Thinking of adopting a dog from a local animal shelter. Iโ€™ve looked at the pups listed on their website. Is it weird to go to the shelter looking for a specific dog? Something about that feels weird to me.

I feel like I should go there and play with a few before deciding.

I think your best course of action is to select to look at the dog that best fits your lifestyle on paper but explain that you're also looking at other dogs when you get there, I'm sure they're used to that.

Doesn't feelt weird to me, but I also have never adopted a dog.
