I think people dont like the lack of scissors and thus mainly go for the X.

That's why I carry mine with a minichamp. That way I have both large blades, scissors, two different small blades, small Philips, nail file, and the spatula is useful sometimes too. Plus the pen and tweezers of course

My brother gave me one for Christmas a few years ago, and the lack of scissors was my only concern. Then I remembered that I always have a SAK with scissors in my pocket. No problem.

Swisstool + a Swisscard Classic is the way

I’m a big fan of the Swisstool line. Very nice tools. Best there are imo.

Been cruising eBay for an older Swisstool like this. For Christmas I treated myself to a new Spirit XBS, but I'm also going to pick up this tool with that classic serrated blade. If I need scissors, I have a compact or Climber.

I managed to break the pliers but Victorinox repaired them - no charge. Best tool.

I have an X and love it. I got a great deal on it. I'm indifferent to scissors. Tried to buy one like yours. Seller wouldn't respond 🤪

Good point. Jumping on your post to ask if you have any strong views about SwissTool vs SwissTool Spirit. I’ve been using SAKs practically all my life but never owned a SwissTool, and now I’m considering getting one. But there’s so many options. I don’t care about scissors either, the size difference isn’t relevant for me (105mm vs 115mm), neither is the one-hand opening, and I see the tools differ slightly between the two series, including the pliers itself. And most notably the handles. Is there any real-life difference in operating the tool?

Not exactly a popular tool. Expensive, bulky, heavy. Also, I think Leatherman own that space in which this tool lives.

I use the Swisstool X (in Outdoor Bag) and Spirit XC (in EDC bag).
