You flew a ship around the landscape shooting/killing ships and or creatures. I remember you had to go to specific areas and land to recharge. It was first person I think.

Starglider [PC][80s] - 3d vector graphics game flying spaceship over planet

Platform(s): PC

Genre: Pilot/shooter

Estimated year of release: late 80's, early 90's?

Graphics/art style: Vector graphics, with different colours, similar to the old Star Wars or BattleZone arcade games

Notable characters: None

Notable gameplay mechanics: First-person perspective, flying a plane/spaceship over the surface of a planet dotted with various geometric towers and things. Occasionally a giant bird-like thing with flapping "wings" would fly by -- and you'd have to destroy it. This was a main goal of the game, I remember.

Other details:

I remember it had a complete novel about the game included with the game disks.

For some reason I want to say the title was something like Star Bird or Space Bird

Was quite fun and playable for the time

Starglider [PC][mid 90’s?]wire frame space ship game with vaporwave aesthetic?

Platform: PC. But like…pre XP windows

Genre: space flight/fight sim

Estimated year of release: could have been pre-1990 but I played it sometime between 97-2004

Graphic/art style: wire frame vaporwave. I just remember everything was very colorful and your ship was more a colorful wireframe than an actual ship

Notable characters: I don’t remember any actual characters…

Notable mechanics: it was futuristic so the ship had some neat laser weapons and ion torpedo like things

Other details: for all I know I could have dreamed this game… I just remember playing it and thinking it felt like a pre-alpha version of a Star Wars/Star Fox game.

Solved: Starglider

Starglider [Computer][Early 90s]Trying to remember name of "wire frame" shooter game.

Platform(s): Computer (don't remember OS)

Genre: Arcade shooter

Estimated year of release: Early 90s

Graphics/art style: Wire-frame, like Tempest. 3D

Notable characters: I think you piloted a plane or spaceship on the surface of a sphere.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Don't remember

Other details: It was a 3D game (must have been a very early one) where you had to fly around and shoot things on the surface of a planet or sphere. I believe you were shooting something like giant worms. I have a pretty strong memory of the game because the graphics really stood out considering when it came out... the graphics were simple, but it was 3D at a time when most games were 2D and side scrolling.

Starglider PC flight/action game from the mid-to-late 80s.

**Platform(s):I played it on a 386 I'm pretty sure

**Genre:First person flight/action

**Estimated year of release:I played it in the 90s, but it was old so It was almost certainly from the mid to late 80s.

**Graphics/art style:Vector graphics, a lot like battlezone, but I think it had more colors (most likely CGA, maybe EGA but I doubt it)

**Notable characters: There wasn't much of a story, you just shot at bad guys.

**Notable gameplay mechanics:It kinda reminds me of an extremely crude "Terminal velocity," where you just blow up anything you can see on the screen... You could turn in 360 degrees and gain and lose small amounts of altitude. I think I remember when you started the level you could see a rendered representation of your ship blasting out of a tunnel and then it changed to first person view with a sort of cockpit representation around it.

I think it had the word "Star" in the title somewhere...

-Vectorial game (like battlezone atari) - First person, piloting a tank, overtank, spaceship, I don't know - weapons: laser e guided missile....you have to guide the missile in first person - enemy variuous and strange like some kind of mecha with big legs and birds - one mission is to kill a white birds. to kill it you have to use 2 missile. - you have only 3 missile, you can refill to your base but is hard to enter because it keep moving - most of time you die trying to enter your base
