Anyone switched from Samsung to iPhone? Discussion

Loke the title says, has anyone here owned a Samsung Galaxy before and then switched to iPhone? I'm thinking about doing that, currently have the Galaxy S24 and thinking of getting the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but I want to see if anyone has made a similar change before and what it was like adapting to a phone and system you've not used before.

Back in 2020 from S10 to 12 Pro Max. Never looked back.

S10e to 13 mini.

I'm happy with the 13 mini, but I still long for all the tinkering I could do on the S10e, and especially the side FP reader, SD card slot, 3,5mm port, full SwiftKey, and google assistant.

If Samsung is able to make their phones ergonomic again, it's likely I'll go back because I loathe the iPhone's current dieection, and especially the horrible pill cutout in the middle of the fucking screen, and the huge camera bump.

I’m happy I can just use it as it is. Don’t miss any of that. I tinkered on windows 98 and XP in my youth. Now I just want my tech to work.

And I know I will be able to use it another two years. Then in 2026 I get the iPhone 18 pro max.

Same, I feel like it gives a character to the design instead of the bland ass straight plain glass that most phones have

They took a limitation and made it useful, while not downgrading the camera or face ID quality, and also making it decently cohesive in terms of design too. All in all I can’t fault the design at all

So did I, 6 years ago when Samsung released the S10 plus.

I honestly thought I’d mind the pill more, but using the dynamic island has proven to be very nice, at least for my use cases.

You loved a cutout that did absolutely nothing?

The island at least holds all the live activities and is slowly becoming a home for system notifications.

You're talking about 2 different things.

The cutout and the functionality that is associated with it are not the same.

Apple could very well allow us to use live activities on any part of the screen. The cutout is not necessary for that.

yeah, if it was just a camera then im sure they could copy what xiaomi and redmagic have done... but infrared signals are pretty easy to block i would assume...
