Quick question about modifiers (hull, shield, impulse, ect.): what do these numbers mean? How does this effect a ship's performance?

They're all multipliers. So (given otherwise equal builds), a ship with a 1.5 mod would have a 50% higher stat than a ship with a 1.0 mod.

Hull: A T6 (or T5U) ship's at level 65 has a base hull of 45000 x HullMod. For lower levels and lower tier ships, the 45000 is replaced with a smaller number.

Shield: Same concept, but instead of coming from the ship's tier, your capacity comes from your equipped shield item. Note that when you look at the tooltip for a shield, it is already taking your ship's Shield Mod into account.

Impulse: Same concept, but for your movement speed. Like with shields, the baseline number is coming from your equipped impulse engine.
