Help Topless Snails?
I have a 40 breeder that I’m reevaluating my stocking. It currently houses 15-20 ember tetras, some shrimp, and pond snails. I want to get a snail or two to add a pop of diversity and maybe much at some algae occasionally. My tank is topless and I’m worried of an escape and not being able to find its way back in.
Mylasian Trumpet Snails interest me but would they ruin the thick Dwarf Hairgrass carpet I have? Nerites are pretty but I’m worried about them escaping. Are their eggs that big of a deal too? I don’t want my tank covered in them. Any other snails you’d suggest? Thanks!

Picture Baby Watch 2025 - Riveting
galleryMy ivory and blue mystery snail ‘courted’ and I actually caught some pretty incredible video of the ivory laying a fairly large clutch (which I can post too if anyone’s interested in the weirdest footage ever). That was 1 week ago, while in the meantime my blue was aggressively ‘courting’ my gold for seriously days. I was like “get off her man let her rest, damn” then 3 days ago i awoke to an additional THREE clutches. Lordy Lordy.. so all of that to say - here’s day one of clutch A’s hatching window! Not quite there yet, looking for darker substance in the eggs and an almost moldy look when they’re ready to hatch out. Thanks for sharing the excitement!

General 5 Years Old!
My ancient Assassin Snail is officially over 5 years old! Most souces I can find say they live 1-3 years. Here's her story: I accidentally acquired her when I purchased 10 Trumpet Snails for $2.00, 5 years ago. I guess the seller didn't realize it was in the bag as it was only the size of a sand grain. It grew and grew, and I thought I died at one point as it was gone for several months. It then lived (unknowingly) in a blackwater biotope with a pH of 5.5 for 16 months! I found it after tearing down that setup with a heavily corroded shell. I now have her in a dedicated 29 gallon Assassin Snail paradise with calcium, a pH of 7.8, and a plethora of food where she can live out the rest of her golden years among her peers in luxury. She has since regained colour and integrity to the shell, but the damage from the acidic conditions will likely remain. I wonder how many hundreds of snails she has hunted in her lifetime. It'll be a sad day when it kicks the bucket. Thanks for reading! And yes, the use of "she" is merely an assumption!

Help Egg identification
Hi there, I'm new to keeping aquatic snails after having kept terrestrial ones for several years. Currently I have a planted tank with Malaysian trumpet snails, mystery snails, and bladder snails. Some of the the plants are still adjusting, causing an overabundance of food; so now I'm dealing with the resultant explosion of eggs and babies 😅
Yesterday looking in the tank however I saw a slightly different kind of egg sac than the bladder snail ones I've been removing thus far. I took the best pictures I could. Instead of jelly and white dots, it's completely clear? Is this just an earlier stage of the eggs? Infertile? A different kind of egg?
I know the MTS give live birth, and the pictures of mystery snail eggs are way different, so I'm assuming it's still bladder snails, but wanted to ask folk who might know better.
Thanks for any help!

Help ID help
galleryHello, I am really new to the aquarium world (literally started my aquarium last week) and I didn't plan on getting any snails yet but it seems a few little buddies came with the plants I ordered. Can someone help me ID them? They are really small so pictures aren't that good, they're all maybe 1cm each.

Help Columnaris exposure
My magenta mystery snails were exposed to columnaris. Though I know it’s a fish disease, are they carriers. Little to no info on that. The two snails are in a quarantine tank right now. How long before they can rejoin fish tank mates
