Why did this episode feel kind of like a soft pilot for a spin-off series.

I was thinking backdoor pilot the whole time as well.

Yeah. Star Trek LD has always had some pretty nice moments of fluid animation but Kassia Nox was borderline noodle-animation-ing all over the place. It makes me think this episode in particular got a bit of a budget boost as a pilot, maybe.

Furthermore, I can't be the only one who felt like they were setting up a BeckettXNox thing right?

What is noodle animation and what is BeckettXNo?

Noodleanimation is sorta like old Looney Tunes type animation, think like Cuphead. I'm exaggerating here for comedic purposes but Nox just did NOT stop moving. haha. And the significance there is full-body animation is typically more expensive to animate, leading to me surmising that the budget might be higher for this ep.

But I'm just some dude. I dunno.

If Beckett X Nox might be a thing, I ship it faster than a Miranda leaving Utopia Planitia.
