I’m thinking of getting an iCloud plan and uploading my photos to my iCloud. I asked some questions about this and people were talking about photos deleting from your phone? If I upload my photos to my iCloud, will they delete from my photos app?

If you turn on Optimise iPhone Storage for photos then it will convert the photos on your phone to small thumbnail images rather than the full size photos. When you go to view the photos it will download and display the full size one.

It saves a lot of space obviously. Nothing is deleted in terms of pictures being gone. It’s supposedly quite seamless, though I haven’t tried it myself.

And if you don’t then it on? Does it still cut down on storage and would my photos be the same?

If you don’t turn it on then your full resolution photos are stored on the phone internal storage, so no it can’t cut down on storage
