New Rule - No Non-Adobe Presets
Good morning, afternoon, evening; upon review of the recent drama and the reality is that your mods are human with day jobs. We will no longer be allowing posts about presets that are not free for all in the discover tab of Lightroom.
Ongoing discussions in this sub about presets turn into a nightmare each time. There are other subs that will be more suited for non-Adobe preset discussion.

HELP - Lightroom Mobile Import only RAWs?
I‘m shooting RAW+JPEG. JPEG bc sometimes I quickly want to send a few photos through WIFI to my phone for a first check.
However when I‘m importing the files from the SD card to Lr on my iPad it keeps always adding both file versions though I would only prefer to have the RAWs (trying to safe at least some cloud space and I really do not need the JPGS at this point any longer).
I know I can filter for RAW, but this doesn’t help with the cloud space.
Is there any trick or workaround so I really only import the RAWs?
(On a side note I also tried only shooting RAW and sharing the RAW file through WIFI to my phone, but somewhere along the sharing process they turn the RAW file into a 200 KB JPEG, and that doesn’t do the job.)

HELP Which tablet is best for editing?
Hello,
I am looking to get a tablet that I can edit photos on (not professionally just as a hobby), and have been looking at Samsung or the iPad Pro. I am leaning towards the pro at this point as I have seen that many people prefer it for lightroom but am open to any suggestions. I do have a desktop, so this would just be a backup for when I am not at home.
I would also use it for school, so something that would be good for that too.
If there is another place I can post this, please let me know!
Thanks for your help!

HELP - Lightroom Classic Lag free photo scrolling *sigh*
Is it just me or it's impossible to achieve with the current LR software?
I purchased a maxed out MBP, built every preview, using off the hard drive etc. and still can't achieve lagless scrolling between photos. Going from one photo to the next sequentially is lag free but if I try to scroll 5+ photos up it takes a second or so to generate the sharp image
Any other tips on how this can be done?
I miss the Canon DPP 3.x days when I could just cull on the computer and not have any lag whatsoever :'(
*UPDATE*:
Sorry, I think I fixed the problem. When building 1:1 previews, it fixes the issue, I can now literally hold down the arrow keys and the photos are instantaneous even when scrolling at that faster than eye speed - the trick was to build 1:1 previews, I was on "standard previews". I will leave this post up if it helps others.
Specs to achieve lagless scrolling:
MBP (maxed)
1:1 previews and smart previews (though not sure if the latter is necessary)
working of hard drive (internal)
20gb cache setting (dunno why I put that but I read it helps online)

Workflow Mouse & keyboard alternatives?
I’ve been getting ads for the TourBox and found a lot of positive reviews, as well as alternatives like the X-touch mini, but most of what I’ve found is several years old. What’s everyone using these days? Anything better out there?

Processing Question Help with Cinestill T images taken outdoors on a cloudy day?
I took a few film portrait shots with Cinestill 800t outdoors on a very cloudy day.
I had not planned on such a situation but a very nice guy allowed me to take his portrait outdoors and I will get the scans back in a few weeks
My question is whether there are presets or just some advice on how to edit these shots that I didn’t take under Tungsten light ?
I am pretty new to Lightroom. I could imagine perhaps I should turn down the “warmth”?

HELP Having difficulty unsyncing photos between LR Classic and CC to reduce total storage. Any advice?
I'm currently 16GB over my limit of 100GB in cloud storage. Most of this is because of LR catalogs that are synced to the cloud, and were either a) stored locally in LR Classic and synced to the cloud, or, uploaded to the cloud via Lightroom CC in the mobile app.
For whatever reason, unsyncing catalogs in LR Classic is not doing anything. The cloud icon at the top right tells me that Local Activity is synced, the button says "pause syncing," and despite just unsyncing hundreds of photos, nothing changed to the storage.
Likewise, if I go to my "From Lightroom" catalogs that were photos added via my phone on the mobile app, nothing changes.
How do I go about successfully reducing this to get below my storage amount? Nothing changes to the total synced amount, even in the CC desktop app, where it just tells me "Libraries syncing."
Thanks in advance for your help.

Processing Question AI denoise with recent iGPUs?
Hello, I am considering a new laptop purchase and I am wondering if it is worth it to spend about a 100€ extra (not to mention the sacrifices light weight and power efficiency) to get a Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 with 8845HS and RTX 3050, rathen than just getting a different 8845HS laptop with a 780M built-in. How much longer would it take for the AI denoiser to process one RAW file with the iGPU?

Discussion Can you use Photoshop to create masks and then do all the editing in Lightroom?
I photograph subjects that require careful masking, and I find that Lightroom's selection tools are often not enough. It also takes an incredibly long time to do everything manually with the brush. I'm therefore wondering if it's possible to use Photoshop to create layers and masks, and then transfer it to Lightroom so that the edits are as in the mask panel (see attached image, not my image).
Can you do this so that the masks appear in Lightroom and work the same way as if you created them directly in Lightroom? Or if I instead make the adjustments in Photoshop - is it the same system and results as if you edited in Lightroom?
Thanks in advance for your tips! 😊
(I recently wrote a post but now want to make a clearer version to better explain what result I actually want to achieve. I'm also thinking about getting Photoshop and therefore wondering if it's possible to collaborate effectively between Photoshop and Lightroom.)

HELP - Lightroom Classic How to set up a "filters" (rating, flagging and color labels) bar in LightRoom Classic?
I extensive use ratings, flags and color labels to organise my huge catalog and I prefer to use filters in right-bottom corner of library module, like this, with flags, stars and colours mini-panels:
But after reinstalling LrC on new system it looks like this by default and returns to this "default" state after every application launch:
I faced this issue before and found the way how to fix it but it was several years ago and now I completely forget how I did it unfortunately. I tried to make a new preset but unfortunately this wasn't help. Please help to set it up correctly again! Thanks in advance.

HELP - Lightroom Mobile How to import ProRaw shots to LR mobile as seen in Photos app?
Hi! I am currently getting into photography and am testing Lightroom mobile (v10.1.1) with some shots from an iPhone 16 pro.
The ProRaw settings are: Camera capture: most compatible Photo mode: 24 mp Pro Raw max (up to 48 MP) Pro Raw format: JPEG Lossless (most compatible)
I tried to import the image into Lightroom mobile to edit it a bit. But as soon as I import it, the image changes drastically, as seen in the gif. Yall can see the problem here.
I read that it's because of the Photo app's built in processing but is there any chance to import that into Lightroom too? I just can't get it to look as nicely as it does in the Photo's app and it's making me sad.
I have Lightroom set to import proraw with camera settings.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great day!

Discussion HDR on google Pixel 8 pro
It’s well-known that Ultra HDR support on the Pixel 8 Pro has faced some challenges, and for about a year, it wasn’t fully available for this model. However, with the release of Lightroom Mobile version 10.1, Ultra HDR editing is now officially supported on the Pixel 8 Pro.
The images look stunning in HDR while working within the app. But here’s the issue: when I save the edited image (as a JPG) and view it in the native Google Photos app on my Pixel 8 Pro, it no longer displays in HDR. Instead, it looks like an SDR version of the image, losing the vibrant details and dynamic range I see in Lightroom.
To check if this was specific to my device, I tried the same on my brother’s Pixel 7 Pro, and it’s facing the exact same issue.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to ensure that the saved images retain their HDR quality when viewed in Google Photos, or is this a limitation with the format/settings? Any tips or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Processing Question Importing a large batch of photos from an Iphone.
Anyone have a work around for importing a large number of photos from a iphone into
Lightroom?
It’s about 6,000 photos. When we plug in to LR, the icon spins in light room like its thinking and times out after for a crazy amount of time. Occasionally the photos will pop up in the import windo and allow us to select a small batch and pull off a few photos in LR but it's mostly times out.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

HELP How to access adobe cloud storage from mobile app
Total noob at adobe (and general dinosaur in life)...
Lightroom android V10.1.0 (mobile)
Adobe Lightroom V8.1 (windows desktop)
I bought lightroom and have the app on my mobile and desktop version on laptop. I can download pics from my camera onto laptop. I can see/edit them on desktop lightroom, so I assume they are sync'd to the cloud? I've no idea... it does say on the desktop version that I've used a 2.4 Gb of cloud storage.
Anyway, I have lightroom on my mobile and can access photos I take with my mobile, but cannot see anything else.
So my question: is it possible to access the photos from adobe creative cloud from the mobile app?
on mobile app there are 3 tabs: Gallery, Lightroom, Community
"Gallery" has only pics Ive taken with my phone.
"Lightroom" has a cloud icon that is ticked "Synced and Backed up"
Any help appreciated - or pointer to a useful forum where I could learn this stuff...
Thank you for your time :)

HELP - Lightroom Classic How to export my lightroom library/photos for max compatibility?
I have a ton of old libraries and photos in lightroom. Haven't touched it in almost a year and my subscription is about to expire. I need a way to export my libraries and photos to archive and use them again at a later time, ideally without being locked into lightroom/adobe.
It's a couple TB of raw photos and a lot of edited ones.
Handling the raw files is no issue, exporting the final images also doable, but i suppose i will loose any editing and re-do everything from scratch unless i'm lucky to come back to lightroom in a version that is still backwards compatible enough?

HELP - Lightroom Classic Lightroom Classic only opening as a background process.
I cannot get Lightroom Classic to actually open. It is only opening as a background process. I have searched through the Adobe Community forum. While I seem to be finding the exact issue I am experiencing, none of the fixes have worked.
When I try to open it, it is creating a LRCAT-SHM File and a LOCK file. When I use task manager to End the task (because I have no other way to close/quit the application), I manually delete these files and try again. No luck. The last Adobe Lightroom Classic catalog file I have is from 12/16.
I am using Windows 11 Pro and my LRC is up-to-date.

HELP - Lightroom Classic Using 2 instances of Lightroom Classic with a shared folder... is it possible?
I currently have 2 instances of LrC, one running on a Mac Mini and one on a PC. I had set up a folder on my NAS drive with my pictures with the intention of sharing this drive between my PC and Mac. My Mac has no problem syncing with this folder, but unfortunately my PC doesn't. I want to be able to use my PC because it's more powerful and has a better 4k screen.
Long story short, when I tried to search for a solution I read that you should not use your NAS drive. So, what's the best and most efficient way to have 2 computers share a folder to work on photos? I hope it doesn't mean using the Adobe Cloud, but I guess it is what it is. I want to do it the right way.
TIA

HELP - Lightroom Classic HELP!! Exported photos looks entirely different- is somehow way brighter
This randomly happened just today when i opened up my lrc as always. It never have any problems like this before and i found it to be very weird and absurd. As my export settings are usually either sRGB IEC61966-2.1 or HDR sRGB. Its all in JPG. I even tried exporting totally unedited photo and it somehow just gets way brighter, like as if the shadow was offset. The images are below. I dont know what info else i could rlly provide so please! I rlly need to get this thing to work properly now- its always when the photos needed to be used on the same day.

Discussion Acer Nitro V 15 for Lightroom and Photoshop?
Looking at getting an Acer nitro v 15 during the Boxing Day sales, to be used for Lightroom and general photo editing as my poor old laptop is at them point of almost blowing when I open the software. 32gb ram, RTX 4060 and a i7 should cut it performance wise, and I am aware that the screen isn’t great but I have an oled monitor which I plug into so that isn’t an issue.

HELP - Lightroom Classic Library Filter resets whenever a new image is added in the Develop module?
LrC: 14.1.1
Apple M1 Pro
Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1 (24B91)
Trying to figure out if this is a change in the latest version of LrC or if it's something to do with my personal install whether that be a problem warranting a reinstall or if there's a setting somewhere.
Is anyone else seeing their Library Filter reset when a new image is added while in the Develop module? I've filtered my library to show, let's say, anything rated to two stars, select one, and then go into the Develop module. In the course of editing, I either run an AI Denoise or send it out to edit in PS. When the new DNG or TIFF is added to the library, I am finding that the filter I had set is being deactivated and I now see all of my photos again. I have to go back into the Library module and reactivate the filter, which was not something that happened on previous versions of LrC.
So, is this just me or are other people seeing it as well? Anyone found a way to fix it?

Processing Question Lightroom only importing Photo Mechanic photos
My Lightroom will only import photos that have been through Photo Mechanic. I can't import from my hard drive or an SD card. It will stay on "importing files at their current location". What actually happens is every once in a while 1 photo of about 10 will import after I've waited 5-10 minutes. Only when they're ingested into Photo Mechanic and dragged from there into Lightroom will all my photos import immediately.
I've reset my Lightroom preferences, updated it, moved the photos to a different folder to no avail. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro with 8GB Memory. I know it's not the best at running Lightroom but it's not like I'm moving 500 photos. Max 20-30 an import.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

HELP - Lightroom Classic Lightroom shrinking screen on M1 MacBook Pro
I have a 16” M1 Max MacBook Pro that I run Lightroom on. Usually I run with an external monitor, but when I travel, I just use the MacBook Pro screen. When I’m using Lightroom my screen scales down a little bit, I guess because of the Notch in the screen, ever though the Notch would really not be interfering with anything in Lightroom. When I flip back and forth between Lightroom and other programs the screen scales up and down slightly. Not a huge issue, but still a little annoying. Anyone know how to stop this?

HELP - Lightroom Classic Slow Jpeg preview pre-import
I can't figure this out.
When importing jpegs, the preview screen for selecting which images to import is desperately slow to show anything.
Raw files are fine - hit the import button, import screen pops up all the thumbnails are there, click the ones you want to import and done. Jpegs though, you have to wait for each thumbnail to be processed (somehow...) before they appear. After selecting and importing the jpegs, there's are no more issues and are handled just the same as raw files.
I could understand if it was the other way around and raw file took time to process, but it's not.
What's going on?

Discussion Lightroom slow and buggy for anyone else?
Recently, with no major changes to my computer, Lightroom is slow and bugs out a lot. Photoshop runs as smooth as butter, but lightroom for whatever reason is just glitchy and lagging behind. I wanted to check in with fellow lightroom users to see if it is me problem or a adobe problem.

Workflow Lightroom (Local)
I generally use Lightroom Classic with the images stored in an External Drive. Now that Lightroom can access ‘Local’ drives I can access the same images in Lightroom. Will changes made in Lightroom to an image already added to my Lightroom Classic catalog update the LrC catalog?
