Can’t be a true contender, if there isn’t some team that for some reason always kicks your ass

As good as the Cavs are this year, every time we play the Hawks I'm transported back in time to the '22 play-in where I sat in that arena watching Trae pick our defense apart.

Cavs against every team not named the Hawks: 27-2, second best record though 29 games ever. Cavs against the Hawks...

If we only played the hawks for a whole season, we'd go 0-82 😩

Yeah I think you guys are good enough that you can dodge the play in. It also feels like Trae is starting to settle into the role of hyper playmaker and less of a carry the load guy. It feels like (probably because you have Trae) people super underestimate your young guys, but DD and JJ are both super legit.

I posted it in the Timberwolves postgame thread, but when the Hawks beat you it's actually good for you in the longterm lately.
Teams following losses to the Hawks:
Cleveland has lost 1 single game since losing to us.
The Knicks have Climbed back into 3rd in the East only a couple games back of the 1 seed.
The Bucks won the NBA cup.
The Lakers have gotten back to the 6-seed in the West.
And the Wolves had a season saving victory after winning on Christmas.
Let us bless you with losses and you too shall come out a brand new, inspiring basketball team.
