Bipod Review
australiantacticalprecision.com.auAnyone used a Accura TAC-BP1 bipod ? I’m interested in any reviews or experience with it due its price. My used would be bench rest and general plinking 22LR and 17HMR
Someone needs to clarify this
I own a Ruger American .22LR that came with a 10-round rotary mag. I’ve heard that bolt-action rimfire can have up to 15 rounds (like the BX-15). The store told me that CZ rimfires come with 15-round mags, creating a gray area for other 15-round mags. They also mentioned 15-round mags aren’t inherently illegal in Victoria, but Ruger removed them from factory because of their “tactical look,” not because of the round count.
Can someone clarify? In Victoria, if I get a 15-round mag, can I legally own it? Has anyone been questioned during a safe check for owning a 15-round mag, or was it fine?

Legislation- Queensland Gevarm .22 Carbine
Currently doing some estate cleanup for family and I've been advised that there's probably a Gevarm .22 stashed in a shed somewhere.
I've been interested in recreational shooting for a while so I figure this might be an excuse to do a safety course, get licensed, etc. so I can actually hold on to the thing.
My concern is that, from what I can tell, the Gevarm A & E are semi-auto and that should be a Class C?
I'm not loving the idea of finding an antique from the ~50s handed down by a family member and then needing to melt it down for scrap, or something.
Does anyone have similar personal experiences or any relevant advice?
EDIT:
As far as I know I'm not disqualified for a license, but I'm also not a "primary producer" or anything. So a Class C might be out of my reach.
Ideally I'd take this thing myself. If that's not possible, then I'll see if I can hand it on to another family member. If that's not possible I'd like to find a home for it.

Straight-pull shotties. Who to avoid?
I've decided to buy a straight pull shotty, mostly for shits and giggles. I've heard that most of the Turkish imports are much-of-a-muchness, but is there a particular brand to avoid? I figured it would be easier to avoid the problems than try to locate the "best" cheap straight pull.
If I end up using it more than expected, I might consider upgrading to a button release. But that is in the future.

Newbie question Weatherby vanguards, shit hot or hot shit?
So, long story short Went out to the farm this weekend to sight in dads 223 (vanguard) and my 222 (Cz 527)
Pretty much, .222 half inch high at 75 yards and it groups tighter than a nuns yaknowwhat. The old Boys .223, let's say I'd have had better luck hitting the broadside of a barn with a bowl of rice.
Gonna go back out this weekend to have another crack with the 223 and break the barrel in a bit more (was a brand newy off the shelf in a Boyd's laminate stock)
If anyone has extensive knowledge of vanguards and knows what torque specs the action screws should be set at or if someone can tell me if it's 1 in 12 twist or 1 in 9 (apparently some vanguards were made in the 1in12 before 1in9)
Dads got a few boxes of PPU 55gr rounds that he was using so I'll definitely grab a few other rounds to try out, but yeah got me stuffed as to how shockingly it shot.

Slugs and buck allowed at Eagle park vic?
Title says it all, didn’t see any buck or slugs being sold behind the counter last session, only target/clay loads
Hoping there’s no rules against heavier loads ?

Ranges on the Mornington peninsula
Evening all, just moved from Newcastle down to the Mornington peninsula and looking for a range/ club to join. Mainly use the rifles for hunting but having a range nearby where I can shoot 270 would be handy. Are there any ranges down here other than pistol clubs and clay target ?
