Memento [PC][2010-ish] An rpgmaker looking thriller game with giant monsters

I saw this game in a playthrough, but by who I can’t remember. I distinctly remember a chase scene in this game where the character was running away from a giant monster tearing through a facility.

The aesthetic of the game felt apocalyptic and I want to say that the monsters had robotic aspects to them. The setting looked like it was surrounding by factory like buildings.

Memento [PC][Early/Mid 2010's?] RPGMaker game that had a creature called "Dead End" that was the combination of a fly and a ww2 airplane

I remember it being on steam, and I distinctly recalled that there weren't that many youtube videos at the time because the developers didn't want there to be videos spoiling the multiple endings, but I could be mistaken. I estimate that the game came out early 2010s, but could have released as late as 2018

The game took place on a tropical island, and the word "Island" was possibly in the title. I think the game had something to do with memory as well? It also looked very much like a standard RPGMaker game, with isometric/top down and pixelated graphics. I dont remember the colour pallete being to bright, but there was definitely colour.

I don't remember much of the gameplay, but I do not recall there being any combat against enemies (no rpg battles).

All I can remember about the "Dead End" section is that you had to run to the left of the screen and dodge obstacles to avoid being killed. Dead End itself was a rusty orange ww2 era plane with fly legs and fly wings instead or normal plane wings and wheels. The name might not be Dead End, but it is certainly of that vibe.

Other sections I can remember is a section where you had to sneak through a factory/warehouse place that had iron maidens that tried to kill you (the iron maidens might have had a weeping angel style mechanic but I don't remember). I recall that the iron maidens had little circular viewing windows on either the front or back. There was also a section where you got in the mouth of a big sea/swamp creature (I don't remember if it looked more like a whale or plesiosaur) after finding its children(?).

I found out about this game around 2017-2018 through a YouTube video that "contained all boss sections", and each boss had their name show up in text before the "fight" (escape/stealth/whatever sequence, as you dont fight them).

Memento [PC][2000s-2010s] An RPGMaker(?) game where girl is chased through a house by a giant skeleton

Platform(s): PC

Genre: Horror

Estimated year of release: 2000s-2010s, maybe between 2009-2015

Graphics/art style: vaguely looked like an RPGMaker game

Notable characters: a girl with blonde/brown hair wearing a white shirt under a black dress

Other details: see text below

I originally posted this in r/tipofmytongue, but no one seemed to get it. I’ll link the post below, but here is the original text of the post:

“[TOMT] [VIDEO GAME] A girl is chased by a giant skeleton in a house.

I remember playing a section of this game a while ago, but I haven’t been able to find it since.

I remember playing the game around the early 2010s on a friends PC. He has since lost his account, and he doesn’t remember the game when I mention it. Regardless, here is everything I remember about the experience.

We were in this section of the game where you were this girl (unknown age, maybe teens?) in this dark hallway of a nice-looking house. She was wearing a black dress over a white shirt, and had blonde/light brown hair. After moving a bookshelf, we walked into this room where a giant skeleton was sitting on the ground, holding its head in his hands. It was about three times the height of our character, and also looked more like an ape skeleton than human one. You also couldn’t approach it. You could only leave the room and any attempt to re-enter would result in your character backing up slightly.

If you leave and go back down the hallway, you’re stopped by the entire house/screen suddenly shaking, and then you hear this kind of noise in between a hiss and a scream get louder and louder, with large red text suddenly appearing that said something like ‘you can’t leave’ although I don’t remember exactly what it said. The text looked like it was written in blood, and the letters looked all weirdly scrawled on the screen.

Suddenly, the giant skeleton emerges from where it was, and begins chasing you. The skeleton’s much faster than your character, and you die instantly if it catches up. After trying multiple times to outrun it, you had to do something like hide in a room and spam the lock on the door so it wouldn’t get in. I don’t remember what room it was, I just remember spamming Z over and over to close the door.

I remember it had a “Mad Father” or a “Fear and Hunger” kind of look to the game (It was probably made in RPG Maker, for those who know what that is). However, it looked far more amateur compared to those games. It was a top-down horror experience and looked kind of grainy, like the game was put through an old-timey filter, although it was in color. It looked dated, like it came out on Newgrounds or something from back in the day. I remember the music and noises also sounding a bit bitcrushed (meaning the SFX sounded like they were put into an NES/SNES when recording.)

That’s unfortunately all I remember about the game. I hope this is enough info to get somewhere. I am unsure if the game is available to play anymore (I.e. no clue if it is/was on steam or not)”

Memento [PC][2010s] RPG maker horror game, trying to find the name to play it again

Way back around the mid 2010s I believe, there was this rpg maker horror game I came across, its two girls stuck on an island (I believe it was a group of them) and there’s like weird machine & insect/animal hybrids attacking them, as well as a giant leg less Skeleton at the end of the game, if I recall the plot was that the island was like an experimental ground and the skeleton is a soldier from war

It had some good scary moments in the video I watched of it but I sadly can’t remember the name for the life of me

Another monster was a large salamander that was also a submarine.

Memento [probably PC] [unknown] Horror RPG maker game

For 2-3 years now I have been looking for a game that I saw on YouTube in recommendations, it was a walkthrough without comments for 50 minutes, I don’t know if it was a complete walkthrough. I only partially remember the locations and what happened there.

One of the locations was something like a minefield of scripted deaths of the main character (it seemed like it was a girl) from semi-ovoid machines placed there; when the script was activated, they crackled for 1 second and then the nearest machine crushed the player. Everything in this location was rusty and brown.

The second location that I remember was already on the street, it was some kind of boss excavator of a yellowish color, the city was abandoned and bright greenery was sprouting everywhere, it was day and the bright sun was shining. The boss chased the player across the bridge and destroyed it along the way.

The next location was on the shore of some beach, there was some kind of car in the shape of a whale (like a whale), and at the same time it was a submarine, on the shore the player had some kind of dialogue, and then there was an animation of the player inside this submarine somewhere floats.

The last location that I remember was in some house or mansion, there was some kind of large skeleton that, barely crawling through the entire house, was chasing the player.

Memento [PC] [RPG maker horror game] [2010’s. Couldn’t have been later then 2018] [not very good at describing artstyle but it was somewhat similar to witches house or fear and hunger in that it was generally dark and somewhat depressing] [Cant remember any characters]

This is my first post here so sorry if I did the tagging wrong. I’m looking for this RPG maker horror maker game that I saw some years back. I remember seeing a YouTube video about it on one of those RPG maker reviewers such as manly badass hero. It was this game where it was this apocalypse and that all machines had become animals. So instance there was this one chase scene involving a submarine with insect legs coming out its windows and another moment where a crane with a giant magnet was trying to crush you. There was another scene where I believe it was a mother bus and these like baby bus’s. I think if I remember correctly you weren’t alone in that you had a party however 1. Like most games with a party system they weren’t visually displayed following you and it was basically just you walking around and 2. There was no combat mechanics or battle scenes in this game so the party of people was only relevant story and plot wise. The game was also somewhat similar to witches house and fear and hunger in that the death scenes were fairly gory and graphic. And that’s all I can recall sorry. I think if I had to place a rough estimate as to when I saw it then about 5 years ago? The game didn’t get any steam release to my knowledge it only stayed on the indie websites. Any help would be much appreciated thank you

Memento [PC][early2000?] Horror RPG maker game with bugs machine hybrids

Maybe an RPG maker game I don't know. all I remember is that it was a horror game with horrible bug machine hybrids. I distinctly remember a scene of the mc being chased by a fly bomber plane and later in the game going through a kind of maze of these tank (container) bugs that's were green with piercing black eyes and a gaping maw. In pretty sure the protagonists where two anime girls and you play as one trying to find the other. If someone can find the game or at least a playthrough I'd be greatful

Memento [PC][2010-2018?] 2D RPG maker horror game about rusted machine world?

Around 2016 I was watching a video to fall asleep to on YouTube. Autoplay was on and in the middle of the night I wake up to a no commentary playthrough of a 2D RPG maker game where these girls are wandering a dark, rusted, and destroyed factory(?).

At points of the game there would be these huge mechanical monsters who’d chase them and the player would have to do a puzzle(?) to fend them off.

Outside of the factory was very lush and green that overgrew the machine building.

I’ve been thinking about this game recently and would love to play it if anyone knows the name?

Memento [RPG Maker][~2015-2017] Game with a wasp/airplane creature stalking you through a jungle.

Hi.

Saw this RPG Maker horror game being played on YouTube once. At least I'm pretty sure it was a game made in RPG Maker due to the pixelated sprites of the main character.

It featured a girl going on a field trip to an abandoned island where the Japanese fought the Americans during WW2. After becoming separated from her class she's chased by an old fighter plane with insect wings. She then comes to a bridge where an excavator/crab creature tries to crush her. Don't remember much of the rest of the game, but the main antagonist turns out to be the skeleton of a US officer who chases the main character throughout an old house.

Been getting into playing RPG Maker games for myself lately and would like to try this one. The titles of the videos were in Japanese, but the text in game was in English. If anyone can give me any information or maybe just happen to know the videos I'd be really grateful.

Memento [PC(?)] [Unknown] RPG Horror Game with Military(?) Vehicles that were Monsters?

I'm STRUGGLING to remember the name of this game or anything about it. I remember watching a YouTube video of someone playing it but I've had no luck whatsoever finding that video again. It was an RPG game that took place in this sort of city/jungle setting and apparently military vehicles were possessed or monsters or something bizarre along those lines and would attack the main characters. There might have been multiple endings but I'm not sure. I thought it had something to do with a major event in history or a war but I'm also not entirely sure about that either.

Memento [PC] [Modern (201x)?] Horror Indie with a top-down perspective and collage-art machinery monsters

Platform(s): PC, I believe Genre: Some kind of horror! I believe action / puzzle Estimated year of release: Modernish (like late 00s at earliest) since it was an RPGmaker style game Graphics/art style: Like an rpgmaker game, but with a very very cool almost collage design for the monster I saw. It was like a collage of pictures of machine parts. I remember the only area being outside in a grassy, bright, woodsy area. Notable characters: The player character was a normal human as I remember, but I think they were small. Like mouse-sized in a human world. Notable gameplay mechanics: Dont know, sorry! Other details: Below!

I never played this game, but saw a youtube video that was a compilation of all the monster encounters, I think. I only watched the first few minutes and only saw one creature. The video was in English; I do not know if the game itself was as there was no dialog or anything from what I saw. The character (a normal human walking down a bright green foresty path; it seemed like the character was tiny in a big world. it was in a top-down perspective, much like horror-puzzle games made in RPGmaker like Ao Oni and other similar titles. this led me to think it was also made in RPGMaker and, likely, a Japanese game) stops and text on the screen listing the monster's name appears at it shows up and starts presueing the character.

The most notable thing was that the monster wasn't at all a normal game monster. It didn't look organic at all from what I remember; rather it was like a collage of dangerous machine parts. It even looked more realistic than the rest of the game's art — I seem to remember it being actual collages photos or just very realistic art assets — which gave it an appealing uncanny feel. The monster was, as I remember it, a giant industrial buzzsaw mounted on a machine with wheels. That's all I can really think to remember or describe it as.

Hope this is clear and others know it! I can provide additional details as best as I remember if anyone jogs my memory. Thanks!

Memento [PC][2027+]RPG maker style Post Apocalyptic Game where you're chased by giant mechanical monsters

Edit: Title is supposed to say 2017, sorry

Edit two: It's Memento! Thank you to Shaiandra!

So i remember seeing a youtuber play this game, but don't remember who or when. It was in recent years and was a PC game from what i know, and had a really distinct pixel art style with some giant robotic monsters that were hunting down the main character. I think she had long brown hair? But i can't remember. The colors were pretty muted and dark, and I think a cat starts to follow her at one point? I definitely remember a few puzzles though. Sound familiar to anyone?

Memento [PC][2000s?] Survival Horror Game where you play as a girl stuck on an island with Monster War Machines that want to kill you

I've been looking for this horror game for like 2 years now because I saw someone play it in a Youtube video but I forgot the name of it and can't find the video again

From what I can remember the plot of the game is that you crash land on an island with a group of people (or students???) that used to be a battleground for some kind of war and there are broken war machines across the island like Tanks, War Planes, etc. but they are alive and evolved into monsters with some kind of black goo or substance and you have to escape the island

The game looks like it was made in RPG maker because of how "crusty" it looked so it may be one and it has the same gameplay perspective (top down camera) I'm almost certain it is an RPG maker game because of its pixelated artstyle

At one point in the game (somewhere early in the first hour or so) there is a chase sequence where you get chased by a war plane that has legs like a spider and you have to run away from it by dodging debris or else you'll get sliced up by its propeller

There is also a segment where you go into an underground bunker of sorts and the machine in there is like a sentient iron maiden type of monster that you can't get close to or else it will kill you instantly

My memories are very vague so some details may be slightly wrong but I can't find any other game that fits this description at all so take that as you will
I also don't know the exact year period it was made which sucks

Memento [PC][2000-2015] Top down Horror RPG maker game set on an island with (monsters?) or (military vehicles that are alive?)

Platform(s): PC, RPG Maker

Genre: Horror

Estimated year of release: Couldn't have been later than 2015

Graphics/art style: 2D Top down, got a bright tropical island tone at the beginning. Time progresses as the game goes on and theres a really dark and gloomy indoor level. Theres quite a lot of blood too.

Notable characters: I'm pretty sure you play as a girl but I can't really remember anything else about the characters. There's a part where you gained another party member but It got snatched by a monster thing while you're in the dark and gloomy indoor level.

Notable gameplay mechanics: There's boss fights in this game. One of them was where you're on a bridge and theres a (grotesque alive tank thing?) that chases you. (It might or might not have an attack where it shoots sharks and has a chainsaw at the front of it if any of that rings a bell.) It's not really a boss fight tho since you don't fight back and all you need to do is stand on the areas of the bridge where it can't hit you, I'm pretty sure it was trial and error.

Other details: There's a part in the game where you get inside a submarine that's on land and it either slides or jumps around to move.

Memento [PC] [Horror/RPG] [Pixel] game where you are a girl trapped in an island of with an abandoned city and full of abandoned vehicles such as submarines, backhoes, and other modern yet old and abandoned vehicles all inhabited by gigantic monsters

The vehicles and some of the puzzles in the game are technically bosses like the one in the plane is a giant spider while the backhoe is just a possessed vehicle, while the submarine is a nuclear sub with a very gigantic otter wearing it with her younglings. I saw gameplay footage of this game in the late 2010s in youtube now I can't find it anymore. It was a top down very pixely graphics like game. Just looking for any clues could help.

Memento [PC] [2010s] RPG Maker like Horror game

I'm trying to find a short but really interesting horror game that looked like it was made in RPG Maker, but maybe it wasn't, I'm not quite sure. It featured a woman trying to survive in a world full of living machines, for example, a giant submarine with legs, living cauldrons that moved when your weren't looking, etc. I only saw one gameplay in youtube and I've never been able to find it again.

Memento [Windows][Late 2000s-Early 2010s] Slight Horror RPG made using RPGMaker that featured abandoned military equipment mutated into biomechanical machines.

I came across a compilation of the main enemies of this RPG. I think the story was about a young girl who appears on an island where a war took place and a soldier betrayed/was possessed and killed his fellow soldiers so a lot of them became wandering souls. I remember one enemy’s title being “Ground-to-Ground Air Defense System” which looked something like this but, instead of wheels, it had 4 mechanical spider-legs. It was using several missles to down the player (this level was on a bridge). Another enemy was an old aircraft carrier/submarine that laid on a dried out sea/river. It became a monster that looked like a Plesiosaur but replace its main body with an aircraft carrier/sub. I think a recurring enemy was this giant skeleton but only the upper half of it. It quickly crawled and chased the player character (I think this was the betrayer).

Note: I think the title of the video was Japanese but the game dialogue was in English.

Memento On the hunt for a unique action rpg with frightening bosses. Maybe you recognize it?

EDIT: This post has been solved! The game is memento.

Trying to find a very unique action rpg with scary bosses I played a long time ago— but I can’t remember the title. Maybe you recognize it?

Hi.

I’m new to reddit (hello) and I hope this hunt for a video game belongs here. If not, I can move it.

I’ve been on the hunt for an action rpg with an unknown title for a while now. I played it a few years ago and was struck by its uniquely designed bosses and grim tone. I can’t remember what the game is called for the life of me, however, and all my searching has come up with no results. I’d like to play through it again. It was a unique experience.

From what I remember, it was a top-down pixellated action RPG. My guess is it was made around the late 2000’s, maybe early 2010’s. I’m pretty sure it was an RPG maker game.

The story was about a girl (she had black hair, I believe) living in a world devastated by war. She was exploring old battlefields in the game where weapons of mass destruction still walked. I remember the bosses vividly, and I remember some of their names.

My best clues are the bosses. They’re very distinct. The first boss is a cricket-like monster with a propeller where its head should be. It chases the player in its fight, and makes chainsaw noises. The next boss fight is with some kind of crushing creature. You run, and it tried to crush you from above. It looked kind of like one of those giant magnets used to pick up cars in a junkyard. The next boss has a name I can remember— Casket. It was strange— a machine, or a container, that would grab you and crush you as it followed you. You had to escape before it could catch you. The next boss was a salamander—looking submarine. It was not violent. I believe you had to fill the area around it with water in the fight? This is the least vivid boss for me because it didn’t scare me. The last boss is named Dave. He is a skeleton with no lower half. He was a general whose men were all killed in the aforementioned war. You enter his house only to see a changing portrait of Dave, the skeleton, as he gets closer and closer to you. Then the portrait is empty. The house is quiet for a while as you explore— then Dave wiggles onto screen and you run. You end in his basement where a shrine to his fallen men is.

That’s as much as I can remember about this game. Its bosses were terrifying to a much younger me. I can’t even remember most of the story other than what I mentioned. But that’s why I want to play it again. I hope someone recognizes it. Thank you.

Memento [PC] [UNKNOWN] RPG Maker (?) Horror Game with Plane Monster

Platform(s): PC Genre: Horror Estimated year of release: Unknown Graphics/art style: Typical RPG Maker-style graphics, 2D Notable characters: Feamel protagonist, rusty plane monster that crawls Notable gameplay mechanics: Unknown Other details: I was referred to here from TOTM. Here's the original post:

"Okay, so bear with me here.

I came across a relatively obscure YT video a few weeks back that was basically a compilation of monsters from a video game. I remember that I didn't have time to watch it then and there, so I bookmarked it - or so I thought I did. I'm dumb.

I remember the first monster, some kind of rusty plane monster that crawled on the ground and chased the protagonist character for some time. It had a big epic name, and it looked pretty freaky. The protagonist was female, black hair.

This may be very obscure and I understand that, but if anyone could find this game (damn, maybe even the video) then I would be ridiculously grateful."
