Likely Solved A bronze statue given to my mom

Thumbnail gallery
249 Upvotes

My mom took care of this older kind German man who she met from her job. He was between 3 and 5 when his family fled Germany during the beginning of the Holocaust. This is one of his family’s possessions that were brought from Germany. I was wondering what this bronze statue might be worth. The only information I have about it is that the artist was from Poland and was a female to my knowledge.

The old German man died about 10 years ago and all his knowledge of the statue went with him. He had no living family members and never married and left all of his possessions to my mom. He had another statue that he sold of a naked lady that he sold for $160,000 for auction in Germany. He told my mom he believed this statue was valuable but not as valuable as the statue he previously sold.

My wife found this at a thrift store here in the Bay Area. She was going to melt it down and make some jewelry and I said no way. I did the research and found the archived newspaper talking about this golf tournament. He participated in and this appears to be what he won. No idea how it ended up at a thrift store but the country club is also local.

We were cleaning out my grandmothers garage and I found this signed photo in an old trunk. I think the signature says Rittase? Honestly I’m not sure if it even says Rittase. He apparently did some shoots in refinery’s but non of them match this photo. Any idea of its worth or how to go about finding its worth?

Wooden (I assume handmade and limited) Red Baron model.

This was my grandfather's, I know it's at least 30 years old. I've had it myself for maybe 10 years.

Made in England, No 290 of an unknown number.

I have tried searching Google to no avail as Wooden Red Baron Model brings up far too many results and I'm unsure how to word it to find out more information about it.

Drawing from the sketchbook book of Robert Dudley of Antwerp Market

Thumbnail i.redd.it
1 Upvotes

I got this piece from my grandparents who lived in England in the ‘80s. The back has a typewriter note about the artist.

FL. 1865-1891. A marine, portrait and landscape painter in oil and watercolour and a lithographer. He worked in Spain, Tangiers and on the Continent as well as in England. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the New Watercolour Society and at the Royal Society of British Artists. He illustrated popular History books, the Bible and Army and Navy Almanacks.

There appears to be a sticker from where it was purchased that is slightly torn off. I can make out “and Mirrors” as maybe the store name and what may be a showroom address at “three horse shoe…bridge st Otley”

Post-it note for size.

UNSOLVED Ifugao Ritual Spoons Bulul Figures Bontok People Phillipines

Found in a car boot sale, four spoons and a ladle, used for rituals? I believe they are cast from bronze and brass plated.

Do you know if these are worth anything? I think one could have a maker mark on it, a U with an i above it, although this may just be a sign of wear.

Any ideas appreciated

Received several old tins from a neighbor. They have been in his garage for about 60 years? He’s an older dude and said they were there from his father. Not sure how accurate. I can’t find much on some of them. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Jeff Decker Buckle

Thumbnail gallery

This belt buckle was given to my mom by sculptor Jeff Decker at Sturgis years ago. Jeff Decker made the huge "By the Horns" sculpture located at the Harley Davidson museum. We can't find any sold information on what his older pieces sell for, and the more modern examples seem to be quite pricey.

Bronze/ Brass Warrior Figure

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Found this figure mounted on a piece of marble today. I thought it was cool so decided I would pick it up (having no idea what it was). I tried doing some research and the closest match I could find was something pretty crazy (which I don’t believe this is) but hopefully someone here can help.

I am not sure if it’s bronze (I think it could be?)

It’s about 4.25 inches

It’s very clearly glued on to the marble (likely didn’t come like this?)

This is what I found - although I know it’s not this
