Good Morning y’all!! I’ve had my tank set up for 3ish months now, and this morning I’ve noticed I’ve been blessed with a baby bladder snail.. I have a mystery snail, but I’m wondering if the bladder snail and the mystery snail can breed? I don’t want a snail outbreak but I also don’t want to put either snail in my other tank in fear they might turn into escargot. Thanks y’all 🙂

Hello everyone! I went to my lfs to buy some assassin snails as I was starting to get a bladder snail infestation. I got 3 of them and after some acclimating, maintenance to my tank (just moving plants around), I noticed 1 of them was blue ? I’m curious if that’s even an assassin snail. Thank you for the help !

I’m 2 weeks into cycling my first tank and have had my first algae outbreak and my first snails. I understand with the snails where there is one there are many, and I’ve seen a few in the last day. But what is this? Some have had dark shells, but these guys have translucent shells.

I've heard some people do it for like 24 hours to 2-3 days? I cut a slice of zucchini for my mystery snail and boiled it for like 4-5 minutes before putting it in ice water; but honestly I don't know if that was long enough, I was almost worried about it becoming tooo mushy since I did a thinner slice. I cut off the thicker outside to the slice so it'd be easier to get to. I just don't know.

This is my first snail and I'm overly conscious on making sure the little guy is happy.😔I'm a little concerned if leaving the Zucchini in the tank for a long time will mess with the water somehow, or make it a pain to get out when he's done with it; so I wanted to get other snail keepers opinions.

This all started awhile ago when my yellow Mystery Snail Smoothie passed away. I had gotten them from a petstore (if that changes anything) then obtained 2 more snails from the same store. They have constant access to two cuttle bones and a rather large rodent bone for calcium. The rodent was found on a hike, was cleaned of any dirt, left to soak for a week and then placed into the tank for decor. They just started nibbling on it.

I have always struggled with keeping my tank's hardiness up but I thought I was doing a good job for the most part. Doing what I was told online to add calcium carbonate in small amounts to keep it how my snails like it. I now just checked it and it's soft. I now just read I shouldn't add calcium carbonate and another place I checked said to use Tums for some reason and now I am beyond lost.

Normally I wouldn't be panicking as bad but I am still a bit upset over the loss of my snail Smoothie and I noticed one of my white snails, Frosting, has a soft spot on their operculum it looks like (I am not risking touching it) and both my older snails (Frosting and Chocolate Chip) are showing signs of calcium deficiency. What am I doing wrong? I have seen them eating at the cuttle bones and the rodent one, and both have bits scaped off/missing. Do they need more? I am so confused

We think our snail laid a clutch of eggs, but I want a second opinion. We have one single mystery snail (shares a tank with one betta fish) who we have had for almost one year. We have never seen anything like this. Since it is the only snail we have, can these eggs be fertilized or no?

Still no clue why my snails are having shell cleft issues so I figure at this point I may as well try an antiparasitic. I have expel-p on hand, would that work and be safe? The site says it may cause issues for snails but ultimately they should be fine so I thought I'd check.

I don’t have anything in my tank yet just cycling but I did get some live plants about a week or so ago, it’s super tiny, and I’ve only seen him when I turn my lights back on after being off a while.

Hi everyone! I found this guy in my tank this morning. I assume he’s a hitchhiker from one of my plants - any idea what kind of snail he is? Neon tetras for scale lol.

Do I need to expect more? This is the first snail I’ve noticed.

I happened to be layed watching my big 120litre tank an I spotted a bladder snail, not got anything new in months, which makes me wonder do I have more of these dudes hiding that I haven’t seen? I read somewhere that they are great for cleaning tanks, an my readings the last couple of weeks I’ve not even had to change water just top it up. Could these be linked?
