I was wondering that too. It's perhaps something for /r/midlyinteresting or something, but it's not comedic in any way is it?

Not even. Use in conjunction with a headset would render the Zapper completely useless.

The entire point of the Zapper was that it mattered where you aimed it, because it took its cues from the screen.

With a headset, there is no screen, which means the Zapper can't do shit.

"Hey, here's 2 pieces of gray plastic. They can't work together. They have nothing to do with each other. But they're both gray plastic." is no closer to /r/mildlyinteresting than it is to /r/funny.
