After Mariner made the comment about the ENT decon gel being taken off the market for a reason, did anybody else think the gel was going to be the explanation for why SB80 was "cursed"?

The episode description says Ransom uses too much gel, so i thought there was going to be some negative effect on him but that was just a weird epsiode descriotion thing
