Details, dammit.
If you’re gonna post here talking all this “I’m 22yrs old with little to no experience and I can’t find a job. How do I x, y or z?” at least tell us where you are or where you want to be. Wouldn’t hurt to throw in what experience you DO have no matter how little. I could suggest dozens and dozens of companies or options to someone living in the western 11, especially Cali, Az, Utah and Nevada but I don’t know shit about the east coast. A lot of guys here do. I think your chances of getting the information you’re looking for would increase greatly. I’m not taking the time to drag that info out of you myself and most people won’t. If you’re wanting genuine help from people who have good information and advice to offer then do your part and come prepared.

If you’re stuck on a RR crossing, call the number on the blue sign!
I possess the need to remind everyone of this after today’s incident in Pecos. I’ll reserve judgement until after the completion of the investigation, but if incompetence on the part of the driver, escorts or police are at play this will have been a needless incident, and an infuriating one for anyone who has or is working on the railroad, including yours truly.
“I didn’t know about the sign” is not an excuse. Drivers really ought to be criminally charged for causing these incidents…..

Puzzled as why the container didn't have any scratches where something heavy hit it. Turns out it stored on the exposed part of the container ship; a wave hit it.

This just caught my memory. Does anybody remember when companies would give you a disposable camera to take pics, in case you had an accident?

Be safe
Appreciate you and much respect for all that you do to keep our country running. Was picking up some groceries today and amazed at the fresh vegetable selection I had. Yeah, a trucker made that possible. Thank you! Be safe out there during this current winter storm.

Germ X not allowed?
Was at my orientation and one of the instructors there (not a driver, they were a fleet manager before and a dispatcher) was going over alcohol laws, they said we are not allowed to have alcohol in ANY form in our vehicles. This is included baby wipes, germ x, mouthwash, disinfectants and ANYTHING that had alcohol in it. I couldn't find anything on FMCSA that said this, and honestly, I just couldn't believe it. Is there a law that states this it true?

Food poisoning in an ice storm
So I’m sitting outside of Kansas City before the weather rolls in Friday night, I heat up a chipotle burrito I got Friday afternoon and within 4 hours I’m exploding out both holes. I ended up getting a taxi to the hospital and got some zofran and a liter of fluids while I was there.

Everyone staying safe?
Scheduled to drive empty from Washington Courthouse, OH to Greenfield, IN. Ohio was slow going on 35, but interstate wasn’t bad. Crossed into Indiana and it all went to hell. Started slipping a couple times. I decided to hunker down at the scale house.
Yall holding up well?

Im not a trucker but my dad was. I did some research and noticed wages and rates have barely risen from 20 years ago when my dad was driving. Whats the reason behind that?
and of course the cost of living has went way up in the past 20 years. whats the reason the wages and rates are so low for most companies now especially for OTR?
20 years ago trucking was a solid middle class job even for mega carrier OTR work. Dad has passed now but he raised 3 kids and owned 2 houses easily on OTR mega carrier work.
What the hell is going on now days?
