How can i leave this screen?

I was trying to make an account on the Aol app and my ipad just froze, i tried shutting it off and it didnt work (slider wouldnt work). My screen is fully froze except for the accept/cancel buttons and my home button also works.

Hold home button and power button until u see Apple logo

Hold both Home Button and Power Switch until the Apple Logo appears for a forced restart.

Keeping the turn off button pressed doesn't force the iPad to shut down?
