Disappointing that they went with the A17 Pro chip, especially a binned one that only has 5 GPU cores. Definitely the bare minimum necessary to run Apple intelligence.

They should have called the binned chip the A17

It’s likely that Apple completed the engineering for this device late last year or early this year, and didn’t see a need to bring the A18 to it.

Why does that even matter?? The iPhone 15 pro couldn’t even really use all those GPU cores well enough :/ iPhones have poor cooling for the hardware they have now

With A18 pro in town , 17 pro feels obsolete. Isn't it 😅
