Today my mother was not able to remember the exact word for complaint. Now were a marathi family but due to my dad's postings we mostly hung out with hindi speaking folks and speak in hindi at home. And the marathi I know is what I've read and heard so I can easily manage to speak whenever required. And she uses the word "Gunha" and I correct her with "Gunha is for crime and "Takraar" is for complaint. And she's proud and I'm proud and happy.

Hello, So, while I can understand and read Marathi, I am not very good in speaking. I was hoping to improve my Marathi by reading. Can you recommend any online sources for articles or books that I could read?

(I enjoy genres such as slice of life, fiction. I'm also interested in learning more about history, epics and mythologies)

हल्लीच हे गीत ऐकलं आणि अगदी earworm होऊन बसलंय.. पण या गाण्यातील "सइ ये, रमुनी साऱ्या या जगात रिक्त भाव असे परि, कैसे गुंफु गीत हे?" या ओळीचा अर्थ नीटसा समजला नाही.

जुना काळ, ती माणसे मोहित करतात पण आज २०२४ च्या शेवटी ते साहित्य थोडं उथळ किंवा एकांगी वाटू लागलं आहे. सगळंच थोड्याफार प्रमाणत self deprecation किंवा नेमस्त, भिडस्तपणाला वाहून घेतलेलं वाटतं.

पुलंच्या साहित्याबद्दल अतिशय आदर आहे त्यामुळे त्याचा अपमान करण्याचा हेतू नाही. पण आज विचार करतोय की लहान असताना एवढं self deprecation वाचनात आलं नसतं तर जडणघडण वेगळी झाली असती का?

कदाचित downvote करण्यासारखं मत असेल पण फक्त मुक्त चिंतन आहे, किंवा thinking out loud.

Recently in a podcast Nana Patekar said that Marathi movies should also get dubbed in Hindi. And I think he is right over here. Because the kind of acceptance south movies are receiving pan India is because of previous movies being dubbed in Hindi. I seriously don't think Pushpa (part 1) would have been so successful pan India if no other south movies was dubbed in Hindi and telecasted all over India.

I'm literally feed up, by the Bollywoods remakes. Marathi movies like swas, dombivali fast and many more would receive so much of appreciation and acceptance if they are dubbed in other languages and made available on different platforms. Lastly it will also help in boosting the financial factor of marathi cinema and we can produce much better quality cinema's.
