Help - Photoshop 2024 Crashing After Pasting Frames Help!

Hoping this community can help me out. I've been making gifs on Photoshop (installed on my Macbook Pro) for several years without any problems, but today I ran into a rather big one: while attempting to paste frames from one PSD onto the timeline of another (using "Select all frames" > "Copy frames" > "Paste frames" > "Paste after selection" and "link added layers" chosen) Photoshop crashed. I tried again, and it crashed again. Rinse and repeat several more times. I've never run into this bug before, and otherwise haven't had any glitches with these specific PSDs, so I'm at a loss as to what's happening. Nothing else on my computer seems to be affected when this occurs, and no other tools on Photoshop seem to trigger this issue (that I've seen, anyway).

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

You have of course restarted Ps to see if that cleared it.

And you've rebooted the Mac to see if that cleared it.

You can in Preferences > General click reset preferences and restart Ps.

You have also assured that your primary scratch disk has enough free storage.

If none of those things have cleared the problem you can try the following.

Since you're using a Mac, you can log into a different user account and try again. If Ps doesn't crash, then you'll know it's something within that one user account. At that point I'd use the Adobe CC app to uninstall and reinstall, so that the user account gets fresh files in all the places that they need to be.

Make sure before uninstalling that you've saved your custom workspace, custom actions, brushes, gradients, and patterns (and custom presets) to an external drive that you use for backups.
