Can’t believe it’s already been a year and a half since Foundation S2 aired. Can’t wait for S3 and hopefully it’s renewed for a fourth.
I imagine FAMK S5 will release in winter 2026 (Jan-March) if they wrap production within the next 2-3 months.

I can’t wait for For All Mankind season 5, that show brings me so much joy just love it.

WHAT? I thought that show was over over!? Thank you so much for letting me know

u/ido_ks 2d ago
And Foundation season 4 still didn’t start filming, while season 3 was already in production when season 2 aired. So imagine how long we’ll have to wait for it. Lee Pace will be Brother Dusk by season 6 😭

u/EJR994 2d ago
I’m not gonna lie, worried about its renewal odds given the production delays and issues they’ve had with S3.😭
Maybe a potential S4’s scripts are already in the works by the writers, so they’ll be ready to go if it’s greenlit.

With Goyer being ousted as showrunner and all the budget cuts the future looks bleak for Foundation. Hopefully they have some sort of solid conclusion at the end of the third season. Last thing we need is another sci-fi show axed without a proper ending!

I’m worried too on paper but I found it hard to believe. It’s their flagship, it’s the show they showcased on Apple Vision Pro launch and any other basically, they even created a new Apple TV Sleep Screen just for it. So they are pretty proud of it, I find it hard to believe they’ll axe it less then halfway the show. On the other side, it was about the same case with Westworld but here we are…

u/WahnLago 2d ago
They wrapped principal photography a couple months ago. I’m betting on a summer release.

Foundation has a few flaws, namely a couple of the actors, but it’s probably one of my favorite premises for a SciFi show I’ve seen. Absolutely love Foundation and I hope Apple sees it to a proper conclusion. Lee Pace commands the screen every time he is on it. One of my favorite performances of an actor in a SciFi TV show ever.

Wait, what? Murderbot? Really?!? That's awesome!

u/mr_ignatz 1d ago
Also, unsure if it’s a drama. Unless they do the inner monologue poorly, I’d file it under Comedy series instead?

u/mostlylurking555 7h ago
Definitely should be a comedy. I read they won’t be following the book storylines so much, but that’s true with a lot of adaptations. Alexander Skaarsgard should be a good Murderbot.
1
u/FewAndFarBeetwen1072 4h ago
Agree, Alexander is a good actor, but in my mind Murderbot had definitely a "She" vibe, I don't know why

I had always heard the voice as “male” but I was brought up on male robots. Reading the R/Murderbot comments a while back I realized my biases.

I didn’t watch it but i’ll give it a shot since you like it

Lol, I don't know if my taste on shows is all that, but it's a good show, it has its moments

Can't wait for Tehran S03. Such a great show!

Same. Released in Israel a few weeks ago but still waiting for U.S. release date. I check constantly.

Still don't understand why Invasion got renewed.

u/BusinessPurge 2d ago
Cheap cast, strong producer, hopefully it’s the third and final however if it’s planned for 4 we might get all 4. Puzzlingly bad show

I genuinely enjoy the show. Outside of reddit,I think it's regarded as pretty decent

i feel the same way about Dark Matter. I mean yeah there is definitely more story there, but i love the way it ended and will be amazed if they top S1
2
u/PreschoolDad 1d ago
Dark Matter should have been a 1 season show. I really liked the first season and loved the book. I just hope they don’t screw it up by trying to stretch it out for multiple seasons.
1
u/ReconChaznat 1d ago
my thoughts exactly! it ended perfectly..
the Dessens obviously made it somewhere safe. I personally loved seeing Leighter like that and prefer to just imagine his eccentric and 'penthouse letters' Tintin style adventures axross the multiverse. And the little tease and the end with amanda and mcboyle was just enough for me to leave it there
idk, buddy told me to read the book(s), but i mean damn. With silo, this and then slow horses series my book stack is gonna be outrageous

Hijack S2 and Down Cemetery Road are likely to have already wrapped filming, which began in June of last year. Down Cemetery Road may be filming two seasons back-to-back, like Slow Horses, since it's based on a four-book series by the same author as Slow Horses and has part of the Slow Horses team leading the new show. And well, it's Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, so it makes sense to take advantage of the actresses' normally busy schedules.

Down Cemetery Road is filming now, so it’s likely as you say and they’ve ordered two seasons back to back.

Does this mean Mythic Quest has a release date? I haven’t been paying attention.

Damn I thought Hijack finished the first season pretty tightly, I hope the second season doesn’t try too hard to squeeze another storyline to get more juice out of it.
2
u/Bubsy7979 2d ago
Also I could have sworn I read somewhere that Dark Matter wasn’t going to be renewed, but I’m very happy it will get another season.. similar concept to that show but I wish Constellation got a second season to at least finish it’s story.

What about Star City?

u/paco_unknown 2d ago
They’ll probably start working on it when they finish For All Mankind this month.

Still no Led Tasso 4

u/sportsbunny33 1d ago
I thought they ended it at three seasons

The trades have been reporting of talk of a 4th season. There’s a few actors that have had their clause in their contract triggered for a 4th season. Bill Lawrence has talked about it a bunch, but basically keeps saying it’s all down to Jason.

u/Regula96 2d ago
I wonder why FAM will end up having a probably 2 year gap between seasons 4&5 when the previous ones for the most part only needed a little over a year.
Was it close to being cancelled?
1
u/DOODJLIGHTNING 2d ago
Maybe it has something to do with the spin off? We were spoiled with how quicky we got 4 seasons of that show

Can’t wait for Foundation and Slow Horses. Hopefully For All Man Kind will be finished and ready soon.
And how the hell did Invasion get three seasons?
1
u/cryptic-fox 1d ago
I watch a lot of tv shows and one thing I really hate now is having to wait 2+ years between seasons, and they always end up being less than 10 episodes. I wish more shows were like Slow Horses in terms of production and release. Look at this. Season 4 ended not too long ago. Season 5 is filmed and ready. Production already started for season 6.

It seems a lot of people in this sub and this thread are really excited about Murderbot. Can somebody explain the hype to me?

Why are they doing a platonic season 2? I thought Seth Rogen didn't want to do a season 2. So did somebody change his mind or did he?
1
u/paco_unknown 1d ago
They are already working on the third season, if the second goes well it will soon be renewed.
1
u/Glad-Juggernaut7372 1d ago
That is fucking crazy that they're doing a third season already and the second season hasn't even been out yet. Because when I finished it and I went on the plutonic subreddit. Wondering if there was going to be a season 2. Somebody said that Seth Rogen only wanted make it a mini series and only one season. I kind of wonder where they're going to go with this and cuz it ended on in such a good way
1
u/paco_unknown 1d ago
It’s a light-hearted comedy that they can easily continue for as long as they want. They’re already working on a third season, but if the second one doesn’t work out, it could be cancelled. Remember, it hasn’t been renewed yet.

I hate that everybody makes so many more dramas than comedies. Why does everyone hate comedy so much?!
4
u/jb_nelson_ 1d ago
Bro, Shrinking and Ted Lasso are like the number one shows on the platform most of the time
1
u/Sidon_Ithano 1d ago
I think they’re referring to the studios, why do the studios hate comedies so much and not the audience. As you said, Shrinking and Lasso are always in the top 10, Platonic, Bad Monkey and Bad Sisters did well.

Isn't Tehran supposed to be coming in February or pretty soon? There was a post here saying that critics were able to watch it. And also, Tehran aired on the Israeli TV networks....

u/dingspro 1d ago
The critics were able to watch it, it aired on Kan, yet no announcement from Apple. Go figure

What on earth are they doing with Trying?
