That's not really why the iPad Mini gets infrequent updates mostly with spec bumps. The Mini is the worst selling iPad line, and as such I am not surprised that Apple doesn't dedicate more time towards improving it. If the Mini sold more, I think Apple would be willing to put more effort into the product

In fact, the iPad minis sales jumped from 9% to 16% in 2023, overtaking the standard ipad.. while still being the old 2021 model at that.

There’s only a 10% difference in total sales between the mini and the highest selling model (pro at 26%) according to the article 🤔

If the mini had the better screen and the rest of the pro specs, I imagine it would sell much better. I for one would get one instead of my pro 11”.
