Obama being a successful president really kinda fucked the US.

101

u/concolor22 1d ago

Yeah, I really miss Obama. 😭

46

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Same man and I was a kid when he was in office😭 My life was literally so much happier back then and the world seemed peaceful 😭

5

u/zDedly_Sins 1d ago

I don’t know man I was a child when Obama entered as president being a child of immigrants all I heard from them was how scared they were from being deported and then we had the recession happen in 2008 not so great.

12

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

Obama had the highest deportation numbers in history. Even beat Trump.

9

u/zDedly_Sins 1d ago

That’s what I’m saying but people keep ignoring the statistics.

7

u/SLSmail 1d ago

Same thing people have done with re-electing trump! Look at how many farmers still back him, even though his tariffs killed them the 1st time and they had to be bailed out by trump 🤷‍♀️

1

u/MyNameIsJakeBerenson 1d ago

It’s very important to be aware of and state your cognitive biases when you see them so you don’t wind up in the opposite side of the echo chamber

Like, when you see a blind spot that you didnt see before, it’s okay to clock it and be mindful of it

It’s real easy to get blind to stuff because of your own cognitive biases. That shit’s weird like that

0

u/69nailpounder 1d ago

Tariffs didn't do shit and you want to talk about bailouts? How about Obama bailing out big banks? Farmers work their asses off and banks are fuckoffs.

2

u/middleageslut 1d ago

The trump tariffs put a lot of farmers out of business bro. It isn’t even a question.

Yes, Obama cleaned up Bush Jr’s mess by bailing out wall street. I wish he had done it differently, but he kept America alive and put regulations in place that ensured it wouldn’t happen that way again.

Trump has vowed to end those regulations.

This isn’t hard, no one who loves this country votes Republican. Period.

He’s our God. Deal with it ahole

1

u/Historical-Juice-314 1d ago

How could you miss your god? He’s still there in the basement calling all the shots 🙄 he’s not left yet

1

u/Lizardking619 1d ago

Yeah I think this ideology democrats are pushing went too far and the American people had enough.Imo the last five or six years have been pretty chaotic around the world and at home.I am willing to reserve judgment for the next four years and who knows what if we are better off than when he started at the end of it.If he and his team fail they should be judged accordingly.

1

u/Due-Survey-4040 1d ago

Because they don’t fit the narrative. Clinton (Bill) was strong on border security and deportation as well. Most of his policies would be right-leaning in 2024…

1

u/DarkPolumbo 21h ago

The president's racial identity matters more than their performance to so many people. It's disgusting.

What happened to judging by content of their character, rather than the color of their skin?

I'll say this, if someone dared to post a banner that said "Anything but a black president", they'd be strung up by their gonads. But this thread is apparently OK because white man bad.

1

u/Snake_Doc16 19h ago

Careful, the Reddit hive mind will downvote anyone who thinks logically

0

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

People only want to hear what they want to hear and will never concede to things that go against their chosen leader.

If they can't admit the faults along with the accomplishments they are simply sycophants not supporters.

7

u/jamietmob1 1d ago

I don't know. I'm a huge Obama supporter, and I've never once tried to explain away his deportation record. The time to complain about it was while it was happening, not years afterwards. History is what history it's, so why try to explain it away. Own that shit! The good and the bad.

2

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

As a Righty I appreciate your candor and honesty leftybro.

And what does the right expect of a person that agrees that something Obama did was bad? They declare that he shouldn’t have been president, should have been removed from office, jailed, blah blah…. while simultaneously refusing to acknowledge any of the positive things he did. It’s like why bother….

1

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

If the shoe fits...

But joking aside, in all fairness can you present some things you think the "right" would agree are good regardless of which POTUS did it? (In this case Obama)

0

u/ElderBHoldenCox 1d ago

Reddit: Reagan is the worst president in the history of the world, and Obama is the best.

Anyone who has read Obama’s books: Obama refers to himself as a Reagan Fanboy and describes his administration as “slightly to the right of Reagan.”

Reddit: downvote to oblivion and spam Reddit Cares

1

u/Late-Pie-146 20h ago

Do you have an excerpt that supports this claim?

1

u/Difficult_Tough_7015 1d ago

We didn't ignore shit. We spoke up. The articles are still probably online, for sure archives, but sure make shit up lol. We spoke and he listened. He apologized, admitted he went about it the wrong way.

Ever heard Trump do that?

Furthermore, Obama didn't run his shit sheared campaign on "dey took er jobs!" Like your idiot of an orange freak rapist did. He made a bad call. There's a difference.

Trying to compare trump to Obama is like trying to compare Jose to Jesus

2

u/Jazzlike-Travel-8851 1d ago

The furthest we need to go to compare who was better is the rapist thing. Trump is a rapist. Should be end of story. Anyone who isn’t a rapist or predator is a better person than him by default. No point in comparing anything else. If I did the shit trump did, my whole family would disown me. But half voted for him. Knowing who he was. The same people who were sickened by Ezra millers crimes and others but fine with a dude who has done 100x worse shit being elected as president. I for real feel like I’m in the twilight zone. Like I’m missing something about Trump. Something fundamental. When I try to genuinely engage with these people to learn why they are on his dick so hard I get no answers. I don’t think some of them even know why they like him. They site policies sometimes but the facts show that everything he’s done has made things worse. What am I missing? When was this time that was so great we wanna go back to? Why do people think prices will lower when companies are already raising prices? Why don’t people care about the crimes he has committed? Why did it take after the election for people to research tariffs? I’m so lost as to why people love him and every time I try to talk to these people and see what I’m missing, I just get irrationality or gas lighting. I have yet to be convinced he’s a good guy and the fact he’s a rapist(and possibly more), I sure I never will. There’s no world where you could convince me that a rapist should be president of this country. But here we are and we are all going to find out.

1

u/Difficult_Tough_7015 1d ago

It literally is wild man I know.

She couldn't articulate that complete of a thought

1

u/phlegmdawg 1d ago

Even if true, Obama didn’t build a platform on demonizing immigrants to do so. You can have an effective border security system without othering people through bigoted propaganda.

Highest drone bombings of children too. LFG 🫡😤

1

u/HTXquest 19h ago

I know and people think trump is so bad but won't even look into how evil Obama was

1

u/FutureAnxiety9287 13h ago

He was also responsible for building those detention centers at the border the media went after Trump for put the kids in cages when Obama was doing the same thing.

1

u/ImportantRevenue3777 1d ago

Yea he also created those cages ya lost your shit over the second the orange man took his place.

2

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

Friendly fire my dude.

I didn't lose my shit over it; I pointed it out to the Dems every time it came up.

2

u/ImportantRevenue3777 1d ago

Loll eh. Don’t bother bud. They stopped arguing for open borders a while ago, and switched up to, “well it’s not a crisis”. Just remind them bidens illegal immigration numbers were literally 7X what Obama’s admin considered a crisis. Not to mention the only reason trumps deportation numbers were lower than Obama’s was because trumps policies kept them from showing up in the first place, and sanctuary cities wouldn’t detain them long enough for ice to round em up.

Obama entered office in 2009, 6 weeks after winning the election in 2008. So he was responsible for the recession?

No. Bush’s fault

1

u/the_mage-girl 1d ago

Obama wasn't in office in 2008. He took office in Jan 2009.

1

u/matheno 1d ago

The recession of 2008 happened before Obama took office to be fair

1

u/zDedly_Sins 1d ago

Yes but that’s I recalled as a child. Now as a adult I know better than that

1

u/permalink1 1d ago

Obama took office in ‘09 so your memories might be a bit scrambled

1

u/zDedly_Sins 1d ago

Indeed not the best childhood 😂

1

u/Ok-Indication2976 1d ago

Yeah, the recession of 08 gets blamed on Obama, but when did he take office? Elections are in even numbered years, but administrations don't start until the next January. Even then, historical, it took 5 to 8 years to see the financial impact of any if their decisions

1

u/zDedly_Sins 1d ago

We know this. But like I mentioned before this is what I remembered as a child. Not the best years of my life. As a child one would not know this especially when people say this around you. One would start to believe it’s true until you mature enough to understand

1

u/buzzverb42 1d ago

All presidents are just various versions of Reagan. They don't care.
The Democratic party is now pro genocide, pro fracking, pro war crimes, pro Republican border policy, pro police violence to crush 1st amendment rights. I vote for the party that shares my values. The Democratic party would rather bring Republicans into their circle and exclude left voices. They will, and deserve to die if they don't learn from this. Which they won't. Next election will be more status quo, neoliberal warmongers like Kamala, Fettermen, and Pelosi are.

1

u/Ok_Resort8573 1d ago

Obama fixed the mess Republicans made. Obama didn’t create it.

Literally just not thinking our president would randomly tweak out and nuke someone made my life better back then. I’m a New Yorker. We’ve had to deal with the orange slime mould for longer than most of the country and I was baffled when people took him even remotely seriously by choice the first time. Now we’re all forced to deal with whatever extra crazy shit he slings around because enough people decided they wanted a second ride on the fuck you train.

Yes, childhoods can definitely have rosy/nostalgia tinted lenses on them. Doesn’t negate the fact that I was infinitely happier when the president wasn’t the Central Park 5 ghoul who bragged about his tower being the tallest in downtown Manhattan the same day the towers went down.

Yes. Life was better for us all. I can give you a bunch of reasons but you're just going to argue with me as to why those OBJECTIVELY good things weren't actually good.

1

u/AverageJohn1212 20h ago

You don't sound American the way you type. Sounds like English isn't your first language.

Apparently people are responding to you sarcastically. I read your comment and can't tell if you're asking a question or being dumb.

2

You were a kid… of course you were happier you had Less responsibilities and less people trying to screw you out of your belongings lol

5

u/BlackberryHelpful676 1d ago

I had been an adult for over a decade when he took office and was happier then.

1

u/ZealousidealFall6895 1d ago

Precovid we were all happier. The virus gave corporations and government a free pass to squeeze the world for every last nickel.

1

u/Academic_Doughnut101 1d ago

I guess you forgot Russia invaded part of Ukraine under Obama’s watch and North Korea started testing their missile range capabilities by launching test missiles at Hawaii.

And Obama’s response… “don’t do that again or else I’m gonna sanction you”

1

u/Global-Lie-5870 1d ago

He had a really really strict border policy. That’s about it.

1

u/Successful_Rest_9138 1d ago

The world was definitely far from peaceful when he was in office. I'm not directly blaming Obama for the lack of peace in the world, but truth is the world has always been violent.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Some people seem to think that Trump would stop all wars. Um no he actually, illegal mind you, stop weapons from going to Ukraine. He threatened to not send them unless they gave him something he wanted. Now I can’t remember if it was money or information but it was still illegal since they had already paid for them!

1

u/Extremeownership1 1d ago

That’s because you were a kid with little to no responsibilities. Look up the amount of wars terrorist attacks and time we were in war during the Obama administration.

1

u/Domini384 1d ago

You were probably happier because you were a kid not because who was the president. You should really look into Obama legacy it wasn't that peaceful.

1

u/Relevant_Winter1952 1d ago

Right. Because you were a kid

1

u/Plus_Reference4636 1d ago

I was a kid too and my life was miserable. When my dad was let go in 09 we were extremely tight on money and it was the most miserable years of my life. The world in my eyes was a war-zone. Didn’t really get better until years down the road, 7 or 8 but I can’t remember exactly off the top of my head.

1

u/Limp_Elk_5520 1d ago

Except for the wars and GOAT level drone hits he put up, but yes peaceful.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

How about all the wars going on under Trump and his 59 missile airstrike? Have you conveniently forgotten about that or were you just not aware?

1

u/Limp_Elk_5520 16h ago

Totally agree. He is human rubbish.  I voted for Obama x2 and would again.

1

u/StrawHat89 1d ago

He was the first president I could vote for when I hit voting age. My whole life it has been a Democrat making life better and then the GOP fucking it all up.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

He did also do a lot of good as well! He gave me the right to marry whoever I wanted to and also adopt if I’m married to a woman! Gas was also WAY lower than it was under Trump and Biden!

1

u/Kodama04 1d ago

It wasn’t peaceful at all. Obama had the most drone strikes. Was in 2 separate wars. also didn’t protect whistle blowers like he said he would.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

And so did Trump! Trump authorize 59 cruise missiles struck against the Syrian air base, with many members of the foreign policy establishment applauding his attack as a means of punishing Bashar al-Assad’s regime for its use of chemical weapons. - https://www.law.virginia.edu/scholarship/publication/saikrishna-prakash/642716

Also there were still a whole lot of wars going on under Trump and a few started in 2016 and ended in 2020.

1

u/BuckEmBroncos 1d ago

That’s because you were a kid, not because Obama was President.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Well I do remember that when Trump became president in those four years I experienced a shit tone of trauma which only really started getting better when he left. It’s kinda ironic to say the least. I did grow up in a EXTREMELY racist town where the KKK has a large history so that could also have something to do with it. Teachers turned a blind eye because “I already had issues” and “she should learn to toughen up” while I was literally being beaten by my classmates. It was traumatic!

1

Hear me say what? I never praised Trump.

1

u/Terrible_Penn11 1d ago

If you think the world was more peaceful than you lived in a another reality

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Well Covid hadn’t happened yet and you know I WAS A KID! Yeah the world was peaceful for me because all the bad shit hadn’t happened to me yet! A lot of bad shit happened during the 4 years that Trump was president!

1

u/SpecificSquare8156 1d ago

Yeah, quite often that’s called the magic of childhood.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Yeah until you get to the bullying part and you get left with trauma! Worst years of my life was the same 4 years that Trump was president the first time.

1

u/Limp-Plantain1200 1d ago

Because you were getting used by everybody and didn’t know better

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Ouch that kinda hurt. But you’re right I was getting taken advantage of by an ex and such bad bullying that I ended up with depression and trauma from it. I still flinch whenever a man raises his hand behind my head. Been working in that with a therapist so hopefully that gets better!

1

u/TheMuteObservers 1d ago

the world seemed peaceful 😭

laughs in military colonialism in the Middle East

People like to say billionaires are out of touch when the average middle class American is incredibly out of touch with the cost of their peaceful lives.

1

u/No_Passage5020 1d ago

Hey here’s a fun fact about the military! I CANT JOIN! I actually wanted to but because I have ADHD and need to take medication I’m not allowed to join! Also my life was not peaceful but it only started getting worse when Trumps first term happened. I had SEVERE depression, had someone come to the house for it, between a parents divorce, horrific bullying, and a really abusive ex boyfriend, it was shit! Things started getting better for me when Biden was president and I was able to get out of those situations. Funny how that happened, Obama presidency nothing bad happened, Trump presidency a shit tone of bad happened, Biden presidency things got better. It’s almost like during Trumps presidency PEOPLE WENT INSANE!

1

u/poipudaddy 1d ago

Yet he was popping off the US military constantly and everywhere - unlike his successor...

1

u/Economy-Dog6306 22h ago

10 times more drone strikes than Bush.

1

u/AverageJohn1212 20h ago edited 20h ago

LOL how old are you now?

EDIT The world seems peaceful for everyone when you're a child. That's what childhood is for.

I learned growing up that mainstream American society really tries to keep its adult population in this childish cloud of consumerism pretty much for our entire lives. Men are pushed to find wives and have families ASAP. Pseudo-crises about population decrease. It's all Shakespearean stage.

1

u/hessxpress9408 20h ago

That’s because you were a child and understood far less about this shitty world we live in. The president had nothing to do with it

1

u/Morty137-C 13h ago

It really wasn't. You were just ignorant and oblivious to the world around you. So strange to swoon for a president that bombed US citizens like it was normal.

1

u/No_Passage5020 13h ago

Trump did the same thing to another country and was praised for it. He authorized a 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the Mediterranean Sea into Syria, aimed at the Shayrat Airbase. At least 16 killed (per Talal Barazi, governor of Homs) 9 civilians killed including 4 children and 9 soldiers killed (per SOHR) Not only that but because of Trump not taking action about 400,000 Americans died due to Covid. He also BANNED nationals of six Muslim-majority countries from traveling to the United States for ninety days. Later amended to include an additional two countries, also indefinitely freezes refugee intake from Syria. So killing more women, men, and children trying to escape a war.

1

u/Morty137-C 13h ago

Wow. Your level of delusions is absurdly high. Nice whataboutisms, as per normal from your party.

If you really want to get into that conversation, Obama had over 800 confirmed civilian deaths due to drone strikes while the confirmed civilian deaths under Trump are around 150. None of those were US civilians, which can't be said of Obama. Stop spewing your ignorance now.

1

u/No_Passage5020 10h ago

I’m sure that the people who were refugees would disagree. Because Trump BANNED them from immigrating to the USA! The were mostly Muslims as well. https://www.aclu.org/living-with-the-muslim-ban

My mistake I did do the math! About 780 people died due to Trump. The majority where those who where deported. This also doesn’t include the disappearances and sexual crimes committed. These deaths, sexually crimes and disappearances could have been avoided had Trump not deported so many people his first time! https://www.hrw.org/report/2020/02/05/deported-danger/united-states-deportation-policies-expose-salvadorans-death-and

He killed american citizens without charge or trial.

2

u/ffsGetoverit 1d ago

I am trying to remember what these “American citizens” were doing in Syria during the Arab Spring/Syrian revolution, oh yeah, joining Isis? How convenient for you to remember their citizenship so you can demonize a president who is forced to make a “crisis room” decision to use force on high value targets with a small time window, all while the right in this country howled and wailed about how weak he was on Isis?

We should have never, ever been in Iraq, that is a fact conveniently forgotten (mostly by the war mongers on the right) after the tragedies of 9-11. Yes we deposed Saddam, but there was no strategic value. It instantly made Iran the reigning power in the region opposed to Israel. It created the power vacuum in not on Iraq, but the region at large, which left the opening that Isis filled!

Blame the president that ended the senseless conflict that cost thousands of American lives and tens of thousands of casualties and native deaths, along with the destruction of countless families in the region!

Still waiting on weapons of mass destruction 23+ years later.

2

u/slimsargazim 1d ago

It just showed the US was already messed up…he didn’t cause or perpetuate racism, his success uncovered it

2

u/Domini384 1d ago

Racism was already on the decline before Obama though. It became more racist due to his actions with controversial issues and I'm not talking about white people.

2

u/SoiledFlapjacks 1d ago

The only reason it became more racist was, like you said, due to Obama.

For example, he was black. That’s a big no-no for the trailer park residents. He was also elected president. WHILE BEING BLACK! Absolutely abhorrent for the hill people. Add onto that, he was a likable president—while still remaining black. BIIIIIIIG no-no for the closet racists.

I can’t believe he started the racism by being black. Absolutely disgusting.

Jokes aside, I’m genuinely shocked how easily Trump brought out the Jim Crow lovers from the woodworks. Like, I knew a lot of people in the US were racist as fuck, but I never expected “The South will rise again!” people to be such a large portion of the US.

Obama was a baiter from the beginning. Got elected and still had a chip.

1

u/Remarkable-Bug-8069 1d ago

Yeah, let's ignore the whole birther Kenyan Muslim shit still floating around which first brought success to Trump among the deplorables.

1

u/Domini384 18h ago

You're kidding right? Very few cared about that and had nothing to do with the rise of Trump

1

u/Remarkable-Bug-8069 18h ago

Sure thing buddy. Maga are still screaming that bullshit.

1

u/Domini384 18h ago

Oh? Are they in the room with us now?

1

u/Remarkable-Bug-8069 18h ago

Yeah. Go take a look in the mirror.

1

u/Domini384 17h ago

Damn coming in with that elementary level humor, i wouldn't expect anything less

1

u/Remarkable-Bug-8069 16h ago

It's hard o be reminded you're in a bubble, I agree.

1

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

If the US was as racist as Obama claimed he could have never been elected; twice; and not become a martyr.

1

u/expertonmyownopinion 1d ago

If he uncovered it how did he win the election to begin with?

2

u/Domini384 1d ago

What's funny is I had many friends who voted for him because he was black. They were acting like they were making this historical stance which I guess it was. Just gave off a racist undertone though

1

u/CollarsUpYall 18h ago

Nothing undertone about it. Voting for anyone based on race is…racist.

2

u/Hot-Syrup-5833 1d ago

Obama was moderate, well spoken and didn’t spend a career putting minorities in jail for weed in California of all places. He is everything Harris is not. That’s why she lost.

2

u/Relevant-Law-804 1d ago

Successful? He led the first time in History when China superseded the US economy (2014).

Also, the 1% wealth gap grew by the largest margin in history.

Granted, he successfully executed a US citizen in the US with a drone so that was a new "success".

3

u/No-Amphibian-3728 1d ago

Yemen isn't the US. If you're going to criticize the man, at least get your shit straight.

Why is that? He put in some great agendas and put in some poor ones. It's basically back to Carville's comment: "It's the economy, Stupid!"

1

u/PinkGlaive 1d ago

I’m so happy people who believe this are the minority 😂

1

u/Batsonworkshop 1d ago

Obama being a successful president

Good joke!

1

u/Nuprint_customs 1d ago

🤣🤣 yeah ok

1

u/xargos32 1d ago

That's not the right framing. It was racism that fucked the US, not his success.

1

u/Mickey1636 1d ago

Successful?

1

u/NecessaryEcho1358 1d ago

Lmao Obama was the worst president in us history

1

u/lakecharles1992 1d ago

Obama wasn’t successful. He wrecked the healthcare system, brought in poor economic growth, droned American citizens, weaponized the IRS on his political opponents, got caught on a hot mic being corrupt, allowed Joes crack head son to fly around the world picking up bags of cash for access to his administration, just to name a few.

1

u/SqigglyPoP 1d ago

LoL none of this is true. You have negative 93 karma comments. You're a troll.

Successful? How exactly was he successful? I'd love to hear your response

1

u/Sufficient_Dot5604 1d ago

Deportee In chief 😂

1

u/Visual_Yak_9797 1d ago

Obama promised enshrine Roe v Wade in our constitution and had a super majority in the house and senate but choose not to do it. Do you think that's being a successful president?

1

u/LHam1969 1d ago

What was so great about him? Honestly, what really changed under Obama other than your "vibes" and perceptions?

Inequality worsened under Obama, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Race relations also worsened. Home buying got more out of reach, and we ended up spending record amounts on wars and military.

So what difference does skin color make?

1

u/Mk1Racer25 1d ago

He also was one of the key players in getting Biden to bail on his reelection bid.

1

u/Dry-Acanthisitta-186 1d ago

Wildly insane narrative that Obama was successful.

1

u/SqigglyPoP 1d ago

He had the highest ending approval rating since Clinton.

1

u/The_Crimson_Fuckr69 1d ago

"Successful" the only thing the man was good at was being professional. He talked and walked like a president. He still bombed more children and women than trump did.

1

u/Sharp-Donkey127 1d ago

‘successful’ all emotions aside, it seems hard to use that term when talking about a president. Obama had highs and lows just like every president. Hands down one of the best orators of all time though

1

u/Ok-Indication2976 1d ago

Which is so counterintuitive that it can only be real. They really had nothing to fall back on besides "but he's black. And he wore that tan suit one time."

1

u/BohemianJack 1d ago

What's bad is that I was graduating high school for the 2008 election. I couldn't vote yet but I was getting very politically involved. Seeing how many people were ignited under a black president made me hopeful that we were progressing as a nation.

Nope! The racists just double downed harder and exposed themselves through our thin veil of a society.

1

u/YourMom77887 1d ago

The fact that you think he was successful is adorable. He was a shit president who illegally targeted citizens.

1

u/69nailpounder 1d ago

Successful?🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Rockzilla1962 1d ago

Left us in war and did Zero for blacks.

1

u/Yhostled 1d ago

"We can't let a black man show us up! Let's get a white man back in to fix it! No, not like that ... Or that ... Or that. Maybe the white man is the problem? Nah, it's definitely everyone else, right?... Right?"

1

u/Individual-Schemes 1d ago

No. It's the vitriol of social media that is polarizing us and making everyone lose their fucking minds. Everyone is so brainwashed and no one is talking about it.

1

u/BladeReaper81 1d ago

He was successful?? What alternate universe did this occur??? I would love to go see it. Because it certainly wasn't true in reality.

1

u/Actual-Raspberry-343 1d ago

He just carried on a lot of Bush programs. Which if you remember were terrible. He didn't really change anything because he was in the system and prepped for the job.

1

u/Humble-Sink7843 1d ago

How was Obama a successful president?

1

u/RevolutionaryPuts 1d ago

Lol, what made him successful?

The killing of Abdulrahmab al-Awlaki?

The escalating wars?

Or was it when he put kids in cages at the border?

Was it when he contributed to the issue we now have with insurance companies by spearheading policy that forced American citizens to have insurance?

The expansion of government?

The massive overreach of government surveillance?

What exactly made him "successful" by your metric

1

u/NCJackhammer 23h ago

You really fell for the propaganda

1

u/ARandoWeirdo 23h ago

And he wasn't even that good of a president. Just really charismatic and not a racist.

1

u/GrandSport18 23h ago

“successful” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/timorre 21h ago

Even of the cusp of congratulating itself for progress, America can't help but be America. A real "snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory" moment.

1

u/Busterlimes 20h ago

Then we went to the absolute worst POTUS of all time, by all historic measures.

1

u/AverageJohn1212 20h ago

It didn't do anything directly.

People live with hatred. They use that hatred and racism to vote and elect politicians to power.

Because it's the only real power they have.

Most people don't care about the world doing better at all. It's all lies. Watch how much changes in the next 4 years. We've been doing this for 100 years.

Elections don't change a thing. Prove me wrong.

1

u/Infamous-Diver3890 18h ago

Obama was not a success, just presidential looking. Don't forget that he built the cages at the border and he ACTUALLY deported more families than any other president. Please check the facts and not get your news from msnbc, Rachel maddow, or any of the other left comedians.

1

u/70ga 18h ago

thanks obama

1

u/Deathnachos 15h ago

Obama was not a successful president, especially for democrats.
