Imagine living your life in a hallway basically

u/Decayingore 3d ago
Exactly what I was thinking

u/Early_Accident2160 1d ago
Ye., don’t keep this .. this is bullshit dude. Give that fish a tank , are you kidding ?

u/Ill_Most_3883 3d ago
At least in a hallway you don't hit the wall every time you turn around.
I would put this closer to living between the exterior and interior wall of an old home.

Looks cool! Should not have sentient beings in it
168
u/spiffynid 3d ago
Would look cool with some aquatic plants. or have a pathos growing out of the slot, but no critters.
64
u/camoure 3d ago
I’d do an ant farm - they do really well in small spaces
35
u/A_Shattered_Day 3d ago
Those aren't really any better though, those are just a bunch of sterile workers who try to build a nest for a queen who isn't there. A real formicarium requires much, much more space.
27
u/Confident_Start_4077 3d ago
Eh depends, easily could be a cool terrarium for an acorn ants colony! They live, birth, grow old, and die in a single acorn
10
u/LordGhoul 2d ago
I once accidentally kidnapped a whole ant colony like this because they happened to be a similar species. Took a tree fungus home, then confused ants came out of a tiny hole. I had to wait until all ants returned back inside and bring it back to the woods where I found it lol

Think a cherry shrimp would be ok? It’s a pretty gorgeous container, though I’m not sure it would be suitable for any animals.

u/Enderbro231 2d ago
Could put some cool small water bugs in it, like water louse or Scuds, hell id fill it with daphnia
1
u/MirrorscapeDC 1d ago
Might work, depending on water volume. They are a lot smaller, so shouldn't struggle to turn around. But you would need to plant it properly.

Nothing cooler on my desktop than a little depressed fish desperately squeezed between two walls like they’re Scrat from Ice Age

it looks extremely skinny... erring on the side of shitty, as well as a nightmare to clean

If it was bigger it could be a cool ant farm
3
3
u/JacketInner2390 3d ago
Even ant farms need more space than that
31
u/grimiskitty 3d ago
I think that's why they said "if it was bigger..."
5
u/JacketInner2390 3d ago
Oh sorry I didn’t read it properly
7
u/grimiskitty 3d ago
No it's cool, I just wanted you to know there was a miscommunication or misreading. I've seen arguements started over less and I think we all just want to agree this tank sucks and shouldn't exist unless they make it bigger and better..

Who in their right minds would think that this was alright?!?!!?

No idea! The people making those creations were speaking a different language, but people were supporting it in the comments

I'm guessing this may be some kind of resin filled diorama. Or maybe I just have too much faith in humanity.

u/blind_disparity 3d ago
We think that the product is 1/10 the size that photoshopped betta tries to make it look
6
u/Forestt_Gobblin 3d ago
It doesn’t even have space to look towards the camera 😭 it must be hell trying to turn around
6
u/A_n0nnee_M0usee 3d ago
They have an Instagram account Decofish but the company isn't English speaking. The video has a larger tank with small Angel fish. It all does look stunning but like the company's name, the fish are just decorations. 😢

u/fruitless7070 3d ago
Cool enough without adding a fish. Just cause it holds water and looks cool doesn't mean you should throw in a fish.
4
u/PeopleOnTheCeling 3d ago
Ahh yes. The Bill Cipher treatment. Very humane and totally not a form of animal abuse.
7
u/AccomplishedEgg9768 3d ago
Cute as a glass painting idea, jail for whoever put a fish in that thing

u/Mack-Attack33 3d ago
Imagin living in the walls of your house instead of in the actual rooms! Poor fishy!

I would so have this if it wasn’t like a half an inch thick. Just make it wider and I could so do something with that

Would be gorgeous as a resin piece, I don't get why people do this with living creatures

We should just invent super realistic robot fish so people can't put actual animals in stupid tanks like these

u/raccoon-nb 3d ago
Looks sort of cool. Not for living, sentient beings though. At the very most, I'd maybe put a few snails or some sea monkeys in there, but even that's a stretch. Maybe just some small plants.
Looks like it would be a nightmare to clean too.

Very cool container for a dozen neocaridina shrimp, aquatic isopods, scudds, bladder snails and a few other tiny aquatic creatures, but no way suited for anything bigger than that... that would be animal abuse.
Also very suited for a mossarium with some terrestrial isopods and small millipedes.
3
u/PuzzleheadedBear 2d ago
Horrible for fish, but i would 10,000% subject my shrimp to this as if it was an aquatic ant farm.

7
u/SinceWayLastMay 3d ago
Snails and plants would be actually cool :(
6
u/FishTankTrev 3d ago
you think a small group of shrimp could live happy in here? it being more planted ofc
5
u/SinceWayLastMay 3d ago
Probably some tiny hardy ones that wouldn’t mind living between two panes of glass

Definitely, not defiantly.

Horrible for fish, but at least prettier/cooler than some of the other 'aquariums' I've seen here.
Use this to house something doesn't actually need to be able to turn around (or something small enough to live comfortably) and I wouldn't have an issue with it.
But that betta...does not belong in there.

Can that poor fish even turn around??? 💀
2
u/Decayingore 2d ago
Surprisingly yes, but the beta was small and struggling to turn around
2
u/thatwannabewitch 2d ago
Poor baby. 😭 it’s a cool concept if it was scaled up to actually give the fish room to swim.
2
u/stealtheagle52 2d ago
I think the concept is cool, but definitely way to thin Make it big enough so the fish could thrive and it would be neat

And the way it shows that you don't give a crap about him will also be on glorious display as well!

This betta knows that with this 1x5 tiny hallway it will need bed frame made of galvanized steel for its many many children.

It could be really neat, if it was bigger. I'm curious how the poor guy turns around in that.
1
u/Fickle_Grapefruit938 3d ago
How does the fish turn around? It really doesn't look wide enough for the poor fish to turn
1

u/cloud1445 3d ago
If you stick a plant in it instead of a fish it'd be cool. Definitely not cool for the fish.

It would ROCK for a bunch of plants, but I cannot imagine putting any living creature in there
1
u/Moasark_Art 2d ago
Actually, this could potentially not be too bad. I remember betas tend to like to swim back and forth more than all around, but that still is probably way too thin. If it were a good few inches wider it might actually be okay

this making me claustrophobic just looking at it. “decofish” when will mfs stop treating living beings as decorations just because they’re small and don’t make any noise

Would be much better as a decoration with a fake fish inside some epoxy resin

They could've just built this as a pleasing painting/sculpture. Why on earth did they have to involve a real fish in this??
1
u/deathwotldpancakes 19m ago
Make it about five times wider and put heat and filtration in the frame and that’ll actually be really cool
1
u/HappyLittleDelusion_ 3d ago
Would look nice with some plants. If it was bigger it would be a cool guppy/endler tank.

Not narrow enough. The fish can still turn around if it tucks and rolls.
