My school district (Harrisburg, PA) has been the definition of a hot mess for the past 25 years.

Insane school taxes. Less than 50% HS graduation rates not long ago. In and out of state receivership due to corruption with local officials.

The straw that broke me was 12 years ago - my employer (HP), offered a 150% matching bonus for computer equipment donations to schools.

I couldn't find a single district employee that gave 2 shits - it wasn't "their job" to coordinate the donation of 12 laptops.

So - I'm not sure what will happen if the new administration desolvles the dept of education. To me the problems are mostly local.
