Traffic-spotainment I still think it’s crazy that TN license plates tell police if someone is a Christian or not just by reading the plate number. (If you ask for a plate without “In God We Trust” on it your plate number starts with Letter. Which is the opposite of normal plates)

Traffic-spotainment Thanks MNPD

To the cop that passed by not one but two accidents this morning without stopping, thank you for your service.

65/24S split on the north side. Car 1 rear ended Car 2 in the #2 lane. Cop came from 24W onto 65S, slowed down, drivers were outside their vehicles, and the cop continued on.

That wreck happened because another accident had slowed traffic maybe a hundred yards further up involving a tractor trailer. Cop didn't enen bother slowing down for that one.

I know MNPD has given up on anything related to traffic or even giving a damn about residents, but to see this blatant disregard for people's safety is so disheartening.

Traffic-spotainment Lived in 17 US cities and Nashville has the worst drivers I’ve ever seen

Stop at a red light and person behind you will nearly put their front bumper into your trunk. It’s like a fun game for the drivers here of how close can I get without hitting you.

On every road you’re driving down, someone pulling out to turn right or left from a side street is sticking a cars length into your lane, or fully sends it last minute causing everyone to slam on their breaks.

I don’t think anyone here understands the concept of… a lane? Or a blinker.

If you honk at someone lightly for sitting at a green light for 17.56 seconds you are going to receive the bird, because of course that’s your fault.

30 mins outside Nashville in any direction is great. Nice drivers. But city drivers here in the metro area are horrific, and I have lived in many major metro areas across the USA.

Posted this in r/TransitMaps a week ago so posting here. Try not get too excited now as this is just a simple concept I made in PowerPoint that illustrates rail transit routes with majority using existing freight rail tracks. Looking to see if anyone has thought of a better concept in mind.

Traffic-spotainment PSA: if nobody is hurt in your car accident, you can move to a parking lot.

It took an hour to get from the Zoo to the intersection of Nolensville and Harding Place this afternoon because two guys in a fender bender decided to just sit in the left lane with their hazards on.

I got to the front and stopped beside them at a red light. They were standing outside between the cars, so I roll my window down and ask if anybody had been hurt. They both shake their head “no” at me. I tell them they’re causing a giant traffic jam and to move it into a parking lot. They just stare blankly at me and proceed to do absolutely nothing.

If we need OSHA and sexual harassment training once per year, this is reason #738265 why we need recurring driving tests.

Traffic-spotainment Lots of state troopers

Just a big heads up, as someone who makes deliveries around Nashville..if you drive thru the Airport construction, The area in west Nashville around 40/ Briely splits and 65S from OHB inward.

Lots and lots of state troopers running radar. The drops from 65 to 55 is starting to be enforced more heavily and that construction zone.

Most speeding tickets from state troopers are double what would be a normal 150ish ticket...which can lead to a $600 ticket in construction areas.

Traffic-spotainment Why does it take twelve years for people to GO when the light turns green?

I know we have plenty of issues with drivers here in town, especially just plain terrible and some aggressive, but I wanted to ask about this... what the fuck is everyone doing when the light turns green? I've noticed, repeatedly, at intersections like Eastland/Gallatin, if you're more than 5 cars back in the line, you won't make the left-turn light, because everyone (a) takes for fuckin' ever to actually start moving and (b) takes the turn at like 2 mph. What the holy hell is the issue? Light turns green, fucking GO, people. Jesus. I mean, like, don't be a dummy and not look both ways just in case, but that takes 3-5 seconds, not fifteen.

CLARIFICATION: I understand the first car waiting to make sure no one is blowing through the red light, I should've been more clear there. What I'm talking about is that, when they decide to go, (1) they roll through like syrup and then (2) every subsequent car behind them also takes forever to start moving and inches through. If you have 30 seconds, you should be getting more than six cars through the light.

Traffic-spotainment My home overlooks a major Nashville Intersection

A few observations:

Red lights are just a suggestion.

Pedestrians are always one wrong step away from being roadkill.

Every driver is the most important person on earth. All ye hail the impatient driver who didn’t allow enough time for their commute.

Being on a scooter absolves you from any and all responsibility or rules of the road/sidewalk.

Also, if you’re on a scooter, you can switch between the sidewalk and street whenever it’s most convenient for you.

Everyone should be prepared to face a wrong way driver head on at any given moment.

People really don’t know where the front of their cars end.

No one cares about your humanity if you’re inside a moving vehicle.

If you’re turning left, no need to observe the double yellow line. You cut that turn as early as you want.

Feel free to block the intersection because everyone else be damned!

Traffic-spotainment Fall in Nashville

I’ve noticed that not a lot of leaves have fallen yet but an insane amount of ladders have fallen onto I65 as of late, secure your shit people. If you can’t keep a ladder secured in your vehicle, your mom a hoe. In the past month I’ve had to avoid 2 ladders and a king size mattress in the middle of the lane. Also how do y’all lose so many propane grills on the Interstate? It’s pretty wild.

They have 4 foot signs that are very graphic, and a few guys with megaphones are screaming about hell. There was a kid screaming in the car next to mine stopped at the light, I can’t imagine experiencing that as a child.

Where would you recommend on Broadway? Nothing.

Is traffic usually this bad? No. It's usually worse.

Can you play Morgan Wallen? Hell no.

How do you live here if you don't like country music? I just listen to the other 90% of music they play here.

Do you get cut off like that a lot? Yes. I probably will again before I get you to your hotel.

Did that girl on that party bus just flash her tits? Probably.

Can I smoke in here? Hell no.
