Dumb question but...

Yes.

This is not financial advise.

You will need to reprogram your ECU with a B235 calibration but yeah, I’ve done it back in the day. It’s the same block except for crank and connecting rods

He needs new wiring for engine harness AND Interior. Both for Miu and sid

Yes he does, It communicates via P bus which is missing on the 98 9-3. Same for the SID...

98 9-3 uses trionic 5

9-5 and the b235 uses trionic 7

Nope. He’s just changing the motor, not entire system. T5 is capable of running b235 motor. MIU and SID has absolutely nothing to do with it

No it's, it has A COMPLETLY DIFFERENT Manifold, throttle body as b2x4 has a mechanical one, sensor etc.

Yes it does because you CANT put B235 calibration on a T5. Those calibration are for T7 and won't flash over. And he can't T7 convert as need completly different electrionics

A t5 2.3 calibration will work fine with a b235 block. T5 is way easier to make changes to with t5 suite too, so that’s really not an issue. Yes, manifold is different, I would probably swap the head, since t5 cams are better anyway, if I was in his position. Then again I wouldn’t ask these questions before doing that anyway.. there is plenty of info available as it is, I had no issues doing any of my swaps - auto to manual, 2.0 to 2.3, etc

A T5 head on a T7 block is the worst of all worlds. Make no sense. Far better/easier ways to turn a 2.0l T5 into a 2.3l T5 than this. Is it possible? Sure. Good idea? No.
