Best Post-Rock of 2017

It’s that time of year again, where we nominate and vote on our absolute favorite post-rock album release of the year! Just like we've done in previous years, we'll let this post run for a couple of weeks, then tally the results and share them in another post, along with a playlist for all to enjoy.

THE RULES:

  • Format like so: ARTIST NAME - ALBUM NAME (any thoughts/comments can go on a new line...)
  • CTRL+F and see if someone has already submitted the album. Dupes will be deleted.
  • Only ONE ALBUM per comment.
  • Feel free to discuss the album by replying to the post.

2017 ALBUMS

Consult the 2017 Releases wiki page if you need to refresh your memory on what was released this year. Notice something missing? Help us out and add to the page!

Thanks for participating!

It’s a art gallery/venue in Massachusetts that they’re playing at in March

Anthem for No State is one of their all time best songs and you can't convince me otherwise.

I wouldn't even dare to try!

This is seriously a great fucking album. They trimmed down the drones and just focused on the tunes. I can't understand the lukewarm reception to it.

The only thing that disappointed was the lack of voice overs that were so prominent back on Lift your skinny fists and Slow Riot and F#A#. Other than that I thought the album is as beautiful as anything else they released.

I agree, though they've been using significantly fewer spoken samples every since the hiatus. Still an incredible piece though!

That is true! I suppose the song titles in this album are vivid enough that voice overs aren't necessary
