Anyone switched from Samsung to iPhone? Discussion

Loke the title says, has anyone here owned a Samsung Galaxy before and then switched to iPhone? I'm thinking about doing that, currently have the Galaxy S24 and thinking of getting the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I want to see if anyone has made a similar change before and what it was like adapting to a phone and system you've not used before.

Yeah, that’s what people keep telling me, and I’ve still never had anyone actually get it to work.

If I wasn’t out of the country on a business trip I would humor you and go through it together just to see if you’ve got some magical answer, lol.

Anyways, to expand on what I mean, because I don’t want to leave you hanging with what probably looks like an arrogant take. I’ll type it out in more detail.

With the Samsung phone, there’s basically TWO lock screens. There’s a darker Lock Screen when you don’t interact with the phone at all for awhile. And there’s another more lit up lock screen if you tap on the screen or pick the phone up.

My problem is I need text messages to appear on the first, darker, Lock Screen. I want a message to show in text on my phone without me having to double-tap the screen to wake it up.

A lot of people get confused and think that having the text show up after tapping the screen is what I want. But I want it to show text on the first Lock Screen.

It’s a lot easier to explain in person, and I shit you not, I’ve actually been offering people money and handing them my phone “make it do what I want, and I’ll give ya 20 bucks!” I’ve had over a dozen people try and all of them fail. So either I’m surrounded by idiots or android literally doesn’t do notifications like Apple, lol

So you can make a bubble appear with the first line of the text a few seconds on the always on display when you get the notification but yeah it won't stay forever if that's what you want.

I want it to stay forever until I decide to interact with my phone.

I see well no that doesn't exist.

Maybe through good lock with a text widget but not sure.

Thank you for hearing me out. A lot of people get confused and it’s so hard to truly explain over text. Which is why I’ve just been giving people my phone in person and say “make it do exactly like the iPhone,” and here’s 20 bucks.

I’ve have several self-proclaimed android nerds simply explain that it doesn’t do what I want it to do.

But whenever I explain it as a reason why I switched away from android the crowd thinks I’m an idiot lol… no winning here.

It’s possible a widget or something more complex can fix my issue. But I’m not an advanced user. I just want my products to work in the way I need them to work to make my life easier.
