Yeah the Samsung Galaxy S series tablets make more sense as they have OLED screen and 120 Hz and also the S9 and S9 plus are more value for money than the M4 iPad Pro. I can’t stand those grey bars while watching Netflix on the iPad LCD screens.
Yeah but it’s aspect ratio makes so much more sense for anything that isn’t Netflix. 16:9 sucks ass on tablets (and computers) and the fact that Apple has avoided it this entire time is a big selling point for me.
I like tablets that are 4:3 because then you can use them oriented vertically without being cramped, and I like computer monitors that are 16:10 because they’re always the same resolution and density as 16:9 but with extra vertical pixels (1920x1200 vs 1920x1080 for example). Black bars on video mean nothing in that case.
I absolutely love that Apple actually feels the same way and has been giving us these aspect ratios everywhere.
Having used both the Apple Pencil USB-C and the S Pen that came with the Galaxy Tab S7+, I strongly believe the S Pen is a considerably better product to use. Everything from air gestures to the floating pointer to pressure sensitivity to the feel of the nib. Samsung's got it locked down. And it even comes with the tablet!
I'm glad Apple's taken steps to improve the Pencil with the new gen. It's the one feature I miss the most, having swapped to an iPad.
I agree mostly because apps on the Android tablet ecosystem are shit quality phone ports and almost always force you to use the vertical orientation. It's why at the end of the day, I chose an iPad.
However, in terms of the actual OS itself, I vastly prefer OneUI and DeX to iPadOS. Plugging in the keyboard to my old Tab 7+ and swapping it to DeX mode with a taskbar and fully windowed apps, was truly glorious. You felt like you were using a full Linux computer, because you were. Whipping out Termux and doing a Neofetch on my Android tablet got me all giddy.
Meanwhile, my current iPad feels and continues to feel like a embiggened iPhone even with the Magic Keyboard Folio attached.
For all intents and purposes, the S Pen provided on Galaxy tablets (and phones, I might add) is a considerably better product than the Apple Pencil was, at least until the newest Pencil Pro. It has considerably more features, most of which were actually genuinely useful instead of the typical Samsung "feature spam" you see.
Calling a better product "broke mentality" just because it comes with the device and doesn't need to be a separate purchase, is quite honestly broke mentality in itself. The price (or lack thereof) ain't everything.
Android tablets which work for a long time are still an untested territory.
When I was getting my iPad, I could have saved about 25% of my costs going with Android but there was no guarantee it would have lasted the 5 years I had on.
The situation may have changed now but Samsung is still to prove it.
yea buy an android tab if you hate having an app market. you can look at the three apps on the play store in crisp color. or just dont buy ewaste and get an older ipad.
