Deeply unfortunate she had to retire after this

"Congratulations to Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance on their victory," Deputy Political Director Alex Latcham said in a statement. "After four years under Kamala Harris, Hawkeye state voters are eager for President Trump to fix what Kamala Harris broke. Starting on Day 1, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance will help to ease costs, secure the border, and protect Social Security for retirees like Ann Selzer."

Nah that was a good burn. If it were the other way around you’d agree,

Lol no i wouldn't - who is the counterpart to Ann Selzer that I'm dunking on in this scenario?

What do you mean Republican counterpart? Pollsters are supposed to be objective. What I meant is that if she had said +14 for Trump and Harris won by +3, I think this sub would view that burn differently if it were made by a Kamala campaign guy in the opposite direction.

TL;DR is that it was a warranted and funny jab at her and you’re just salty.

It’s not warranted. Stop normalizing dbaggy and unbecoming behavior. And I find it hard to believe a Kamala staffer would release a statement like this. I don’t recall her campaign ever being this petty.

The amount of takes I’ve seen since the election that are essentially running cover for Trumpism…my god. Have some dignity, people. We can be objective and point out things the Trump campaign did well to win without pretending like their behavior is normal and acceptable.

You’ve replied to this thread 4 separate times. It’s clear you’re just salty like the other guy. But it’s been like this for as long as elections were a thing. The winning side throws jabs at the losing side after a hard-fought battle and a well-earned victory (and despite everything wrong with Trump, the Republicans did win fair and square so let them have their fun with this). As long as it’s not some sort of an appalling insult (and this wasn’t that) it’s cool. Tale your bitterness somewhere else. We’re already planning for ‘28 here.

Lol, I’m replying out of concern for the Gen Z idiots that y’all think this is normal. Gotta teach the children. Salty about what? Losing Iowa, that’s been red since 2008? Good lord, your brain is a fascinating study. By all means, mouth off IRL like you’re in a Call of Duty chat room and let me know how it goes. 👍

gotta teach the children

Yes, it is OBVIOUS that you are salty. After getting called out, you resorted into direct insults and name-calling. Not funny and intelligent burns, but bitter and sardonic comments—the Reddit way of doing it. It’a also very interesting that when Redditors don’t directly know you, they’ll just make things up about you to make fun of you like the Call of Duty reference. It’s safe to say that more often than not, when Reddiors say things like this, they’re just projecting.

(Also, saying that “believing Iowa might turn blue means your brain needs to be studied” is a WAY worse insult first and foremost to Selzer herself than anything the GOP guy said about her—especially considering the fact that she was going ALL IN with her poll results. Of course, this is also probably another case of Reddit projection. The bitter, salty and sardonic hyperbole makes it all the more obvious. There’s a good chance that along with the rest of Reddit—and especially this sub—you bought into it too.)

This is the longest response but I’m salty? Not reading this novel. Bye! Enjoy being petty, I’m sure that’ll get you far in life.

Nah, you did read it but you had nothing to say at the end—except, in another classic Reddit fashion, you’re not willing to admit that.

Oh so your take is "if things were different, they'd be different"

Groundbreaking lol

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be making fun of her getting put out to pasture but hey, what do I know about me

u/Replies-Nothing Milton Friedman Nov 17 '24

No, I’m saying if things were favoring your side, you’d call that joke “funny” instead of calling them “assholes” which shows that you’re just salty that your side lost. I literally cannot explain this in simpler terms.

Okay thanks for telling me who I am ❤️ I'm learning a lot

Holy shit you’re such a Reddit moment. It’s complete with the sardonic reply.

Also, I’m mentioning “you” as a plural. Unfortunately, English doesn’t distinguish between 2nd person singular and plural.

👍 Ok

My bad for thinking you were talking to me instead of 'us' lol

u/Replies-Nothing Milton Friedman Nov 17 '24

Damn, did just honestly acknowledge a genuine misunderstanding?

That’s the opposite of a Reddit moment. Congrats!
