

Using his daughter's iPhone and hiding in his garage, like that would let him get away with it.

2

u/ScaredAd4871 Sep 25 '22

I believe you but wanted more detail so I tried to look this up. First source I found said this:

When a pretrial service officer arrived for an initial home check-in, however, Jensen was reportedly found to be watching election-related conspiracy videos on a social media app using a contraband phone.

So he immediately jumped back on the misinformation express.

I didn't care to dig into it further. I'm sad that he has at least one child. I'm sad he has a wife - they blew each other kisses in court, so she's probably just as Q crazy as he is.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

That make sense because he was already in custody. Shouldn't be allowed out not that he's convicted.

215

u/outerworldLV Sep 23 '22

Zero sympathy for this down the Q rabbit hole defense. These are adults.

18

u/AdResponsible5513 Sep 24 '22

So is Mike Flynn.

21

u/sixtus_clegane119 Sep 24 '22

In a text with roger stone Flynn admitted he thought it was all some bullshit psyop. But these sociopaths know leaning into it gets them support

9

u/VELOCIRAPTOR_ANUS Sep 24 '22

To me, that's worse

3

u/nbarbettini Sep 24 '22

Playing with fire, on the national stage.

2

u/MidwestBulldog Sep 24 '22

It's truly disconcerting to see a military officer trained in psy ops calling Q a "bullshit psy op", then falling for the same "bullshit psy op".

QAnon may not formally be engineered by a government to stoke discord in the western world, but the Russians and Chinese sure love to magnify the reach of QAnon in the west through social media.

Flynn should be tried on seditious acts related to 1/6.

3

u/NDaveT Sep 24 '22

I don't know if Flynn fell for it or just finds it useful.

58

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 23 '22

I understand the sentiment. But have you read into his upbringing?

I shed no tears for adult Jensen and his actions. I do fear for others like him who can be exploited by powerful men with malevolent motives.

102

u/nickberia Sep 23 '22

Something I don’t here very often: Its ok to have sympathy for people while at the same time, wanting them held to the fullest account of the law.

30

u/Ellikichi Sep 24 '22

Exactly. I want this man to face justice, but what I really want is to dismantle the ecosystem of grifters that keep stirring up people like him in order to make money. I do feel a little bad for him. I wish that things had not ended up this way. Some people are easily misled because they are raised to be easily misled. We probably can't fix that. The root of the problem is those who would mislead. It feels hollow if the ones truly responsible are not also in chains.

8

u/PensiveObservor Too old for this shit Sep 24 '22

It can be fixed with regulation of news and “news” broadcasting. Make opinion programs spouting lies show large banner on those programs stating “statements are for entertainment and May be false” at all times.

26

u/TimeSlipperWHOOPS Sep 24 '22

You gotta play the hand you're dealt as shitty as it may be

3

u/funkyloki Sep 24 '22

I agree with your comment but not for nothing, it is the fullest extent of the law.

2

u/nickberia Sep 28 '22

Ahhh thanks

2

u/robreddity Sep 24 '22

But do you there very often?

14

u/LoveandKindness1983 Ches and Kracken Sep 24 '22

What happened in his upbringing?

10

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 24 '22

I took it for granted that people on this sub were more familiar with this guy. Iirc, he was sexually abused for a period of time as a child. He then went whole hog into qanon. Was jailed because he couldn’t stay away from mike lindell conferences while on home confinement.

Why he may have been susceptible to the Qanon hole:

It was a cause he said he associated with because he had been molested from ages 7 to 14.

20

u/bomchikawowow Sep 24 '22

I don't mean to take this to a dark place but lots and lots of people experience sexual abuse as children. While it's abhorrent it doesn't give you a license to be a lawless psychopath.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

I also don't believe it half the time. It is almost like stolen valor now.

2

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 25 '22

I’m not trying to get into an argument with you so won’t be engaging deeply with this.

I do want to say I find this comment to be ill advised. I don’t like this particular guy and haven’t seen independent reporting corroborating what he says.

However, I know men that were assaulted. As children and adults. To this day, many of them will not seek help and I only find out via oblique comments. This is not something people, but especially men ime, go around lying about.

Lying happens but I don’t think it’s common enough to dismiss “half” the time as “stolen valor”.

I contemplated sending this via PM but since others saw your comment, I thought it appropriate to send in public.

I’m not the morality police and apologize if it comes off that way. This is the 3rd similar conversation I’ve had this week and wanted to make sure others don’t feel stymied because someone might think they’re lying.

7

u/coleus Sep 24 '22

I mean, convicted paedophiles often note that they too were also victims of sexual harassment in their younger years. Still no sympathy from me as it's just like explaining to a fish the color of water they lived in.

u/buffyfan12 Light Bringer Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 24 '22

A lot of people have chlldhood trauma, and although mitigating-please do not use that as some kind of excuse.

Last year I was frequently stating that The Shaman was demonstrably mentally ill, yet never thought to use that in a way to make him seem less culpable.

Now we can discuss untreated trauma and undiagnosed mental illness all day, but not every person who was sexually assualted as a child tried to storm the US capitol. its not an excuse.

3

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 24 '22

I’ll stop answering after this because it seems I’m not making my point well.

Why he may have been susceptible to the Qanon hole

I added the detail because I wanted people to know something else about the story. I don’t think it excuses him and I think he should serve every minute of jail to which a judge sentences him.

I mentioned Flynn in another comment because I legit think his experience in psyops is meaningful to who Q is targeted towards. It’s more info meant to add to the conversation.

Not excuse him or tar other survivors with his bullshit. Again, my intent seems to be getting lost so I’ll let it be.

7

u/pandybong Sep 24 '22

Everybody talking about his upbringing - what happened???

41

u/cyrathil Sep 24 '22

His upbringing justifies his descent into inane conspiracies?

Nah fam, I've seen worse shit thrown at people's lives and they come out good on the other side. At best he tried to conform to his peers.

40

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 24 '22

Um…. I’m trying to expand the conversation. I’ve known people that went through what he went to. They did not come out good on the other side.

In all fairness none stormed the capitol either. My point was that I’d love more societal preventative measures. Protects kids from abuse and prevent donkey brain adults from violently proliferating.

I can understand why someone would see it differently but wanted to add my 2 cents.

10

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 24 '22

Right. I guess I left my usual “but fuck these people” signature on this comment thread.

That feels good to say but hardly helps prevent the next q inspired family massacre. We have a problem beyond 1/6 and those specific mullies.

My comment was meant to convey my desire to look past one guy’s actions. Give him everyday of prison he’s earned. But also figure out what the fuck is going on with these brainwashed kamikaze in waiting.

12

u/neuroverdant Sep 24 '22

In all fairness none stormed the Capitol either.

And that’s all you needed to say. Doug here is an adult and was found competent to answer for his crimes. I wouldn’t want anyone to make excuses for any terrible behavior on my part, just because my upbringing was a horror show. Maladaptive behaviors as a result of domestic abuse are my responsibility, and so would be any crimes.

Please, just stop.

8

u/OGPunkr Sep 24 '22

You just stop. This is how we figure out what went wrong. The guy was molested as a kid and therefor vulnerable to the PROGRAMING.

Should he be held accountable? YES!

Should we try to figure out why this happened to so many? um...YES

Not once did anyone say to let him off because of his childhood. We will not repair this by acting like an angry mob. That is how the other guys work, remember.

Again....no one is saying he shouldn't pay.

19

u/i_owe_them13 Sep 24 '22 edited Sep 24 '22

Y’all hating on their nuanced take is just useless and pea-brained. They aren’t making excuses for him, they’re just not mindlessly giving in to the bandwagon’s celebration of ‘bloodlust,’ something a lot more people actually ought to be doing when it comes to criminal justice here in the U.S. Always boggles my mind when ostensibly reasonable people shit on others for tempering their own personal vitriol.

Ps. “Banned from r/politics” isn’t a flex.

Edit: The dork blocked me right after replying “Fantasy isn’t nuance.” 1) I don’t know what that was supposed to mean, 2) I really doubt their genuineness now, and 3) oh bother.

-9

u/neuroverdant Sep 24 '22

Fantasy isn’t nuance.

21

u/coleus Sep 24 '22

But have you read into his upbringing?

No, because I don't have the source and open ended statements like this annoys me to no end.

2

u/OGPunkr Sep 24 '22

geez...so just ask?

0

u/coleus Sep 24 '22

Yeah, 'just ask' like 10 other people on here who at the time got no sources at all...

2

u/OGPunkr Sep 24 '22

BS! Source was there when I replied to you. Are you a troll or what? Don't bother answering, it was rhetorical.

0

u/coleus Sep 24 '22

Why would I want a source when YOU replied? I wanted it three hours earlier when there WERE NO SOURCES! Lmao.

5

u/hootahswaitress Sep 24 '22

Where can you read into his upbringing?

4

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 24 '22

Copied from another comment. Again, I’m not hand waving Jensen. Trying to expand what we’re looking at. The first link points to his 4 hour LE interview.

“ I took it for granted that people on this sub were more familiar with this guy. Iirc, he was sexually abused for a period of time as a child. He then went whole hog into qanon. Was jailed because he couldn’t stay away from mike lindell conferences while on home confinement.

2

u/NoDesinformatziya Sep 24 '22

I feel like that's just "sorry, I had too much criminal intent and an therefore innocent, for some reason".

142

u/Ontario0000 Sep 23 '22

Idiot was offered a plea deal last year but he wanted a trial.

43

u/Chippopotanuse Sep 24 '22

He probably is going to get at least double the jail sentence be otherwise would have received.

20

u/LoveandKindness1983 Ches and Kracken Sep 24 '22

Doug Jensen is a special kind of jerk. For me this is pop open a bottle of bubbly worthy. So much fun. He earned it!

108

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 23 '22

But, Davis also worked throughout the trial to portray Jensen as a man who had fallen deeply down the “rabbit hole” of QAnon — a conspiracy theory holding that former President Donald Trump was engaged in a global battle against a Satanic cabal of child sex abusers. A key element of the QAnon conspiracy theory is the coming of "the storm," which is the day that Trump would supposedly begin the mass arrest of members of the cabal, the so-called "deep state" and prominent Democrats. That, Davis said, is what Jensen thought was happening on Jan. 6.

On one hand, fuck Flynn for activating and co-opting Qanon on behalf of Trump. He is still out there amassing “digital soldiers” in his fraudulent religious mushbrain army. That fucker is the real snake danger.

Otoh, fuck the mullies that allowed themselves to be physically co opted into throwing their life away for Donald Trump.

We gotta do better as a society to catch these people before the Flynn types do. Imo.

58

u/No_Influence_666 Sep 23 '22

We must be intolerant to the intolerant.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

What are we going to do with them when we catch them? We don't have mental asylums any more and they haven't broken any laws yet if we get them "before Flynn". This is just a pie in the sky unworkable "solution" that no one will try.

63

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '22

well the good news is that trump is still shadow-president so he can shadow-pardon him

59

u/ecmcn Sep 23 '22

I think Trump can do that just by thinking it, so maybe the guy’s already shadow-pardoned.

32

u/iamDanger_us Sep 23 '22

awesome and then he can enjoy his shadow-freedom after he gets shadow-released from shadow-prison!

17

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '22

Shadow Trump can get him shadow-released just by shadow-thinking about it.

17

u/stupidsuburbs3 Sep 23 '22

I’m thoroughly enjoying this shadowfreude

10

u/dtmjuice Sep 23 '22

I know we're shadow-looking on the shadow-bright side here, but shadow-prison sounds terrifying and fantastical.

12

u/iamDanger_us Sep 23 '22

I imagine all the prison guards would be dementors and/or nazgûl.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '22

While he's out of shadow prison, we'll keep him locked up in real prison.

7

u/qweef_latina2021 Sep 23 '22

Just by thinking about it too!

6

u/No_Yak_6227 Sep 24 '22

trump can now just pardon him as he thinks about it doesn't have to leave Mar a Lago !!

13

u/RowanIsBae Sep 24 '22

His attorney, Davis, had previously pointed to Jensen’s “addiction” to QAnon and election fraud conspiracy theories last September, when Jensen was caught violating the terms of his pretrial release by watching MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s election fraud conspiracy conference. U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, who had granted Jensen bond only two months early, quickly revoked his release and sent him back to jail to await trial.

Oof

3

u/PuritySpiralsBad Sep 24 '22

I’m shocked, shocked I tell you, the “my client is an idiot believing in conspiracies” defense didn’t work!

Well not that shocked. But I do wonder how much of this was pushed by Jensen against his attorneys advice. I know there’s that one nut job attorney (Jonathan pierce maybe?) who’s never even practiced criminal law and is taking a bunch of J6ers on as clients, but aside from him, I’d like to think most competent attorneys are saying “the evidence is irrefutable, take a plea deal”.

Hell though, if it’s draining money out of these whackadoos bank accounts for no positive return, than that’s alright by me.
